We have an old house with modern electrical (no knob and tube) but would like to run the wiring for two ceiling mounted light fixtures to be installed in our living room/dinning room.
The walls and ceiling are plaster and we would like the room to be returned to its original state after completing the electrical work.
I need an electrician to fit an electrical outlet for a wall sconce on the outside of a Victorian home. No current supply is at that location, but there is wires outside a few feet away for a different light. I hole will need to be drilled in the back and wiring from the top of the bedroom upstairs (suggestion, but other methods might work.
I am looking to get our electrical panel upgraded as we have been told it was recalled and get 220 outlet installed in our detached garage, as just have a 110 circuit currently. We also need our plumbing stack replaced as it is very old and are planning on upgrading some things in the bathroom as well.
We would like to have an electrician change our fuse panel to a breaker panel.
We also want 2 extra light fixtures and light switches added (with all wiring) in basement.
We would also like electrical run for a stove and one new plug added with wiring in lower level
Add one plug in upper bathroom with wiring as none currently exists.
Add GFI switches to fuse panel on some circuts.
Project located in central Hamilton on the mountain. Work to begin immediately.
Three outlets in our home have stopped working. With the receptacle tester, we are getting an "Open Hot" reading.
Willing to schedule work to be completed with licensed / insured electrician. Budget is negotiable should there be further needed work.
If possible, please provide us with your initial diagnosis rates, and per hour rates.
Email/Text preferred.
For phone calls, please leave a detailed message.
Thank you, in advance.
We are looking to update our current electrical system throughout our house. We live in a house built in the 70s, and the electrical does not look ot have been touched since. We have aluminum wiring throughout the house, as well as a CSB 100 amp fuse box. We have heard a lot about the concerns regarding mixing copper and aluminum wiring, as well are having some concerns as some of the older outlets do not work. We are looking to update it all by putting in a new breaker panel, rewiring the house with copper wiring, as well as replacing a lot of the older outlets and fixtures. We are looking to find out information with what all would be involved with this type of project such as permits, inspections required, timeline, cost, as well as damage to things like the drywall and the rest of the house.
Thanks

Hi There,
I have recently purchased an investment property in Hamilton.
It is a century old Edwardian house configured into 4 rental units.
The home inspector discovered some new and some old (knob & tube) wiring plus some not up-to-code issues. Some of these include some improperly installed wiring and junction boxes.
I would like to get a quote on bringing the wiring for the house up-to-code.
Currently, there are three hydro meters; I would also like to install another one (for the common areas incl. the basement).
The house has 10 rooms, 4 kitchens, 4 bathrooms, unfinished basement with the footage of about 2500 square feet.
Regards,
Greg
-37 year old home
-wiring is nonsensical, too many rooms/receptacles/lights per breaker, disorderly pattern of breakers/rooms
-some breakers not assigned?
-aluminium wiring, w/copper upgrades at boxes
-'hot' neutral wires
We have experienced a short that has taken power from a bedroom, two hallways, and a bathroom. All the assigned breakers test as working. HELP!
We are property owners, who need 2 stoves removed (wired into the wall), one stove socket installed. 2 lights/socket repair and installation. ASAP in the Hamilton area.
We also have other work to be done-specifically a kitchen reno. Looking to use Ikea cabinets. They will plan the kitchen and I can use them for the install, if you're not interested in that. Still need help with plumbing, electrical, floor, ceiling and some wall work including back splash.
1) Replace the kitchen exhaust fan and hood
2) Install exhaust fan in 2 washrooms
3) Install smoke alarm on 3rd floor
3) Some outlet switches are not working to see if that can be fixed
4) We have a switch near fireplace but it doesn't do anything and the fireplace is not working. I was wondering if that can be looked at.
Looking for someone to help figure out an electrical issue. My partner and I switched out a light switch and socket in a main floor washroom. We turned off the relevant breaker before doing the work. When we turned the breaker back on, no power returned to the bathroom and other rooms on the same circuit. There is a GFI at the panel but no GFI, that we can see anywhere else along the circuit. There also appears to be nothing wrong with the relevant breaker as well. Looking for a quote for someone to come out and have a link.
Would like to install a google security camera which requires to be plugged in. I don’t have an outside electrical outlet.
Scope - assess the need to have the camera plugged in and, I assume, we will need a electrical outlet installed.
There is an outdoor light that maybe could be tied in to?

Looking for an electrian to upgrade current house amp wattage to 100. House's fuse panel states the house currently has 100amp service but the actual wire connected to the house needs to be upgraded to the 100amp.
The house is already sold and this is a condition that needs to be met prior to closing on March 27th. Ontario Hydro will also need to come and inspect the work to verify completion for the new owners.
Quotes and a timeline would be appreciated.
I'd like an electrician to replace the dated wiring, fix some interesting solutions, and rough in an outlet for a washer and dryer.
It's a 1893 double brick, lathe and plaster home. We'll be working in about 1700 sqft. Most of it has already been removed but parts have been left for us.
We are looking for an electrician to reroute the wiring in the basement so that it all goes through the currently exposed joist space (rather than below it), so that we can finish the ceiling.
We also need 2 baseboard heaters installed on the third floor and a security light installed at the back of the house.
The house is an old one, built in the late 1800s but all of the wiring and breaker panels are up to date.
We are a property management company located in Burlington.
We are looking for a licensed and master electrician for a job in Hamilton.
We need the house rewired and the panel changed from 60 AMPs to 200 AMPS (it will be converting into a student rental).
More information can be provided on the job site. This job is requested immediately and we need quotes ASAP.
Thanks,
Taylor
I’m a new homeowner in East Hamilton. I need an exhaust vent installed in the main floor bathroom of a small bungalow. I’m pretty sure the house is cladding/tentest. It has plastic siding. The distance from the vent location to the exterior of the house is about 5 feet.
Not sure if you’ll be able to quote without seeing the job. If this goes well there are 2 or 3 other small jobs that need doing here! Please let me know if you want to arrange s time to come over and have a look. I work night shifts so mid afternoon into evening is best for me.
Nick
I have a very small and simple job, and looking for a cost effective repair from an ESA licensed Electrician in the Hamilton Area. The home is located near Upper James and Mohawk.
We removed an old addition at the rear of the house, and basically there were some electrical items that were previously okay for interior use but is now exposed to the outside.
Scope of work:
1. Loose wire hanging that needs to be placed in a plastic conduit and secured to the brick wall.
2. Attached to this wire is a junction box that is also not rated for exterior that needs to be replaced.
3. There is a 2-gang box containing a switch and an outlet off of the same circuit at the bottom of a basement walkout that needs to be changed to an exterior type.
4. Light fixture that need to be changed to the exterior.
I am okay with going with the lowest cost materials as long as it meets code. I have attached some photos. If you can provide me with a ballpark quote that would be great.
Thanks,
Andy
