We would like to finish the basement on our new home. The space is 650 square feet and is currently untouched except for a laundry area, so will require complete framing, drywalling, flooring etc.
We would like to close off the laundry and cold storage area, add a small area for a shower and sink - needs drain tied into main, create a walk-in dry storage, an HVAC closet, a small work station/cubby and use the largest part of the basement as the living/entertainment/tv room. Ideally we would also like to add a small wet bar and a gas fireplace in this living room. We would also need to finish the stairs leading down into the basement.
Currently our budget is under $25,000.
Looking to finish part of my basement, approx 225 sq feet. The house is 1 year old. I have been doing research on the right way to do things but am lost with all the information out there. From what to use on the concrete floor to the insulation on the walls. There is currently full length batt insulation with vapor barrier on the walls from the builder. Nothing else has been done to the basement.
