Building a house in Etobicoke and will need a roof in 2-3 weeks (end of November). It is a flat, mansard style roof (foot print of house is approx 38' X 50' the top of roof, a deck off the back and a small 'porch' in the front will need torch ply material - as it is flat). The sides are on a 12/24 (I think) slope and will need regular shingles (likely 25 year).
I can advise on rough square footage needed when I hear from you and/or when we meet.
I can provide plans upon request. I'd like to get it all done by one supplier - roof, eaves, downspouts, soffits, etc. I'd like to quickly interview 3-4 suppliers and make a decision asap.
This is only for the roof, so please don't send me a message looking to build the whole house.
Thanks for looking!
Holes in the soffit of the house gable roof has resulted in animals (squirrels & birds) living inside. It is a 4 storey townhouse. I need a roofing specialist to come assess the damage, determine how to deal with the animal removal and repair the holes and or other damage. I cannot see the holes; my next door neighbour had some roof repairs done and they told me the workers saw the holes on my roof. I have however, heard the animals from the wall in the master bedroom on the top floor.
This is a repost of already posted project.
So, we have come up with exactly what we needed.
We have a budget of $3500 max (including GST). May pay cash and ready to start tomorrow.
What needs to be done:
1) strip down 2 or 3 layers (not sure how many are there) on roof
2) install 1 missing wood board at the bottom of the roof (approx 10 inches by 10 feet)
3) replace eavestroughing around house (100 feets roughly)
4) we need to have 4 vents (we have 2) - add 2 more or install 4 news
5) install "I" or "T" beam protection around house for eavestroughing.
6) install new roof tar paper
7) install new asphalt shingles.
8) seal cracks on chimney and waterproof around chimney
About the house:
This is a bungalo ( 1 store house) in South Etobicoke.
House is 700 feet approx (20x35) and has "2-part roof".

P.S. I'll try to post pictures today or tomorrow.
We need to replace the existing roof on a shed in our backyard. The shed dimensions are 17' x 8' (approx.). Currently it has shingles. So the need is to remove/dispose those and put the new ones. There is no ventilation or any such thing required on roof. it's plain simple roof from end-end.
The Solarium is 18' x 10' Built in 1989 with Western Cedar
Check the soundness of the existing structure.
The current roof is approx 40 sq ft of wood flat roof with membrane covering. The rest of the roof consist of 15 sealed thermopane panels
The first part of the project is to remove these panels and put on a solid roof of plywood and cover with ashphalt shingles.
Cap with aluminum around the edges of the flat roof.
If this is not feasible then it would be to replace the 15 roof panels
and cap any exposed wood on the roof of the solarium with aluminum.
Secondly replace 14 wall windows.
4 with vinyl casements approx sizes 1 27"x 61", 2 23"x61",
These 4 units will replace 4 current wooden windows.
10 sealed thermopane windows approx sizes 8 -24"x63", 1- 30"x63",
1 - 21"x63" these units will be put back in the existing wood slots.
Cap with aluminum the wood around the windows
Thirdly - Cover the skirting of the solarium and the side wall with vinyl.
skirting is approx 40" x 31' wall is approx 30"w x 10' h plus some
existing wood on the wall behind the solarium. approx 12"x72"
Any wood that has rotted to be replaced.
Dispose the old 29 window/roof panels.
