In the upstairs of our house, we have 5 passage doors which are from the original installation of the house.
The frames are metal and slightly warped in most cases. The frames are hollow, but do not seem to be load bearing. the warping is most likely from settling of the house.
The goal of the project would be to remove the old frames, replace them with some cheap passage doors.
4 of the metal door frames support a 30"x80" passage door, but if the frames are removed, it should be possible to use a 32"x80" door and trim to size as required.
The one exception is the bathroom, which has a 28"x80" door. If the frame was removed, it may be possible to use a 30"x80".
After a door is replaced, we would also want trim around the door to make the look complete.
Main concern is overall price for replacement. Pre-hung doors are fine too with a basic pattern or no pattern.
Looking to have a fire rated door installed at the entrance to the house from the garage. Will have exact dimensions on April 18.
Possession date of the home is May 9 and work needs to be complete by May 27 so please don't offer to quote if work can't be done by that deadline.
Thank you :)
I would like to install a secret door in the laundry room through a laundry tower cabinet. I already purchased the cabinet and I'm in the process of assembling it. The job involves identifying the best spot in the wall to put the Secret Door such as no wires are affected Etc and cutting out a piece of drywall and then also putting a doggie door in the Secret Door. It does make sense on some level?? Please let me know if you have experience with cutting drywall and installing the cabinet in a professional way. The end result must look very professional to be believable as a secret door. Thank you.
We have three very different door related projects around our home. I'm not sure how many of these have expertise overlap.
1. Front door
We have an ageing storm door due for upgrade, and we think the main steel door would be better if it swung in the other direction. Some features we're interested info for the storm door are: good weather sealing, insulated (low u value) glass, and option for ventilation on mild days. We would prefer to re-use the current steel door though.
2. Garage door
We want to replace both the garage door and the automatic opener.
3. Interior glass door for basement stairs
We'd like the door to our basement stairs to have glass panes. We have two multi-pane glass interior doors. One is not in use but has a broken pane, The other is in good condition but hanging in a place that we don't mind a solid wood door instead. Neither glass door is a perfect fit for the basement stairs. Some combination of glass pane replacement, re-sizing wood surrounding glass panes, and hanging a new solid core wood door will be needed.
We'd like to schedule some site visits with people that have expertise in one or many or these semi-related projects.
The main bathroom - grouting, adding a few tiles - base of bathroom was not tiles correctly and water is not draining (staying in shower)
Basement bathroom is only dry walled and tiled, needs grouting reinstall toilet and sink - mirror and light
Main floor - installing interior doors, closet doors, changing 2 exterior back doors.
I am the supervisor of a child care centre and we are in need of quotes to replace the windows in the centre. The company will need to provide a certificate of insureance and WSIB. We need quotes completed by the end of March.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Supervisor
I live in a five year old freehold townhome. When a cold wind blows directly onto the back of our house you can feel the breeze coming through our bedroom window and ensuite bathroom window making the rooms very cold. Also, any significant wind sounds unusually noisy. At first I thought it might be poor insulation (and it 'could' be) but I have more of a tendency to believe the problem is with the sealing and/or caulking of the windows. Am looking for (obviously) the most effective and least expensive solution. Any ballpark figures in terms of what the cost to solve this problem 'might' roughly be, would be helpful although I realize it'd be hard to expect accuracy with a cost suggestion without actually checking the situation out. Just a figure that could be in the wheelhouse would be adequate right now. Thanks.
I am looking to replace 5 windows from our sunroom that is build as an addition to our house.
The current windows are standard size, wood and partially rotten. The sunroom is covered with white sidings.
Since we are in the process of selling, we are looking at the least expensive option. The house is located in the North end of Burlington.
Easy excess thrue the backyard.
