We are currently renovating our basement.
We have an existing window in the basement at grade, but would like it to be enlarged to let more light in and to be an egress window. The window is currently 32" wide and 13.5" tall.
We would like to hire someone for this portion of the project.

I have a 1900 sqft home within a subdivision on a 40x100 lot, neighbours on eitherside. the soffits and facia need replacing, the siding needs cleaning and i would like to replace the remaining original windows approximately four of them and i would lilke the other windows capped along with other cappings ie garage door the house is 20 years old and the roof was redone last year. estimates only
Empty house. Tenants left Feb 2013. The unit will either be sold or used as rental and needs to be repairs by March 1st (if possible). I have a variety of small jobs which need to get done which includes the following,
Priority 1 repairs
1. Window replacement - bathroom window approximately 24" X 24" on the ground floor (bathroom window).
2. Railing - wooden porch railing which needs replacing or repairing. Some pickets have split due to weather wearing.
Priority 2 repairs
1. Florring change - laminate/carpet in bedrooms/hallway and stairs.
2. Electrical - hang new fixtures, change a switch plate.
We have a window that opens and closes from the top and bottom. The top portion no longer stays closed. We have been advised that it is most likely an issue with the shims (either need to be tightened or replaced). With winter coming, this would need to be fixed as soon as possible. If this is something that your team can repair, we are hoping that someone come in for an estimate at the earliest possible date.
We are available evenings after 5pm or most Saturdays.
I find that it has been difficult to make contact during business hours, so if you can email or leave a voicemail to confirm a date/time that works for an estimate, that would be appreciated. I can return the call/email to confirm.
The window seal requires replacement. The house is about 12 years old. The wood frame surrounding the balance of the window appears to be solid. I suspect that the window may require removal and a new seal installed before reinstalling the original window. May be able to repair without removing the window. I have removed much of the rotted wood to determine the extend of the problem. It appears that a portion of the wood below (supporting) the window requires replacement.
Anyone wanting to take a look and provide an estimate please contact me. I need to get the job done soon.
