I just bought a house and would like to do a basic bathroom update, pretty much as soon as I take possession (beginning of May).
It's a small bathroom, with a tub/shower, toilet and sink.
I won't necessarily need a new sink or tub or toilet. The main thing I'd like to update is the flooring and walls. I can provide pictures of this if you like.
The other thing I'd consider doing while I'm having this done is replacing the drain piping, which has a small lead section but is mostly cast iron. My home inspector suggested that it would be a good idea to get this done.
I am on a budget, so I don't want anything fancy -- just solid, practical, and decent-looking. At the same time, I'm looking for quality, detail-oriented work from a contractor who stands behind her/his work. Aside from price, I also tend towards working with folks who take the time to explain in detail what they are doing and give me options, rather than just assuming that they know best. Hope this makes sense.
Do get in touch. I will want to licensing information, if you are insured, etc.
I have recently bought an IKEA free standing vanity with sink. My wife put most of it together, but I can't find someone to install it to the bathroom wall which is tiled. It's roughly 24 inches in width, and 23 1/2 in length. Once it's installed, I will call the plumber to hook up the sink, and then I will attach the drawers. Should only take about half an hour.
We live in the Exhibition Park area of Guelph and are looking for some quotes on renovations to our house (powder room in existing front hall closet/landing to basement). A load bearing wall taken down between kitchen and dining room. New floors and ceiling in living/dining room etc. Thanks!

Upstairs bath for rental property
- New vinyl floor put in (Real easy self adhesive stuff... come in 1x3 ft strips)
- Due to the above it'll need new trim put in (I can buy and provide)
- Heating register will need to come out +capped
Other:
While not "needed" there are a few other heating registers that need to come out and capped that are not being used. Would you be able to do that and put trim over it? Probably 4 or 5 in total.
There will probably be a bit of space over each register that will need a small drywall repair as well. I will provide trim+bathroom floor.
What would I be looking at in terms of a quote? Would you be available over the next couple weeks? Find enclosed pictures of bathroom.
Thanks,
Adam
Looking to add a 3-piece bathroom (toilet, shower, sink) into a basement. Based on height of clean out (3 feet from bottom of floor) ejector pit may be necessary.
We have a semi-finished basement in a house built in 1908 in downtown guelph. The original basement was a root cellar. House has been underpinned.
Hi - we just purchased a property (bungalow) in Guelph and were looking to update and reconfigure the kitchen for better efficiency as well as build an ensuite bathroom, if possible. Scope depends on how much it will cost so will require quotes for a new bathroom build (including adding plumbing), as well as kitchen design. Is this something your team can assist us with? We close on the home on May 2nd, and were hoping to get work started soon after that. Please let us know. Thanks.
Total re-design, a gut job of small space, likely requires a replacement stack for plumbing. I can do all the demo work and build the cabinetry after design is finalized, i can also source all the fixtures. I would like the build to be very tough, because i will eventually be used as student housing, so i'm thinking a significant amount of tiling on the floor and up the walls. My budget is 9,000 i don't want a bathtub so it'll be just a standup shower.
I am the owner of a bungalow built in 1967 that is need of several upgrades! First project: Main Bathroom Remodel.
Measures 9ft 6in from door to window by 4ft 2in from wall to edge of tub. The tub runs parallel to the 9ft 6 in wall. Along 9ft 6in wall is a large cabinet with single sink, outdated fixtures and medicine cabinet, and toilet.
Here's what I'm looking for:
-Replace existing bathtub and vinyl surround. Take it down to frame. I anticipate water damage behind bathtub walls.
-Toilet is salvageable
-Replace single--sink vanity that is affixed to wal with large medicine cabinet with:two-sink vanity & mirror (possibly a tall/skinny cabinet for storage). Toilet is currently at the end of the vanity.
-Replace 4" square tiles that are from floor to 48" up on all walls with up to date materials
-Replace bathroom fixture and taps/showerhead
-Repair/replace fan as it is not working optimally
-Replace window (36" x 36") and trim
-Replace 12" laminate tiles and trim with easy to maintain flooring
Not looking for anything fancy such as marble, heated flooring, ceramic tiles - just an update that iss clean, fresh and easy to maintain. This is the main bathroom and the only shower/bathtub so timely completion is important to us.
Claw foot tub to be removed, new regular style tub installed as well as new toilet and vanity.
Plumbing to be re-structured to accommodate shower over bathtub.
Floor will need to be replaced.
Move wall 2 feet into adjacent room to enlarge bathroom (this is not a supporting wall, so can be moved)
25 year old home in need of main bathroom facelift.
We do not need to move the location of any fixtures, the layout can stay the same.
Need to take out laminate floor, vanity, toilet, tub and tiles. Would like to put in ceramic tiles, a new vanity with drawers or cupboard space, an undermount sink, new toilet, tub and tiles.
Home owner can paint after new fixtures have been installed.
I would like to redo my bathroom, and take out my living room ceiling and replace it. There is a leakage issue when using the shower/bath. Would like that to be fixed, new tiles, new floor, a new whirlpool tub, new toilet and new vanity. Would also like the walls and ceiling to be repainted. Thanks
I wish to renovate 3 25-year old bathrooms. There are two rooms with tub/shower and 1 with shower only. All three have plastic tub/shower inserts I wish removed. All three will need new cabinetry/mirrors and new floors, but the basic layouts will all remain the same. Want to keep the two tubs.
I am not trying to do this on the cheap, but also do not wish to spend a fortune: I am looking for end results that reflect the quality of my current home.
Hello,
I am looking to get my 3 bathrooms re done ( not all at once but in phases so we aren't out a bathroom for long) I have a basement bathroom with a sink vanity, toliet and corner shower, a half bath & a main bathroom with sink vanity, toilet and bathtub/shower combo.
All 3 bathrooms will need new flooring, lighting and GIC outlets & the basement bath will need a new shower, new bathroom fan, vanity & toilet (wanted to use the newer toliet from the half bath), the half bath will need a new toilet, vanity (move the one from the main bathroom down there), the main bath will need new everything.
Thank you
Bathroom installation on the second floor. The room used to be a small bedroom. Also changing the location of washer and dryer, change the kitchen floor, remove a small wall, bulk heads in kitchenette, maybe installing a bench under the window, installing a light in dining room.
The budget maybe adjusted if need be.
Seeking bathroom renovation for approx 6'x8' bathroom. Can provide photos of space as-is.
- Would like to see quotes for demoing vs. non-demoing. We can possibly do demo in advance, but would need a bin regardless
- Move plumbing for shower from interior wall to exterior wall (where plumbing for toilet/sink are currently)
- Replace shower with glass surround tub (see attached)
- Tile tub surround with marble or marble-style (see attached)
- Replace vent/fan
- Tile floor
- Would like to see pricing for 2 potlights
- We would provide vanity/toilet/vanity lighting to be installed
- If cheaper for us to source, we can provide tiles
- Paint not required
Hard maximum is $7,000, inclusive of vanity/tub/tile, but preference will be given to those that come under. If us doing demo/sourcing helps budget, we will do so.
We have a leak and moisture problems in our bathroom, among other issues. Bathroom was re-done by previous homeowner a few years back, but a poor job was done in pretty much every area. As such, we would like to tear down and do from scratch.
Size of the bathroom about 5x7 with a height of about 8 feet. The bathtub spans the one wall, and has a window in it.
We don't have plans to change the existing fixtures. Toilet, sink and bathtub will more than likely remain.
Looking to re-do tiling in a simple, plain white.
We only have one shower, so a quick turnaround is something that is important to us.
Our bathroom needs to be gutted and rebuilt including waterproofing around the tub and shower. It has a one sink vanity, toilet, tub/shower. All to be replaced. Currently has lino floor to be replaced with tile. Parts of sub floor will need to be replaced as well as some drywall due to water damage.
THIS PROJECT NEEDS TO BE DONE IN JANUARY OR FEBRUARY. PLEASE ONLY RESPOND IF YOU ARE ABLE TO COMMIT TO 1) Showing up for the appointment for the quote and 2) Completing the project before the end of February.
This bathroom need to be demolished and completely gutted as there are mould issues. It needs new green drywall, new bathtub with ceramic tiles completely covering all bathtub walls, new one-piece toilet, new vanity, sink, and fixtures, new fan, lighting, ditra on floor with new ceramic tiles.
Removal of old clawfoot bathtub, installation of new bathtub and showerhead, with wall at one end.
Installation of new flooring, removal of old toilet and vanity and installation of new.
We have already purchased the tub, vanity, flooring and toilet.
This is a very small bathroom in a part of the house which is approximately 80 years old.
