Looking for baseboard installed/painted in our basement. No doors or windows, casing is already on those areas. Approx 50 linear ft of baseboard needed, measurements TBD.
Also, one of our basement windows broke. Would like to get this either replaced with a window or a piece of glass, depending on cost.
Hello,
We have a townhouse in West Mountain area in Hamilton.
Looking to finish the basement which includes adding a 3 piece bathroom, moving the laundry.
Looking for framers, drywallers, tapers, flooring, carpenter for door jambs and trims, plumbers and electricians.
We are planning to sell in April.
Hopefully we can find someone with good work ethic that also we can afford :)
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Need a guardrail installed along basement stairs (6 steps & landing) and a support post at the base of stairs to support upper levels. Will have permits/drawings for the support post already, just need someone to carry out the work. The house is a century home, built in 1920. Located in downtown Hamilton. Must be complete by August 30.
Looking for a contractor who can do the following in our finished basement:
- Frame in a new wall at the back of our basement for storage room & install a door
- Add shelving and storage around fireplace
- Brick or stone work around fireplace
- Add shelving above washer and dryer
- New stairs and landing installed
Looking to get our bathroom done.
- Remove floor tile and wall tile
- Remove sink, toilet, vanity
- Put in vent/fan
- Put in sliding door/barn door
- Install new floor tile
- Install wall tile in shower stall only
- Install shower niche
- Remove "bump out" in shower and create a flush wall where shower head comes directly out
- Create closet on other side of shower wall (hall) where bump out was
- Put in new wood bannister (modern/contemporary plain square/rectangular bannister)
- Fix stairs and install new steps (new treads not required)
- Install new basic bedroom door
Looking to get the above job done. WE ARE NOT IN A RUSH!
We are just looking for the best people for the job who will be honest, reliable and do a good job. We can work with your timeline.
We will also be looking at doing our floors and kitchen in the future.
We recently removed the old lathe and plaster walls from our bedroom, put in insulation and vapour barrier, and drywalled/painted the walls. The only thing left to do is add in some new trim/baseboards as well as two new door frames/trim (doors already installed) and one window frame/trim (window also fully installed). Some of the gaps between the floor boards and walls are a bit wider so we would like to add some quarter round pieces to the trim. There may also be a bit of plaster patching in the hallway that needs to be done around the outside of the door frame as some of it was a bit messy coming off. We own the house and the room is roughly about 16x12 FT. Please contact us if you're interested in this relatively small finishing job. Thanks!
Currently have carpeting on 14 steps. I will remove the carpeting. The spindles will have to be taken out and then replaced. Then stair threads (veneers) both steps and risers that can be bought at Home Depot or Lowe's will have to be placed over the existing stairs trying to match the current oak color that I have now.
Need fence removal of old which is the old metal fence and we would like a new fence with the lattice, throughout with the partial lattice on top, works out to be 5-6 feet. 60 feet. MUST be taken out and removed, so that will be your responsibility.
#2 separate quote. We would like a porch on front of the house, we would like of course, railing with the black metal spinals? Size will be 6 by 12, and will cover the old existing concrete steps. Stairs to exist on the drive that will also be replaced at a later date.
We are both retired and I am disabled and that is the reason for the porch, all is needed so bad but the budget is tight. A BOX WILL BE REQUIRED TO REMOVE FENCE WE HAVE BEEN HERE FOR 40 YEARS...
In a 7x5=35sq ft washroom, we need a Vent/Exhaust Fan installed. There is no existing Vent/Exhaust Fan so an electrician is required and a roofer to vent it out.
We would like an Attic Ladder/Folding Stairs installed, along with a light installed in our attic. We would like to utilize the attic for storage space.
First Option – Small Job
Currently I have a non-centred garage entrance that needs to be centred leaving a framed opening @ 7ft x6ft to accommodate a new garage door (supplied by a different contractor). The old garage doors are OLD 'barn doors' that open out and do not lift up into the garage. This is viewed as a small job for a carpenter with about a 1-day effort. For this, I do not require financing.
Second option – Larger Project
My overall plan starts with centering the garage door opening, followed by overlaying the wood with vinyl siding, and replacing the ‘barn doors’ with a new garage door. If the overall job (siding, centering, new door) is to be completed by the bidder, I would require financing.
I have a shelf in my classroom I need removed, it's attached to the floor. Once it's removed the flooring needs to be replaced, trying to match the existing flooring and then adding some shelving on the walls above, children height.
I am looking for someone to come and give me some quotes.
Thank you
Require aproximately 280 linear feet of crown moulding approximately 5-7" in width to be installed in a day.
I would like the crown moulding to be already painted or primed white. Installation is fro a new home main floor with four rooms and a foyer.
I would like an estimate via online or phone.
We are currently looking for a millwork firm to work with us in providing design services along with build services. We own a large commercial building with 4 storefronts in downtown Hamilton that will be undergoing facade improvements.
Our ideal firm would be able to assist us in the design process and provide us with drawings that we can present to our client for feedback and approval. From there, we would require timely execution of the work.
Please reach out to us if you think your firm can be of assistance working with us on this project.
My driveway is currently stone. There is approx 400 sq feet to be paved. At the same time I want to fix the entrance way, the stairs are builder steps and way to deep for my father to walk up. I am open to ideas as this is the first time I am doing this. Also depending on the price and if financing is available that would of course determine materials etc.
I would like exterior stairs put in in Hamilton with landings and a separate entrance. The stairs would start at the backyard and go to the second floor. I would like the contractor to also take care of the required permits.
I want someone licensed with references. I will purchase the materials.
I am renovating a three story house in Hamilton and need stairs from the top floor down to the second floor where a deck/landing will have to be built on a flat roof.
The second floor will also access this deck/landing. Then stairs from the second floor to the ground. This is needed for a second means of egress for the top floor and second floor.
Drawings are needed but not a permit as it will attach to current permit.
Timeline is as soon as the contractor can begin.
Thank you,
Selwyn
Hello,
I am opening a business on the Hamilton mountain. A contractor who built an addition for my home is removing a partition wall but he is extremely booked up at the moment and isn't available for the finishing work, a little framing, trim, potentially installation of some doors if I can find the size. This work would need to be done around end of September, beginning of October. Interested?
Remove/repair 2 upper (3rd level) fire escape landings and remove and replace 1 fire escape roof (3rd level). Upper landings are rotting and the beams and support posts need replacing. Possibly some replacement of rim joists, stair stringers and floor joists as well. Job must be seen.
I need to enclose a TV entertainment unit. I just need the area where the TV sits to have doors. It's an IKEA Lappland unit and I think it's mostly made of particle board which would likely complicate the process a little. The area is 59" wide and 36" tall. I'm open to suggestions as to how to do it. Bi-fold doors. Pocket doors. The tidier the better. But the doors need to be secure. It's a pretty big opening and I figured I couldn't go with materials too heavy because I'm not sure if the unit could handle a lot of weight.
We need the header over our 6 ft living room window replaced. We had an open porch above the window and had water leakage. This appears to have rotted the header. The porch has since been enclosed. The ceiling above the window has now sagged about 2 inches. The window has California shutters on it as well.
