I need a universal slider for my basement. I do not have the window yet so we need whatever is needed. The opening is approx 33 by 16 and was told this was a standard opening. The existing window is metal and the basement is down to the studs. I was ready yesterday to do the job so I need this done asap and also want to know the total cost for the completed job.
I need to repair three basement windows. The seal between the two layers of glasses for each windows is warped (likely from 8 years of sun exposure since the house was built). There is no water leaks, and the windows are functioning, however, I'm selling my home and this was one of the things I have to repair based on the Inspection report.
If the seal cannot be repaired, I would like to replace the panes of the window (not the frame). The dimensions are: 14 13/16" (W) x 12 1/8" (H) x 1" (thickness)
Need a quote and need the work done by July 13, 2012.
Looking for quotes on having 3 basement windows replaced. All windows are the same size. Project will consist of removing existing windows, any mortar repair required, installing and sealing new windows. Looking for quotes to include cost of windows plus labour. Current windows are builder installed windows (one is leaking). Looking to upgrade to better quality windows.
To whom it may concern,
We live in a townhouse and have a problem with a door and a window handle.
The bathroom door won't close fully and the window crank handle comes very loose to the point where you can take the entire handle off.
Do you take these kinds of jobs and if so, how much would it cost?
Thank you for your time.
I have a carport and over my front door is all opened and in the winter the ice and snow builds up to a very dangerous way for us .I would like to put a cover over it like you would put on windows wells. Something clear and durable. It is about 25 ft. long and about 5 ft. wide. Hope to hear from you soon. Regards Trudy Lawrence
it not a big job, but we live in a 140 year old house with blown glass windows, one just blew shut and the glass shattered. there are two panes in this window, approximately 18"X24" each... We have other windows with smaller cracks in them that we wouldn't mind getting repaired if we can get it done at a reasonable price.
We have 2 patio doors, a double garage door, and single man door that need to be capped with aluminum. We would like to have this project done the week of July 26-29th.
Please respond with a quote only if you are going to be available to do the work sometime during that week.
Pictures are provided below for two patio doors and garage door.
We are north Brampton - Mayfield and Hurontario area.
Looking for someone to come out and give me a quote on how much it would cost to install 4 closet doors in my current closet opening as well as some prices for the different types of closet doors, would prefer seeing the types of closet doors in a store or at the contractors other project homes before making a decision.
Looking for someone who is honest and that will take there time and get the job done professionally, as I am an individual with life changing problems that are hindering me from doing this myself.
I had a contractor bail on me 90% of the way through the job and i am left was 2 interior doors that are not hung but were requested to be put up the opposite way as they were previously along with door trim that was never installed. The contractor who was doing my windows and doors told my carpenter to leave the existing door frames and that he would finish them up.
Hello,
I am looking to get someone to quote me on the following 2 different projects:
1. Uninstalling & installing my back yard door same day for me to be able to move in/out oversized furniture
2. Install existing/new door set (fixed + sliding) for the house entry closet
Regards,
Amit Prasad
Replace 4 inside doors (3 bedroom and one bathroom) on upstairs level of townhouse. (Including measuring, buying new doors, hardware and knobs, delivering and installing doors and disposing of old doors. (only 3 - one is missing)
Replace 2 (possibly 3) light fixtures.
Replace two existing standard storm doors 64" by 92" approximately (includes top lite) with two new full lite white doors and a top lite portion that can vent.
I would like to coordinate the work with replacement of my gutters/downspouts which includes changing the porch overhang panels. Work is scheduled for end of September.
I would need the existing doors removed, allow the gutter contractor to change the overhead panels (maybe 30-40 minutes maximum) and then install the new doors or remove the old doors one/few days prior. We can discuss this in more detail.
Thanks

My wife and I are looking to add a legal bedroom in our basement and will need to change an existing window into an egress window. the current window is 2'8" wide x 1'8" high.
As far as we understand the egress window will need to be a certain percentage of the size of the room. The bedroom will be 16' x 10'6". The current drywall and framing will be removed by us before the egress window would be installed.
We would be looking to do this as soon as digging is possible.
We are looking for quotes right now, then I will be applying for the permit.
Thank you for your interest in this project.
Hello,
I need an Egress window in the basement. I live in Brampton. My house is 2200 sq.ft. detached. Please give me an estimate. I have to get this done by April 20th.
Please respond only if ....
* You follow the Ontario building codes for egress windows.
* You are an insured contractor? Will require the copy of insurance with the contract.
* You provide proper receipt with your business name printed on it, and the details of work done?
*You give warranties of material and labor.
I need to get this done by April 20th, but please do not expect to get the contract signed on the first meeting. I can make the decision only after meeting and getting estimate.
My basement is finished and occupied. Please mention if you need access to the basement. I have to give 24 hours notice to my tenants.
Thank you.
Thanks
I currently have a small window in my basement. The basement has now been turned into a bedroom and I would like the existing window to be enlarged to offer an alternate escape route in case of emergency. There will need to be a window well, as it will be below the ground level and as I understand it, it needs to drain into the weeping tiles ... I'm sure you know what this is, better than I!
I have a standard basement window of 30 W X 12 H dimensions. I would like to make it larger so that it meets legal egress requirements.
I am assuming the following would need to occur:
Obtain a permit from City of Brampton
Dig a window well
Dig to weeping tile to add proper drainage
Concrete cut
Ensure joists and upper floor have proper support by adding a header
Insert a PT rough frame - double joists on the sides to support header
Install window
Install window well
To ensure the window is at least 35" from the basement floor, it will be 40X40 window.
A large portion of the window is above grade, so the well may be about 2-3 feet deep.
The house is 2 story with brick veneer
The window will be on the backyard side of the house
I'd like an estimate for the work to begin in May 2013.
Thanks,
Omar
My basement currently has 2 small windows - which would be too small for a person to fit through. This is dangerous, as there is only one exit from the basement, that being the stairs. I would like to enlarge one or both windows for both light and safety. The exterior of my home is brick and cement.
I would like to make an entrance from my garage into the inside of the house. There is a perfect spot for it that will go through the closet in the laundry room right into the garage.
There will be no digging involved...just an opening is needed through cement blocks and then framing and installing the door.
