Looking for a reliable and efficient professional who is willing to help us "finish" a minor kitchen and bathroom facelift in the rental portion of our duplex. We have had poor experience with this job already with three contractors already with people not showing up when they are supposed to, or cancelling on us at the last minute. We are looking for someone who we can trust to get the job done on time!
The kitchen and bathroom are on the second floor of a solidly built century home located in the historic neighbourhood of old West Galt. The kitchen and bathroom together are about 400 sq ft.
Kitchen: We are planning to leave the existing cabinets but install two new cabinets and a new counter top (could be sourced by you, or us). The electrical for the oven will need to be moved about 6 feet, and two electrical fixtures changed in the kitchen (but not moved). Plumber will be needed to replace the sink, as well. New vinyl floor tiles to be laid (we have already take off the existing vinyl floor and all that is left is the original hardwood). We will be painting and installing new hardware after.
Bathroom: New shower enclosure (could be sourced by you or us), and new sink and vanity put in. We have taken off the existing vinyl floor and would like a new vinyl floor to be laid. Two light fixtures to be changed, and a new medicine cabinet to be put in (sunken into the wall a bit already, but needs to be lower). We will be painting and installing new hardware after.
All in all, it's not a big job. We have done some of the demolition ourselves to save time and money, and are looking for a professional to finish the job. Since it is a rental apartment, and our living space is underneath, all work must be to code and meticulous. We are looking to get this job done quickly so we can get the space rented out. We are willing to pay good money for good work, but are also conscious of "the bottom line". If we're happy, there are lots of other jobs which we will be looking for someone do in our home to in the near future, as well!
Thank you for your time.

We have an 1879 triple brick victorian home which we are converting to a B&B. The home was turned into 5 apartments during the 2nd WW. We are going back to single family and need a new kitchen with a Victorian flavor, but modern convenience. We have removed all the former kitchen and are having the walls stripped of the old painted paper so we can paint. We have removed the laminated floor and expect to install a hardwood floor before installing the cabinets. We are waiting for a quote from Home Depot, but wondered if we are doing the wrong thing and would have a better outcome with cabinets built especially for us. We are on a fairly tight budget -- Money IS an object. The kitchen area is approximately 16x17. We expect to have about 15 to 20 feet of cabinets, some fairly tall because the walls are about 11 ft high, plus an island about 6 x 4.
If there is a company that would like to bid on this project please let me know. We hope to begin very soon and finish in late June or early July.
