Have a door frame that was forced open and broke the jam. Looking for a cheap creative fix here that does not require replacing the door. I am thinking that the broken jam could be cut at the edge of the door stop and replaced by a board with a new latch hole and plate. The casing can be nailed back in place. The casing is still fully intact just the jam is broken. Lower end of the budget this is not a big job but needs a fix.
I require the following interior doors to be installed. Four prehung knock down frames (2x4 framing is roughed in ready for jambs) three pocket doors to be hung (pocket door frame kits already installed) one door to be hung on existing frame (replacing an old door with new matching door). Doors are JELD-WEN brand already purchased and ready to install.
We have a need for some maintenance and repair to about 6 wooden office windows whose opening and closing mechanisms are failing. These windows all need weather stripping done for the winter. Also, our front wooden door requires weatherstripping as well. Perhaps it may need some repair/adjustment as there is a large gap between the two doors.
We believe these windows/doors to be the original installed units. The building is 20+ years old. The site is 2 stories tall, with some windows at the ground level.
If there are additional issues/ recommendations, then they would have to be discussed onsite. it would be beneficial to review all the windows in the office for maintenance if necessary. There are
We estimate that this is a small job requiring only a single day to complete, or perhaps two visits where replacement parts might have to be installed.
I am interested in buying an old bungalow in Etobicoke area, however it doesn't have separate entrance for basement. The way basement is finished, it would be most suitable to make a separate entrance for basement through garage, however would appreciate if someone can provide inputs on following.
- Does City of Toronto gives permit for basement entrance through garage? It is an attached single car garage (approx. 12ft wide x 22 ft deep). The garage already has side entrance to garage.
- How much would it cost (approx) to obtain permit and build? The new basement entrance from garage would involve digging in the garage (about 5-6 ft), cut-out, putting a stair, install a new door and garbage removal.
Thanks,
DJS
Hello,
Looking to replace approximately 11 windows in my home. Windows are currently aluminum frame. I would be willing to go with either wood or vinyl (depending on the look).
The windows range in size. 2 of the windows are basement windows.
Please call if you are able to come and provide a quotation. I am at work during work hours so you would either have to quote the job without me there or I could meet you afterhours.
Looking to get this job done asap.
Thanks
The door jam frame for our bathroom door has cracked near the bottom hinge. The faceplate piece of wood has to be replaced and painted and the door has to be remounted. The door frame is ornamental. Please provide a quote to repair and repaint to match surrounding area and mount door.
We have 8 windows that are foggy. We had a contractor come in and we were told that because of the many years the windows have been in that condition, the process to remove the fog is not able to be done. Therefore, we just want to replace the panes. We are selling the house. The size are the standard small medium size windows, about 24x24.
Good afternoon,
We would like to install some automatic sliding doors at our main entrance to provide wheelchair accessibility. What are the requirements to get this project underway (i.e. are architectural drawings necessary?). There are two sets of doors that come into play along with some framework that has to be taken down. The gradual slope leading up to the building also has to be constructed.
