We are looking at adding an addition to our two story 3 bedroom brick home. It is currently around 1200 sqft and is approx 90 yrs old. At this point we are trying to get a few quotes for adding a addition off the back. Ideally two story with a master bedroom up top and a kitchen on the main floor.
We are looking at adding approx 800 sq ft.
We would like to construct a new bathroom and a large living room to the back of our 100+ year old downtown Guelph bungalow. The existing bathroom and a closet will have to be removed, and the proposed addition will be roughly 350 square feet with a high sloping ceiling and many windows. The foundation of the addition will be a crawlspace.
Thank you very much,
Jonathan and Julie
We would like to add two stories 35 X 20 to back of our home. Our bungalow is 40 X 25 and a family room (Formerly sun room) in the back of the house sized 12 X 20.
We would like to remove our family room and add two stories (36 X 20) back of the house with two bedrooms and a wash room upstairs and family room in the ground floor. A rec room and a bed room in the basement.
In addition to this we would like to get a separate quote to extend our 14 x 20 garage in to 20 x 20 .
Thanks,
Murali

We have a 960 sq. ft. 1970's side split with a nice sized yard. We need to upgrade because of a growing family and would like a contractor to give us options as to what can be done. This would probably involve adding to our basement. We would like a garage, but don't know if it would work with a house expansion.
We live in a 1070 sq. foot bungalow. We would like to build a master bedroom on top of our house(if possible). Our house is approx. 60 years old, and made of plaster. About 4 years ago we renovated our basement (professionally). In Dec. we had all new windows put in. We also have an onground pool in the backyard. We would like french doors leading to a deck or balcony. Instead of duct work for heat, we would like to install a gas fireplace. We would also consider an ensuite.
We are considering adding a second storey to our 1903 700 sq foot bungalow. We need more space, but due to lot size it looks as though going up is our only option. We were hoping for a modular addition to save time on the project, but are having difficulty finding a company that services Guelph. We have ideas of what we are looking for, but are at the very beginning of the process.
We are looking into adding a second storey to our Guelph bungalow. The main floor is approximately 950sqft, and we would be looking to add the second floor in order to create additional bedrooms/bathrooms. May also include a re-arranging of the main floor. At this point we don't really have an idea of the scope of the project, therefore looking for someone willing to meet with us and discuss feasibility and give a quote of cost. Thank you
approx. 750 square foot, 100 year old home. We are looking for a general contractor who can handle all the surprises that come with renovating an old house and will take care of everything from permits to insurance. Ideally I would like a second floor built built with 3 beds and 1 full bath,a close in each room and new stair and railing system designed and built right to the basement floor. Having already completely gutted the upper floor, there are issues we have seen already such as under sized joists and the north east corner of the house seems to have sunk a little. Basically, my children had been sleeping in a space that should have never been made livable. We would like it kept fairly simple and somehow make the addition suit the 100 year old style.
My husband and I live in the Dufferin neighbourhood in Guelph.
We have a detached garage at the back of our yard that we would like to build upwards with a second story for a rental unit apartment. The garage is currently built on a cement slab. The floor space is roughly 450 sq feet.
We would like to have this as self-contained second story apartment that would have stairs built outside the garage that would not access to the lower portion of the garage, and a small patio balcony space for the unit as well.
While we can do the finishing touches with drywall, painting, and lighting, we are looking for a company who can do the construction, electrical and plumbing. We would like to have the garage built with a wood finish, but we would consider a vinyl siding as well.
We are happy to get this project started at your convenience.
Cheers.
Looking into adding a small 2 storey rear addition to back of a 1.5 storey century house. Approx 10x10' inside space each level. Den on main level, bedroom expansion upstairs. Roof line would have to be rebuilt. No basement required. See photo - rebuild small white siding addition on left to accommodate den and extend to 2nd floor. Chimney has been removed.
We are looking at adding a small addition for our mother to move in to. We live in a small two story with attached garage. The preferred location of the addition would be behind the garage and adjacent to our living room at the back of the house. Presently there is a flagstone patio in place that would be moved. There is also the gas meter and a vent for a gas fireplace that would need to be moved. The space is 10 by 13 but ther is room to exend further than 13 feet but cannot go wider than 10 feet. The electrical panel is in the garage.
We are looking to add enough space for a 3 piece bath as we don't have a main floor bathroom and an area for a single bed and a large chair/loveseat to watch TV. No need for anything else as she would use our present kitchen. We are serious and are looking to start the process asap. We will gladly show the space.
Thanks. My name is John.
We are interested in an upper floor addition of approx 22 x 21.8 ft (480 Sq Ft) built above the 2 bedrooms of a section of our back split home here in Guelph. That would require building stairs from the main bedroom to the added floor. Regarding the additional room itself, we would like it fairly simple, open for multiple purposes (office and TV room in most of the space) and with a single wall division at about 8 ft from one edge of the room, to later build a walk in closet. The only special requirement would be large windows at the East end and one or two skylights at the edge where the closet would be located, but no washrooms would be required. We have preliminary drawings of the existing floors (available upon request).
Would you be able to provide a broad preliminary estimate of the cost of the addition?
