I am going to remove a wall and all the kitchen cabinets. I want the ceiling redone (i.e. popcorn scrapped off and a california ceiling done). The kitchen ceiling is 12' x 18' and there will be a small repair of about 6" x 75" were the wall comes out. The electrical should only be minor, maybe just moving a couple of outlets and running a new wire for the dishwasher and some valance lighting. The basement is open for the wiring.I am expecting the kitchen cabinets to arrive the end of Jan. or beginning of Feb. so need the work done by mid Jan.
Looking to extend our kitchen approx extra 5' which will require knocking down a wall and push out into our pantry.
Will require New custom cabinetry / granite countertops / backsplash/ approx 5'x5' island / and relocate pantry
We are looking for someone who can add insight to design and knowledge of potential load barring issues.
- removing wall to extend kitchen 5' as well as removing another wall to open kitchen and family room .. Currently has an opening of 5' but want to make it approx 9'.
Current kitchen 15'x12'
New kitchen 18'x18'
Budgeting max $50,000
New appliances will be purchased before construction.
We have an 1879 triple brick victorian home which we are converting to a B&B. The home was turned into 5 apartments during the 2nd WW. We are going back to single family and need a new kitchen with a Victorian flavor, but modern convenience. We have removed all the former kitchen and are having the walls stripped of the old painted paper so we can paint. We have removed the laminated floor and expect to install a hardwood floor before installing the cabinets. We are waiting for a quote from Home Depot, but wondered if we are doing the wrong thing and would have a better outcome with cabinets built especially for us. We are on a fairly tight budget -- Money IS an object. The kitchen area is approximately 16x17. We expect to have about 15 to 20 feet of cabinets, some fairly tall because the walls are about 11 ft high, plus an island about 6 x 4.
If there is a company that would like to bid on this project please let me know. We hope to begin very soon and finish in late June or early July.
