Country property, north Burlington - high water table - spring thaws/huge storms mean occasional puddles in basement. Sump pump installed & working, but French drain to pit not in line with aquifer flow towards house.
I want to trench in the backyard approx. 5' to 6' deep, 2' wide, 60' long. Treated as if a concrete foundation wall is present. On the house-side of trench: gravel, weeper, foundation wrap... backfilled and re-sodded. (Trench in RED on attachment).
This may be unconventional and I'm open to other suggestions. Interior work and/or exterior foundation access not practical.
Not expecting a warranty/guarantee on no water in the future, but still expecting a quality job on work, including the clean-up. This should look like nothing was done.
Crazy idea? maybe. 1 straight trench, dirt goes back in... not a bad backhoe & sod cutter job for a couple of days!
