I currently have a slide in range but would want a cooktop and a wall oven.
This would require, I believe, a new granite counter top to match the existing one as well as some re-arranging or replacing the cabinets etc. The corrent range is 30" but I am getting a 36" cooktop instead.
I would like this project completed before Sept ending and hence prefer quotes from only those available to fit me in that time frame.
As well, I would like those with references as well as insurance.
I live in Ajax.
We are considering buying a 40 year old home in the Ajax area. One of the things we'd like to do be fore we make an offer is understand what it would cost to renovate the current kitchen. The job also includes knocking down walls to make the first floor open concpet - basically creating a "great room" that would include the current kitchen, dining room and living room space. The whole area would be about 500 sq. ft. I am looking for a contractor who would be willing to visit the property with me and provide an estiamte for the job.
I am replacing my current kitchen with a set of used cabinets (complete). There will be some redesign/modifications as the new cabinets are totally different - wall oven, pantry, and cooktop, etc. As well, it involves granite work, and electrical stuff. I need this project to be completed before July 14th. So if you are unable to do it within this timeframe, please don't contact me.
I am ready to start as soon as possible and would be available for on-site visits between now till June 30th. My old kitchen will need to be removed (I am trying to sell it now).
Looking for quotes on a complete kitchen reno. We are wanting to take down 2 walls to make our place open concept. One of the two wall may be load bearing. As far as the kitchen cabinets, we are looking into purchasing Ikea cabinets and would need someone to install them. The placement for the appliances will more than likely move after the walls get taken down so redirecting electrical lines and plumbing will be needed. From my limited understanding, I believe the walls would need to come down first in order to get an accurate measurement of the overall space available for the cabinets. Also, we currently have ceramic tiles in the kitchen and foyer of the house and laminate in the living area. We would like to have the ceramic removed so we can replace it with laminate to tie together the whole floor.
Open concept Kitchen & Dinning rooms. Remove existing walls (15') between kitchen, dining room & hall; want to re-use kitchen cabinets but some would need to be relocated, also looking for new set of drawers. possibly add island & couple more pantry cabinets; granite or quartz counter tops, new sinks & faucet; ceramic tile (approx 600 sq ft) including front hall & powder room.
I am looking to get a quote to renovate my kitchen. New flooring, prefab cabinets, granite counter, backsplash, minor drywall repairs and paint. Right now we do not have enough cabinet space and want more cabinets added and space to put a dishwasher as we currently do not have one.
I would like to do some kitchen renovations, I can send a picture of current kitchen.
I would like to replace the oven (backs onto outside wall) and replace with wall oven/microwave and cooktop.
I would like to add gas appliances if possible but not a deal breaker.
I have 2 lazy susans in the corner that I dislike and wanted to replace that with drawers.
2 load bearing walls are being removed top open up a kitchen. the length of the walls to be removed are 12 feet long.
i am able to remove the existing drywall and electrical. i need the joists properly supported once the walls are removed.
how soon and how much ? : )
We recently moved into a home in Ajax Ontario. It is a detached single family home on a good sized lot, with plenty of room on the sides to work. The house is approximately 35 years old, but the kitchen was renovated about 10 years ago.
The original wiring in the home is aluminium, but the kitchen is copper. The house still has a fuse panel with 100 amp service, and I'm considering switching to breaker service for convenience.
The primary task is adding an over the range microwave with hood fan to the kitchen. There is no hood fan at present, however there are two plugs on separate 15A fuses nearby that might be able to accommodate the OTR. The Cabinets above the stove will need to be moved up a little bit, but they are mounted to the wall independent of each other and should be relatively easy to move/remove to gain access.
The wall it is being mounted on is an exterior wall that will vent to the side of the house. The exterior is vinyl siding.
I would like an estimate for the installation of the microwave, including the venting.
I would like another separate estimate or combined estimate for the microwave and the breaker service. We are also having Central A/C installed, and there is a free spot on the panel for it to be installed so it is not crucial. Ultimately it will come to down to cost/benefit of switching.
If you need any other details, please don't hesitate to ask.

We have a dining room (10x10), next to a living room (10x10), next to our kitchen (10x10). We would like to eliminate the living room and add this space to the kitchen. We need to remove the wall between the kitchen and the living room, expand the kitchen by a few feet (adding 4x10), and build a servery (6x10) with the leftover living room space.
Where the living room used to be, will contain:
- a servery (requires two potlights + light switch, one small sink, and two new power outlets)
- a space in the expanded kitchen for the fridge (requires a new electrical and water line)
- a broom closet (possibly one potlight + light switch)
- for a visual, please see attached pictures
In general, the above will involve mostly framing and drywalling. It may also possibly require (minimal) rerouting of one hot and one cold water line running by 1-2 feet.
We're not yet certain if the wall is load-bearing, so please provide one estimate in case it is, and a separate estimate in the event it is not. For the time being, please provide only a BALLPARK estimate! We will later follow up with a more precise on-site estimate.
