I am the property owner and I live in end unit freehold townhouse.
My basement is unfinished and I wanted to have a professional install electrical outlets
in the basement. The light fixture on the first landing going into the basement needs to be replaced.
I also require an electrical outlet in the kitchen replaced. I have a new hood for the stove that needs be installed in the kitchen.
On the second floor I require a light switch to be replaced in the bathroom and new lights installed in the bathroom over the sink. Also, in the bedroom a electrical outlet needs to be replaced.
Install 10 direct burial light poles, install 200 mtr direct burial cable betwen poles, install wiring inside building to two switch connector box or boxes to control two lighting circuits. Install three floodlights on the outside of the building.
The poles, floodlights and any GFCI breakers will be suppied.
Contractor will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of any required permit.
The work site can be inspected upon request to assist in the preparation of the RFQ.
Four main parts to this job are;
1) Framing and insulating (plus a vapor barrier) an uneven basement concrete floor ready for me to frame and insulate the walls. The basement is split into two rooms and both floors will need to be done up to the plywood under layer.
The first room is 20x12ft aprox and the second is 10.5 by 10ft aprox
2) Re framing an attic floor and roof (as specified in the plans) and putting in a new knee wall. as per the requirements in the structural document attached. Also required is a staircase up to the attic
(SBMW-16-422 Stuart Bezant)
3) Rough in level plumbing for a bathroom and kitchen. Bathroom is the standard 3 piece but bath is a claw foot tub. The kitchen needs a sink and dishwasher connections plus running new lines to them from the basement.
4) New electrical for the whole house. Outlets, lighting, hardwired smoke alarms.
Time frame is to be completed within the next few weeks to a month depending (obviously the electrical needs to wait till the framers are done.
The estimated budget is per contractor
Moving in to our first house Oct 13th.
The basement and main floor is on it's own panel and own meter (must of been split into two apartments before)
Basement is on breakers, 100 amp. Main floor is on fuses and is 100 amp. House has been changed to copper wiring.
I need two quotes:
1: Just to change the main floor 100 amp fuse panel to breakers.
2: To do the panel and to get both panels to one meter.
the basement panel is in the basement and the main floor panel and both meters are beside each other in the mud room.
I would love to know an ballpark price and time it would take to get done.
I am a contractor looking for someone new to quote on my projects. My company does about half a dozen basements a year. You must be a fully licensed electrician, experience with residential, insured and live close to Cambridge. Please respond with a description of your company and experience
Installing kitchen into already finished basement room approx 10' x 20'. Need a quote for some electrical and plumbing work. Need to pull a wire for a sub-panel (empty 2" conduit is available between electrical room and this room) to supply 220v for stove, plus a few outlets on dedicated circuits. Need to bring water from bathroom on main floor (directly above) for rough in for sink and dishwasher. Will need to pump drain water back up. Also need to install range hood vent to outside. Drywall will need to be opened and repaired as this is a finished room.
Need to start soon, and hope to be complete within a week or so. Budget is around $2000.
Just wondering if you could let me know an approximate cost of installing 3 wall sconces in a living room that has no overhead lighting. The light switches on the wall currently power the outlets scattered throughout the room. We would love to have potlights but since the cielings are plaster we are thinking that would be out of the question.
I would love to have someone come and give me a quote of the job.
