We are looking to finish basement. in burlington. The size is approximatelly 650 Sq ft. We prefer to keep it open space except of 1 enclosures for furnace/water tank and washer/dryer. No bathroom required. Around 40 electrical features:(pot lights+ swiches+ receptacles).
We are open to both : to hire entire project or to hire individual contracters for separate jobs: framing, drywall, electrical, etc.
I want to finish 2/3 of my basement. The part I want to finish is approx 400 sq feet. I want to relocate my washer and dryer to the unfinished part of my basement. I also need to move a support pole 4 feet to the one side.
I am looking for a team of skilled workers that can do flooring/walls/electrical/plumbing as I will be needing a half bathroom and potlights throughout.
Need pricing for a family room, bedroom with closet, and bathroom in my basement including all framing, insulation, dry walling, taping, laminate flooring, bathroom flooring, primer and painting, doors, trim, baseboards, plumbing, electrical, shower, toilet, vanity with sink and taps, lighting, inspection, licenses, insurance, scope of work and guaranteed price. I am located in Burlington, Ontario. Basement has roughed in plumbing for bathroom. Please specify no. of weeks to complete, payment schedule and include all taxes in quotation.
The basement is not finished and would need to be studded, drywalled, primed. It is just over 400 square feet. Would like flooring installed most likely laminate, pot lights and doors to furnace and laundry area, as well as washroom which would also be finished. Basement would be an entertainment area (for kids to play and watch TV, also laundry room and washroom (the plumbing is already there for toilet, tub and sink).
Townhouse is 8 years old, stairs leading down the stairs would be carpet and then laminate through out except in laundry room and washroom which would be tile or laminate or other flooring. Storage area under the stairs and along one wall. Electrical and wiring for power, tv and phone. Washer and dryer already down in the basement and hooked up, we might look at moving the dryer over to the other side of the washer. Finished with baseboards.
Looking to finish my basement. Dimensions will 16ft x 15ft. Please provide quotes for the following (I will supply the materials and can even provide 'semi'-skilled labour if work takes place on the weekend (willing to pay cash):
- Demo/removal of existing framing
- New framing
- Drywall (include mudding and taping)
- Drop ceiling installation
Thanks in advance.
I require my basement oversized laundry room to be renovated into two rooms - one will remain the laundry room and the other empty space. The ceiling, floor and walls (dry wall) needs to be done. The room is about 15x12 feet. Once this room is separated into two, the laundry room would be smaller than the other room and there is only access to the laundry room from this room as it's on the back wall. I would need the same ceiling and walls throughout the entire room, but tile in the laundry room and laminate in the other room. As there is not ceiling in either room, it would be fairly easy to ensure I have lighting in both rooms, since there is only one right now.
To make a decision, I now require an estimate quote for labour and materials to complete this job.
Please let me know. This is a small room and wouldn't take very long to complete ... as my dad says.
Thanks. I would appreciate an email in response.
I have an oversized laundry room that I want to divide into two rooms. The entire space is approximately 13ft. by 10ft. I would like the following things done:
-all four walls dry walled with paint and baseboards
-ceiling drywalled, but doesn't have to be - there is a drop ceiling there now (that is good incase I need to get to any pipes)... so that can remain, but just fixed up.
-ceramic floors put in
-a dividing wall put in to make room into two
It is one small basement room, so I don't want to spend a crazy amount to finish it... I'm not expecting to get the top-of-the-line ceramics either.
Please let me know how much you think material and labour will be and how long it will take.
Thanks!
We recently purchased our home. The stairs into the basement have a wall on one side with a railing, while the opposite side is open. Our home insurance company would like us to put in some type of protection (i.e. railing) on the open side to protect from someone falling over the side. The stairs are rather narrow already so we are looking for some innovative ideas to keep the stairway open, while providing the protection required. We want it to look nice, however, as these are basement stairs we don't want to spend lots of money. The carpeting on the stairs should be replaced as well. It is a straight staircase to the basement with a door at the top.
We need a dividing wall erected in the basement to create a bedroom. The new wall is approximately 13 feet wide by 7.5 feet high with one door. We would like it framed, drywalled, taped and primed. A couple of pot lights need to be moved and the drop ceiling adjusted to meet the new wall. Baseboards and trim installed.
We are moving (early Dec)into a new home and we need a small (3-4') wall in the basement removed and a larger wall with a door put up. The challenge we have is we need it done as quickly as possible once we move in -- as the room is to serve as a room for our son and need it ready before Christmas. We would need framing, drywall and an interior door installed.
We actually have a considerable amount of work we would like to do at our new home -- but this project needs to happen first. We are planning a visit in the next week or so to our new home and are wondering if you would be able to quote it -- if this is a project that you would consider and could accommodate the short time frame.
Demo will done for 1 bedroom and living room in basement
Need outside wall framing and possibly internal walls
Spray insulation
Drywall and plastering for all walls and ceiling only in bedroom as ceiling in living room is fine.
Fireplace update with new mantel and stacked stone floor to ceiling 5 ft wide
No need for painting, flooring nor mouldings.
Need to be done before December 2015.
20 year old home.
Approx 1000 sq ft.
Large basement, already fully insulated.
Looking to professionally finish, dry wall, dry wall ceiling, pot lights, electrical, carpeting.
Want to end up with large rec room, 1 bedroom, closed in laundry area and 1 storage room.
I would like to increase the size of my living room and the only way to do so is to change the entrance to my basement. I would like to enter the basement from the garage or the exterior of the house at ground level, no dug up required. Who does this sort of thing? It would require the cutting of concrete or brick.
1. My basement has a separate entrance but the entrance is into the kitchen area of upper portion. In order to provide privacy to the tenants staying in upper portion, I want to make a separation wall.
2. In the basement I want to explore the installation of a small stove with exhaust. Currently there is a small kitchen area but no stove.
We need a wall installed (approximately 12'w x 7'h) to create a bedroom in our basement. We would also want to install flooring (most likely carpeting) in the resulting bedroom which will be approximately 12' x 11'. We are the property owners of this single family dwelling.
Two walls in the storage room will need to be framed and drywalled. Guessing one wall is 8ft long, the other 10ft. Ceiling needs to be drywalled. There is one duct which will need to be boxed in and drywalled over.
The wall seperating the two spaces will need to come down.
The breaker box will need to be boxed in. Some minor electical work to do (move a light switch, add some outlets, install pot lights.
Work can begin on the space whenever. Not in a rush, but willing to start immediately.
PLease contact me to set up an appointment to come and see the job. I am in Burlington... Guelph line and upper middle area. Thanks very much.

Completely unfinished basement. We would like to finish to include simple bathroom, one sink, toilet and stand up shower, home theatre rough-in, space for home gym + open space.....however, happy to hear suggestions / designs.
Approx size of basement = 1,100 sf
I would like to have my basement finished. It will be one room with the addition of a three piece bathrooom. The house is 10 years old and the space will be used as office/photo studio space.
I would like a contractor to come to our home to talk to us and provide a quote.
Would like quality and appearance to be concerns as well but money does not grow on trees.
I would ideally like to have this completed by the end of October be we are flexible.
Thanks
Laura
Looking to finish a basement with approx. 750 sq ft open room with a sectioned bedroom/closet with egress window, bathroom with single sink/vanity, and a preferred shower stall or bath tub/shower combo, and want finished floors to be included with vinyl or laminate, whatever is more practical and less costly but functional. House will be in Crystal Beach and expect to be available late 2016.
We have approx 500 sq feet of living space in our basement that is partial finished. It includes a family room, bedroom and study. We have been doing all the work ourselves but are finding that we simply cannot get it done ourselves in a reasonable timeframe. We are mid-drywalling right now. The job would include: finish hanging a few pieces of drywall, finish the drywall (the main family room is partially finished but the other two rooms have not had any mudding or sanding done yet), paint, hang the suspended ceiling and build a small hand rail and bannister for bottom half of stairs (only one side as other is a wall).
