I have an existing pine floor approx. 900 Sq. ft that I would like to have refinished - would like to have it stripped, re-stained and refinished as well as have the gaps between the planks filled with a material that will last. Please submit some kind of plus or minus price range so that we do not waste each others time. Also would like to know what material you use to fill the gaps so that I can check it out prior to having you officially quote the work. Looking for someone local to the Hamilton area - the job is on the west mountain in Hamilton ontario
I take possession of a bungalow on August 6th and move in Aug 22nd.
The main floor is carpetted over 39yr old maple flooring in living/dining/hallway/bedrooms(3). I am not certain of the condition of the floors but based on initial observation they seem in good shape.
I want to stain to a darker colour and refinish the main floor.
I am also planning on laying new engineered hardwood in 1/2 the basement and new ceramics in the other half.
If the refinishing company does good work, I would look for additional quotes on any of the basement that they could do.
I am looking for a quote on the main floor work and can have someone come to the house to assess beginning on Monday, August 8th.
We just bought a new house and would like to pull up the wall-to-wall carpet and finish the hardwood floors. The rooms include living room (13x14), dining room (12x12), foyer, stairs, upstairs hallway, and two bedrooms (11x14 and 11x10) (one bedroom will remain carpeted).
I would like quotes for the full job including carpet removal as well as for just sanding and finishing the floors (to see what we save by pulling up the carpet ourselves).
3 small bedrooms and a living room, approximately 500 square feet of hardwood flooring requires refinishing. The age of the house is unknown but is on Brucedale in Hamilton and is most likely over 50 years old. We want to move in ASAP but would like to get the floors done before doing so, therefore time for completion is a major factor.
I've been looking around the Hamilton area for quotes to have my floors resurfaced and was wondering if someone could provide me with a reasonable quote through this service.
I have recently purchased an older home on the East mountain and it is in some serious need of some work. The home is a 1.5 story home built in the 50's and has hardwood on the main floor (dining room, living room, bedroom/study, hallway, stairs) as well as the upper floor (two bedrooms, hallway, stairs). The bedrooms are approximately 10'x10', the living room is approximately 15'x8' and the dining room is approximately 8'x8'. Unfortunately, I can't get better room size estimates as I don't take possession until Dec 10th. I was hoping to have this work done before I begin to move my belongings in (early January) as I'm sure this work will be much easier to do while the house is completely empty.
It's probably a bit short notice, especially with the upcoming holidays, but would greatly appreciate having this work done between Dec 11th to early January? Please send me a rough estimate of this work, as well as customer testimonials, before/after pictures etc, if you feel capable and qualified to handle this work.
I have original hardwoods in a house I just purchased, located on the mountain in Hamilton.
Age of house: built in 1970
Dimension of rooms
Living room: 17.2 x 13.5
Bedroom 1: 11.6 x 9.11
Bedroom 2: 10.10 x 9.6
Bedroom 3: 10.9 x 11.3
I would like them to remain the natural colour.
My furniture and my dog arrive the second week of January. I want to get this all complete while my house is still empty.
I am looking for several quotes, and time lines.
We'll be moving in to a (approx 50 year old) 1 1/2 story house in June and are looking for quotes on removing existing carpet and refinishing the hardwood underneith. The home is in good condition - we just don't like carpet. These are the room sizes for where we are looking to refinish:
living room 17x12.4
master bedroom 10.8x10.4
1st bedroom 12x11.8
2nd bedroom 18x12
around ten steps
Could you give us a ballpark idea of how much we'd be looking at in terms of cost and also how long a project like this could take?
100 year old house near Gage Park, Hamilton. I have removed the old carpeting on the first floor to second floor stairs, 14 plus 4'x4' landing, also the common area on the second floor. The area on the second floor has a thin sub floor that requires removal, there is hardwood underneath. Would like the hardwood refinished.
House built in 1918
Master BEdroom approx 10 x 17 irregular ( will get accurate measurements)
Old tile at Fireplace needs to be avoided
Pine Floor plank style with paint( most likeley oil ) may have 1-2 coats. Original paint.
Carpet has been lifted and 98% of glue from subfloor removed by myself.
Need quote to come in and sand , clean and make Stain ready.Cleanup and sealing of room is paramount. Do not want to be handling lead paint or have seep into rest of house.
Will also consider you doing entire room with stain and varnish if price is right.
Please quote both by $/Square ft
I'm looking to get an quote on having some repair work done on a house I am renting.
I need to have a few holes in walls patched and primed.
I need to have two small areas of a hardwood floor re-stained a dark brown colour.
The ideal time for completing the work would be near the end of June. But, as the job won't take long, we can discuss that.
1948 house needs red oak floors refinished in two or more rooms.
Room 1 = 26' x 11'; Room 2 = 15' x 9'
Carpets cover stairs and another room on second floor, which may or may not have wood. If so, they will have to be refinished as well.
Asking for a quote on the two rooms. How much would it cost to have clear finish over natural VS clear finish over stained??
Yolanda and Paul
We have a two storey stack townhouse with two sets of stairs that we need refinished. They have existing treads and risers but while they were being done, a painter got paint on them, the stain wasn't consistent, they weren't sealed properly, etc. We need them refinished, pickets installed and our old railing refinished and installed.
