I own and operate a small studio fitness facility in the heart of downtown Hamilton and am looking to change the lighting, create some open space for a reception/lounge area (250 sqft) and install glass door into the facility. Also looking to possibly refinish the hard wood floors throughout (2500 sqft).
Looking for somebody to install 2 ceiling fans and put together new furniture being delivered on August 6th - so assembly during the week of Aug 7-13th.
I need the following "ready to assemble" furniture put together:
L shaped desk and hutch
Bedroom set, including:
- platform base with drawers
- large headboard with shelves
- 6 drawer dresser
- 2 drawer nightstand.
Probably looking at up to 2 full days worth of work (I'm estimating about 12-15 hours to put it all together. Please reply with your hourly rate to complete these jobs as well as which days between August 7-13 you are available to do the job.
Circa 1950's 1 1/2 storey home in east end Hamilton needs baseboards, quarter rounds, small plastering job by side door with new doorframe needed and possibly a new kitchen floor. Some of the baseboards are already in place; looking to match what is already there. Owner is currently renting the property but would like to put it on the market soon.
I would like to install a glass shower door and glass shelving inside my shower. The shower opening is approx. 23" wide x 74" tall, contour is marble. Three shelves total - pie shaped, 1 x 12" radius, 2 x 8" radius. Also, I would like 2 x 8" radius glass shelves in the 2nd bathroom.
replace outside water pipe to outside water tap-its been fixed too many times and now needs replacement
trim and prune small tree and bushes
finish off sunshade/gazebo, the structure stayed up on the deck all winter, just needs its top bars and canvass top put on
all of the above are required now.
need a price on fence install for later in the summer.
We've purchased a press board (I think that's what the "wood" that the cabinet is made out of is called) medicine cabinet to hang in the bathroom of our apartment. We drilled a hole in the wall and discovered that the wall consists of about 1-2 inches of plaster over cinder block. We don't have the tools (and possibly the know how) to do this properly so that the cabinet won't come off of the wall and crash down on our toilet. HEEEELLLLLLPPPPPPP!!!!!! I'd like to get it on the wall and off of my dining room table.
Had 2 water related issues.
Basement Half Bath:
Suspected main drain stack leak in wall. Track source of leak, repair leak, some walls if required to remove to locate/fix leak and framing likely to need replacing. Flooring will also need to be redone, currently vinyl and likely replace with the same again.
Leak over the years has rotted out base under sink in the cabinet. Age of the cabinets and this problem mean we're likely in need of having them pulled out, some wall and possible frame repairs as well as cabinet replacement.
Quotes required on these jobs with alternatives provided; potential for other small jobs currently and long term "go to" for all future projects/repairs/upgrades if all goes well. Depending on jobs to be completed, looking for a very quick completion and turnaround (landlord that needs to get unit back up on market)
Ideally need a contractor with flexibility for a weekday evening visit to quote. House is currently vacant so the project can be tackled all day, everyday until complete.
We are going to be buying a new Kitchen and are looking for someone reliable that can install it for us. As well we have damaged plaster walls and a cracked ceiling in the kitchen that need repairing. We are fixing this place up so we can sell and are not looking to spend a lot of time and money on the kitchen. Just to do it properly and make it look nice.
Remove old countertop, disconnet large sink and a bar size sink. Cap off the lines where the bar sink was, we do not want to use it anylonger. Put in new countertop. Size L shape. 106 inches by 32 inches. We will be purchasing a 10 foot and a 3 foot countertop. You would have to cut the corner. Put the sink back in and hook up the plumbing back up.
If you could quote us for this job I would appreciate it. We are looking for someone to install it this week or next. Any day will work for us. If you are unable to do the job this week or next please do not respond. It is a rental property and our renters need the counter changed ASAP. If you can email me your hourly rate and a general idea how long this would probably take I would appreciate it. We can set up a time to meet if you must see the job site.
I'm looking to get an quote on having some repair work done on a house I am renting.
I need to have a few holes in walls patched and primed.
I need to have two small areas of a hardwood floor re-stained a dark brown colour.
The ideal time for completing the work would be near the end of June. But, as the job won't take long, we can discuss that.
We are looking at taking down the wallpaper in our living room and dining room and painting the walls. We have been working on getting the wallpaper off, but it is stuck to the wall and is very difficult to get off. We have been trying for a very long time and it has just gotten too frustrating and time comsuming. About 70% of the paper is off, although most of the sticky backing is still on the wall. In the process the walls have gotten damaged and would need a skim coat done on it to smooth the walls to get ready for painting. As for painting, I am still not sure if we would do that or just have someone do that at the same time as the repairs (if I could get a quote for painting as well, that would be appreciated). The living room is 17 feet 10 inches by 10 feet and the dining room is 11 feet by 9 feet. The living room has 3 walls and the fourth wall goes about halfway (8 feet). The dining room has 3 walls.

I have a few things to be repaired at my house at Westdale, Hamilton:
- Repair or replace broken heating ducts in basement
- Repair or replace heating vents throughout the house
- front door needs weather strips on the outside to stop draft
- replace exhaust fan in bathroom
- reattach the garden gate
- something to seal off the "rock" garden in the front yard so wild weeds cannot grow there
Hi, the below is a mixed bag of items here in the house.
Please let me know if there is something you are either not comfortable doing or not skilled at doing. This is a bit of a diverse list:
- Install projector on the ceiling & mount screen in basement
- Move side access gate out by one panel - I have all the hardware and should have necessary wood.
- Install hot tub cover lifter - I have the lift
- Install decking around hot tub - I will supply the materials, the boards need to be installed in a way that allow me trap access into the pump door. Area needing decking is approx 2'x10' and 4"x 9' with some treatment around the corner/rounded edge of the tub.
- Terminate Approx 20 CAT 5e/6 Cables With An RJ-45 Connector - Cable is already in the walls, I will have the connectors - You will need tools (crimper thingy and wire locator - to make sure we get the right wires connected)
- Leverage existing hole into the basement to add in Cat 5/6 and speaker wire from outdoors into the utility room - I will supply both cables
- Install 2 window covers properly to basement windows
- Fix a kitchen table leg - needs glue and clamps (both I do not have)
- Clean nicks on hallway hutch and bathroom - I do not have the touch up paint for this.
- Inspect about 20 windows for weatherstrip - reapply as needed
- Remove and apply silicon in the master shower
- Apply Stain/Seal to front entrance - I will supply the stain - the Door is approx 3x8 - I think the door will require sanding but you can let me know if it does.
- Clean/Paint nicks & scratches on walls and baseboards - I will supply the paint, no damage to the dry wall or baseboards, just cosmetic
Hi. I am looking for someone who can fix a window that was installed by a previous owner (it is leaking into the drywall inside and may not have been sealed properly or the drainage holes on the outside are clogged?) it is a 3rd floor window. I also need a screen door fixed; my teenage son removed the sliding piece of glass when locked out)
There are a number of smaller jobs; a lightbulb has broken off in a socket and i don't know how to get it out; there is a toilet that needs a new rubber piece/plug? in the tank has a chain that is broken. A small piece of siding also blew off but it looks important, and i need several large pictures wall mounted.
I also need a plumber! I had a backflow valve installed last year after a backup and ever since my house smells like a sewer. (I think the sewer gasses were previously escaping through that pipe because their other exit pipe has occluded with age). It is a 100 yr old house and i have had a lot of plumbing replaced and it was occluded).
Thank you so much!
