I am seeking a contractor with current references that can do the following for a Kitchen Renovation in a West Mountain home. I am seeking a November 1st completion date.
1. Finish walls and ceiling in preparation for cabinetry
2. Measure and provide order details for cabinetry based on design discussion
3. Rip up old tile and install new tile (400ft2)
4. Run any necessary electrical and/or plumbing
5. Demo existing kitchen cabinetry and disposal
I have a budget of $25,000 and do not require financing. This is an older home. We are looking to completely gut the existing kitchen and replace it with updated cabinets, appliances, ceiling (possibly) and flooring. We also intend to remove all or part of a support wall between the existing kitchen and an adjacent family room. This wall contains HVAC and electrical services which will have to be moved. We are considering (though not committed to) removing part of a second support wall (originally an outside wall) to enlarge an adjacent breakfast nook. The main floor kitchen and family room are above a finished basement which has a support post below the main floor support wall which will be removed. The kitchen renovation job entails: removing existing cabinets on three walls; replacing these with new cabinets; removing lathe and plaster on outside walls, insulating and re-drywalling these walls; removing an old, unused chimney which occupies a corner of the kitchen; removing three layers of flooring; installing new flooring (not ceramic); removing all or part of an interior support wall; installing a support beam and a service post for HVAC and electric; drywalling and finishing the space which is created; installing a dry island in the space which is created; possibly removing all or part of a second support wall and installing a support beam; installing a small pantry cabinet in the breakfast nook; possibly moving existing plumbing; installing a natural gas line for a new stove (a gas line exists on the outside of the house within several feet of the kitchen); possibly lowering the existing ceiling to accomodate pot lights; installing additional electrical outlets; possibly replacing a bay window with sliding patio doors; possibly replacing a wooden outside door with a new door; replacing at least one window. there are several other windows elsewhere within the home which require replacing.
Remove all existing cabinets, flooring. Install new pot lights, insulate exterior wall, new drywall.
Upgrade plumbing and electrical. Install new ceramic tile or laminate floor and ceramic back splash. Supply and install new cabinets and counter top. Install new trim, paint kitchen area.
Doing a kitchen makeover. Already have purchased most of the cupboards. Wondering about cost / time involved to have crew come in and take out old cupboards, counter, floor which is currently tiles. May need new sub-floor if damaged (will know once tiles are up). May need some minor drywall repair behind cupboards. I will pick up new backsplash tiles (mosaic) and counter top and floors (ceramic). But will need the crew to do the install of these.
What is the difference in cost if we do the demo ourselves first and then have you come in and do the necessary repairs and re-install the new cupboards, backsplash, flooring, sink, dishwasher? It's a small kitchen....only 6 cupboard sets (2 doors on each), and corner kitchen sink unit. Will need new lighting over sink as well as new fan/light installed in ceiling.
Approx sq footage of kitchen is maybe 400. Thank you....
Thank you
Hi,
I am looking to expand and renovate my main floor kitchen and entranceway at a West Hamilton Mountain bungalow. This would involve taking down an outer wall to build overtop of what is currently a "porch" on the other side of the kitchen window at the front of the house. It would also require a new front entrance to be built.
As well, we would like to have some landscaping done in the front to build a "living area" if possible along the front of the house.
There are a few potential design options and I would like to have someone come out to the house to see it personally and give quotes for the potential options.
Construction can start this year or next. We are flexible.
This is a a 100+ year old house. We are in the process of gutting it from top to bottom. We will need someone to install the cabinetry and the bathroom. (soaker tub, shower, toilet and vanity). We also plan on installing hardwood throughout. There is some plumbing and electrical wich needs to be addressed as well as roof soffit and fascia.
Good afternoon,
We are looking to renovate our kitchen and would like to look into a quote. We would like new floors, kitchen cabinets and possibly opening up part of a wall for a kitchen/living room view. The kitchen is 110 square feet. We would like to move our fridge to the opposite wall which would require moving the kitchen entrance door frame over about a foot.
We would like to do laminate or vinyl flooring and affordable premade cabinets from ikea. Our budget is 10,000 and are willing to do some work ourselves to help bring down the cost to make this project a reality.
Included are pictures of our current kitchen and pictures of a very similar kitchen of a nearby house that we want to model our kitchen after. We would like to transform our kitchen into the one in the pictures that have been provided.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks,
Justin
I need as soon as possible a TRUSTED PRO to work on two kitchens. I posted this job earlier but was unable to follow through because of serious family illness.Am ready to start now as soon as I can find a good honourable company. Please contact only if you are truly going to follow through!
For both my kitchens , I would like to get opinions re either replacing or reprinting my copboards---they both need some configurations made to them. I then also wish to install new backsplashes, quartz counters and perhaps some lighting. Essentially I need a good honest kitchen contractor who will come and get the work done!!
Need kitchen contractors who not only supply new cupboards but will supply crown moulding and new doors and/ or paint exsisting cupboards. I have two kitchens to renovate have many ideas but would like a reputable individual/company who would guide me sincerely and honestly. I will also want the counters done(in quarts preferably) and new faucets installed and some new lighting. So basically a good reliable HONEST KITCHEN CONTRACTOR. I live in Stoney Creek.
I have a kitchen basement whose cabinetry has just been removed in preparation for a kitchen re-model. I am hoping to keep plumbing and venting in the same places but to downsize the former kitchen to a kitchenette, effectively creating more space for move-able storage and seating furniture.
I need a plumber to check the current plumbing and ensure good water pressure to new kitchen sink; I need drywall hung and taped for half the kitchen (kitchen is roughly 14 x 9 ft x 7-8 ft high); I need faucets and range hood installed after new cabinetry is installed and I may need new kitchen flooring (either WPC vinyl plank or ceramics) (current floor is black granite tile).
Complete kitchen renovation which includes removal of internal walls and installation of outside door - conversion of door to window, complete plumbing and electrical installation and alteration, installation of floor, installation of cupboards and appliances, etc. Applicants must be experiences, and have verifiable references from previous clients and the required skill sets to complete the job.
1. Replace existing 3 kitchen surfaces with more modern surface.
2. Remove/replace backsplash to match.
3. Widen doorway between kitchen and family room, remove one upper cabinet, leaving lower cabinet and new surface.
Work must be started Sept 26 and finished by October 6. Can measure and order new tops etc anytime.
This is a surprise for my wife, so need discretion in scheduling site visit.
Kitchen/Dining Room Renovation
We would like to completely renovate our existing kitchen by extending it into the adjacent dining room which is currently separated by what appears to be a load bearing wall. The entire kitchen, including floors will be gutted and redone. The total size of the kitchen would be 24’ x 15’.
In addition to dealing with the load bearing wall, we want to extend the width of the existing kitchen window, cover over the bay window in the dining room and create a new window in the living room area – which will become the new dining room.
We would like to work with a renovation company that has their owner designer or can refer us to a designer that we can work with on the layout/design and provide detailed (preferably 3D) design ideas.
Mudroom/Bathroom Addition
We are also considering adding a mudroom to the side of our home that would also contain a small 2 piece bathroom that would be accessible from both inside and out. We have a pool in the backyard and would like the convenience of having a bathroom accessible directly from the yard. The total combined size of the addition would be 20’ x 10’.
Possible Additional Work
- New hardwood flooring throughout the main hall, upper and lower levels.
- New windows throughout the entire house.
- Design/landscape work in the front yard.
We are looking for experienced professionals that can provide proof of:
- valid business license
- valid trade license for each employee or sub-contractor responsible for skilled trade related work
- valid WSIB
- valid liability insurance
Send us an email explaining why you feel you’re the right company to perform this work. After reviewing all responses and checking your overall customer rating and trust score on TrustedPros we’ll setup appointments for the companies that make it to our shortlist.
We’re hoping to have the work started over the next month or two months and completed before summer.
80 year old home. House is divided into two units. The second floor orignally was 3 bed one bath, would like to transform that floor into 2 large rooms, eat-in kitchen and living/office area, and as well expand the bathroom. If possible would like to build a patio off the kitchen if city permits allow.
I'm looking for a contractor to do small renovations in two rooms in the house. One would be a modification of the laundry room in order to accommodate a stove, fridge etc... in essence renovating the laundry room into a small functional kitchen.
The second minor job is to install a small washer/dryer unit in one of the second floor bedrooms, providing washing/drying capacity for two people but in a reduced space setting.
Thanks
Andre

15 year old house with small kitchen. Looking to add on a 9x14 extension to ouside wall. Presently there is a patio door to a deck with a brick surround wall. Looking for ? sun room or regular addition: price important. floor in kitchen and new area to be hardwood laminate to match adjoining family room. Interested in quotes on new kitchen cupboards but if too pricy will just change sink(double farmhouse type) taps(with water purifier under sink) and countertop(corian or granite) and add pantry in new addition.I would like a french type door for outside access and a bench type sitting window in addition, Material on outside at most economical price. Call for more details Budget is closer to 12-15 thousand not 25 but that was not a catagory option. Thanks for your consideration and bids.
I just purchased my house - its about 35 years old - a townhouse - very simple design . Although there are other things that will need to be done over time, the kitchen will be the biggest job and the most expensive. But at this point I am anxious to get it done. The cupboards are metal and not in the greatest shape, the counter top is not real counter top material and is rotting where the taps are. I would not be surprised if they are the original cupboards.
I really just want something very simple - all white cupboards with some knobs that offset the white, maybe a grey countertop...not granite - something durable but not pricey. This house does not call for a lot of showy pieces.
Clean lines, simple, plain , clean and functional are the requirements.
Of course the existing kitchen would have to be 'removed'....
email me for more information and I will provide whatever you need to know.....
thanks
