The basement is 700 square feet and requires proper fire seperation between units.
(2 layers of 5/8's on res. channel).
Do note the basement exterior walls
are insulated and framed by the builder due to ICF foundation.
House is 2 years old.

- need to update the kitchen and washroom
- enlarge the entry way between the kitchen/dining area or remove that wall completely.

We have just purchased a new house and would like to finish the basement this summer. The bathroom is roughed in, but that is about it. We would like to install a 3 piece bathroom, a bedroom, a gas fireplace, wet bar, and laminate flooring. Our house is almost 2500 sq feet, located in South East Barrie. I would appreciate a rough quote emailed to me at lindsbogart@hotmail.com. I am also interested to know the price difference between installing a stand up shower in the basement, versus a tiled in shower. I know without seeing my house yet, these are just rough estimates, but I would appreciate knowing a ballpark figure.

I am interested in framing and drywalling a portion of our basement for a bedroom. We also want to frame off a future bathroom ( to be completed in 2 nd year ). I am looking to complete by Sept. 1 and want to get some quotes. We are a 2 storey with approx. project size for the room of 20 long x 12 wide. I will buy materials as requested or help wherever possible, however, I do not do framing/drywall enough to consider doing a proper job.
I'd like to get my 700 sq foot basement gutted, with the exception of whatever is holding the rest of the house up, the laundry machines and the furnace. The previous owners installed carpeting directly to the floor, drywall directly on the concrete and a full bath, which I suspect wasn't installed well. Possibility of mold, but unsure.

Need approx 500 square feet of basement To be finished with soundproof drywall and insulation. Bathroom is roughed in but plumbing may need to be moved a few feet to accommodate fixtures. We need a standard tub with bath and shower faucet and tiles beside tub. Also tile floor is needed. Heated floor is nice but not necessary.
Wet bar will be on other side of bathroom wall so pipes can be accessed. We only have room for a small sink and enough counter room on the one side to cover a mini fridge.
Bigger cost will be the egress window and egress window well with steps which sells for about $1700 at Home Depot but maybe can be found cheaper elsewhere.
We need a small bedroom and small living area which contains the wet bar.
We can do the laminate floor ourselves as well as trim and painting (although I'd like priming to already be done).
Electrical will be needed to accommodate bathroom although it's already there but I've been told it was done incorrectly.
