Bathroom gut and redo in an older home we had a flood and found some surprises. If possible we would like to make the bathroom bigger by going into the spare bedroom next to it. We would have to see the cost vs the added value to the home. But none the less the bathroom needs to be re done. We are looking for someone who would be able to take on the project sooner than later.
Unfinished part of basement- want to put in toilet sink and shower. Close to existing stack and drain. Will need drop ceiling (14ft high basement) new floor and 2 new walls plus drywall and finish on other two walls. Rough idea of cost assume tiled shower but modest toilet and vanity. Space is about 12- 15 sq m(lots more available but not necessary). Permits necessary as far as I can tell.
Hi,
I'm looking to split an oversized 3 pieces bathroom into an ensuite and a bathroom upstairswed want the one bathroom tiled and use the existing claw foot tub and vanity, upgrade the toilet. The ensuite would be a nice stone and glass shower stall (~40"x40"), s new toilet, and of course the new wall that divides the two bathrooms and a door cut into the wall for the ensuite.
Also, we're looking to knock down some walls on the main floor and rearrange a 2 pieces bathroom. In the kitchen we want to put in a small island with a small sink. The kitchen currently has tile and I believe it still has original hardwood below that we would like to restore.
At the end we'd be looking to paint basically the entire house.
I imagine it will be kind of hard to quote the job without stopping in to see the place so I can point out exactly what we want.
Let me know if you're available to swing by or chat on the phone.
Kind regards,
Cameron
we want to add a 2nd bathroom to our basement. there is a toilet stuck in a corner beside our furnance, and a base of a shower stall. so the drainage and piping are all easily accessible. We want to have a toilet, vanity/sink and a shower stall. I am looking for a "estimate" of price and I can email pictures if need be.
My mother lives in Hamilton and wants to have her bathroom redone. Has not been done in about 40 years. A friend of a neighbour was going to do the job if she bought the tub ( which she really didn't want. She wants a walk in shower because she has problems stepping over the tub.) and tiles and he would do the job for her. Turns out he doesn't want to do the job now and she is stuck. I am trying to find someone that could call her and give her a quote on redoing her bathroom. She does not have an email address. Her name is Alda.
Thank you.
My apologies that I am unable to post a picture at this time, however, I will describe the project to the best of my ability. The bathroom is quite small, with the sink, toilet, and a tiny shower enclosure squeezed together. I loathe the plastic shower enclosure installed there currently and would like to get a custom tiled shower installed instead which will obviously involve plumbing. Its an old building so that worries me. The bathroom tiles would probably have to be removed. I would also like a vanity. I have gotten a few estimates around 500-700 dollars with cost of materials included but they were not licensed professionals and it sounded a little too good to be true. I had a horrible experience with remodeling the rest of my residence with the contractor leaving everything undone or shoddy at best. I had made the mistake of paying him in full so I suffered a loss of about 2 grand. I'm a student at university and I am hopeful that I will not experience that again. Its a financial loss which is hard to sustain for anyone but much more so for a newly wed university student! If you think that you would be interested in this job, please contact me. I would like this to be done before the end of January at the best, most fair price by someone who knows what they are doing.

Full bathroom reno needed in our own home. Has not been updated in over 20 years.
It is a very small bathroom. Aprox 60 square feet. In need of a full gut.
New tub, vanity, and tiles needed.
May considering bumping out the wall to expand the room space if the price is right.
Husband can do complete gut prior to start of job.
Main bath needs to be renovated. The reno will require the removal of one wall to enlarge the bathroom. The tub will stay where it is and the toilet will stay where it is, only the sink and Vanity will move as that wall will be moved out to enlarge bathroom. No windows involved. Wall is to be moved, a little electrical to change and heating vent to change and plumbing for vanity/ sink. Tile flooring to be put in. The bath will go from about 9'x4 to 9'x8'. Some other room tile flooring will be required as well, about 30sf. I would like a price based on labour only, we will supply the sink, vanity, flooring
- The frameless shower was poorly installed by the previous owner. Would like it reinstalled if possible to save money or have a new shower installed.
- Need new double sink vanity installed.
- New light fixture above vanity installed.
- Tile near shower is unlevel. Possibly level the tile with grout and install luxury vinyl over top?
- Replace the existing whirlpool tub with a freestanding tub.
I am refurbishing a one bedroom rental over top my wife's yoga studio. I need someone to reno the bathroom. There maybe other jobs but this is the most important right now. I need it complete by Feb 1/17. Please let me know if you are interested and can fit this job in within my timeframe. The location is Main street east close to Wentworth.
Thanks
Hello!
I need a bathroom re-tiled, plumbing for a shower, a toilet installed and a new vanity/bathtub installed. Possibly a shower stall installed as well, depending on cost.
We've already ripped out rotting wood around the old toilet, so i expect there will be some around the old bathtub as well.
Tear out bathroom with tub/tile, replace tub with a soaker and tile shower with inset shelves, install exhaust fan, replace flooring with ceramic, new low flow toilet, new vanity with quartz countertop, bathroom dimensions: ~11'4" x 5', budget keep under $10,000.
Looking for a reliable cost effective person to gut and completely renovate a 1 bathroom in a house and install window fan lights tile and vanity and toilet and shower bench and niches and shower, and floor in the Hamilton Ontario area, As it is a one bathroom home need done in the summer early fall only.
I need to gut my bathroom. The floor and walls need to come out. The floor needs to be levelled and I'd like to put in mould-resistent drywall. I need a new bathtub (I'll get the vanity and the toilet is only a year old so that can stay). I would like the bathtub surround tiled and the floor tiled. I might need to replace the ceiling. I'd like an electrical plug put in (there is currently only lighting) and perhaps an exhaust fan installed. I'd like to get a consultation and a quotation if possible. The bathroom is very small - approx. 25 square feet not including the footprint of the tub and vanity. I live in east Hamilton. Thanks.
I have a very small 3 piece bathroom in need of finishing. It is about 50 sq ft. The pieces that are in there now (toilet, pedestal sink and tub) are all new.. a year or so old and I would like to keep them.
What I need is everything taken out... new cement board put up around the tub... new drywall on the other walls. Pipes insulated, new tile around the bathtub and the rest of the bathroom finished. (small flooring area, very small) and the walls either tiled or painted and a new vanity mirror put up (which I will purchase).
You may have to reframe the walls as the house is older and obviously settled.
Please give me a rough idea on price before I invite you in to view to give me a firm price. If you require any additional information, please contract.
This is the only bathroom in the house.
Looking to choose a contractor and have it done in April.
small, old bathroom, needs removal of bathtub/ vinyl surround, sink/vanity, wall wainscotting
needs new tub and vanity installed, walls and tub surround ceramic tiled, fx or replace bathroom window, ceramic on floor installed - vinyl is down at moment, painting of walls, install new mirror and light fixture, and possibly new door
The house is in the Pier 4 area of Hamilton and is an old home (75+ years) in good condition. Instead of moving, my husband and I have decided upon renovating our home to suit our needs. With the plans for the waterfront and the new GO train to Liuna station literally a couple of minutes from our doorstep, we can't think of a better place to be. So we would like to form a relationship with a good contractor who might like some work over the next couple of years (bathroom now, then kitchen, then the attic). I did use Rob's Contracting via this site for my last project and was very happy with the combination of price and quality but hisphone is out of service - Rob, if you are out there and still in business, contact me.
We would like to add a tub to the shower in our upstairs washroom. The washroom is very small and so would need to be extended into the bedroom in order to have room for a tub.
Approximate measurements are included in attached images. The updated floor plan is our guess as to the best way to accomplish adding a tub but we're open to suggestions. We have not made any decisions on materials, however we would likely lean towards budget materials.
In addition to the bathroom reno, there is a corner closet in the bedroom across the hall that we would like to have removed. This is much lower priority than the bathroom renovation but we thought that would likely make sense to tackle while doing other work upstairs.
1. Full bathroom renovations (6.5ft x 5.5ft); rearrange layout, install pocket door
2. remove wall between two rooms and remove closet
3. remove carpet and install hardwood floor in 2nd flr hallway (apprx 19x3ft), main room (after wall is removed, approx 10 x 20ft), stairs (12 steps, about 2.5ft wide)
