Looking to get a larger patio done. Its a newer home (2 Years) so just has grass in backyard. Patio would be approximately 38 ft wide x 15 ft long, basically a rectangle matching width of the back of the house.
We are looking for affordable material options, so not sure if cement, or patio stones would be better, but something to give a professional look.
Timing is flexible, looking at starting either late Fall or Early Spring. We are located in Kitchener in the new Mattamy development at the South end of Fischer Hallman.
Appreciate any replies!
Josh
We have two related concerns about our backyard that likely need to be coordinated.
The first issue is that we feel we should probably have the drainage of our backyard assessed to make sure water is being properly redirected away from the back of our house.
The second is that we have a deck that is taking up a lot of our backyard that we are considering removing. The deck is probably on top of land that would need adjustment for the above drainage issue.
Complicating matters, is that the deck is made of composite planks that we'd prefer not to have to go waste, if possible. We are looking for someone to provide us some options of what we could do about the backyard, preferably without throwing the whole deck in the garbage. For example, if we could remove part of the deck but leave a smaller portion intact.
This job has already been done, but I am not happy with it. Would need a new door, but the windows could be re-used. Would like the door moved from one wall to another wall and the same with a window. The existing job leaks, and there are other things I would like changed. Would like some bricks removed on interior wall and used on outside wall, or opened to suggestions on what to use on outside walls. Considering spray on stucco type finish for outside walls. Once the outer shell gets finished, I would insulate and drywall interior walls on my own to cut costs.
Looking for a professional job which would be weatherproof for the exterior.
Would like to turn the covered porch into a usable deck from above. Taking out the window and replacing with french doors or 6' sliding patio door.
As you can see from picture submitted centre window would be replaced and covered porch area between the centre window to the window on right nearest garage.
We are looking to build a wood deck this year. Dimensions are approx 12 feet x 15 feet (although the deck itself is not a perfect square do to fencing). We would like a height of 9 inches off of the ground and we are looking to have it come right out from a sliding glass door. We will need railings on one edge.and one step down to the lawn.
We have a number of rental properties with various jobs required, but at the moment, the priority is that we have a deck that we need to have inspected to ensure its safety.
It is approx 10 feet off the ground as it leads off the main level and there is a walkout basement below.
We would like to know if the structure is sound and if the boards/railings etc. are safe.
We are looking for someone we can trust to give advice and do any required repairs for us for this and other future jobs that we may have in a range of areas.
Looking for quote to repair. Some wood is rotten. Outer rails mostly. One support post seems to need to be replaced . Supports into wall seem okay. see pics attached.
Sizes (exact or rough estimates) -10ft
Preferred materials - unsure
Specific skills required - insurance
Are you the property owner, tenant, management group or a prospective buyer? - owner
I want to build a deck using Trex materials or a similar material (maybe cheaper).
I have roughed out a plan and scanned it on my computer. Can I send it to you?
I have attached a photo of the deck I would like.
There are two options that I have outlines on the bottom right.
The platform would be 3 1/2 feet ontop on platform or 4 feet 3 inches from the ground.
Hi.
We have a home with a walkout basement and wanting to create access from the front garden to the back garden.
We need someone to :
Build a small 3'x3' deck/landing at the top of the incline.
Build wood steps down the incline
Build a small 3'x3' landing and L-shaped deck walkway around the back of the house to the rear entrance.
We are considering building simple set of steps going down from the main level to back garden. This would run above the L-shaped deck walkway mentioned above.
Please contact me for further details. I am based near the sunrise centre and am looking to get this done asap.
Thanks
Malcolm
Need to replace two posts and railings on front porch. Porch is 10 ft x 4 ft. looking at maintenance free product. previous product(wood) is rotting.
Would like to update current pergola to a closed roof 10ft x 10ft. Only need the roof built with shingles as the posts are already in. Looking at Gazebo Roof.
Need a quote on:
- dismantle and remove existing attached deck
- build new attached deck (12x12) with new railings and stairs.
We believe the existing substructure is fine and will not need replacement, but would like a professional to take a closer look.
Would like price comparison between pressure treated wood and composite.
Looking to line up someone for spring 2020.
Hello,
My partner and I are looking to hire someone to install a fence (approx 180 linear feet 8 feet high pressure treated) and also a deck (approx 350sf pressure treated) off our new patio slider. We would like to know an estimate/quote and what your timelines are currently looking like. Thanks in advance.
Laura
I would to remove and replace my current "front porch," which is an ugly pre-cast cement step with cast iron/aluminum cover (see pics). I would like to install an open, inviting front porch that in appropriate design style complementary to my century home (100+ yr old 2-storey double-brick). I'd like wide steps and a small sitting area.
Outdoor access to second storey. Height from grade is about 13 feet. Includes small landing and stairs making one U-turn. I have a detailed plan from an architect/engineer that can help guide us. It would be built from pressure-treated wood. The second-storey is an addition to our house. There is brick from grade up to about 10 feet. Above the brick there are layers of 2 by 10's to fasten the ledger board(s) to. Please respond if you are able to do this job very soon.
Thanks,
Jason
We are wanting to put in a large patio. Leaning towards concrete with exposed arrogate stone. We also need steps about 6 down to patio (approx. 5' is the distance down).
The patio size we would like would be 400-500 square feet in a rectangle shape.
We would like maybe a darker border around the edge.
We would remove the deck that is there currently ourselves.
We are also wanting to put in black metal fencing around the perimeter approx 150feet. If you do this work as well please give us a quote on that too.
We just bought the home and get it end of June. So we are looking for the work to be done during the first three weeks in July.
We have a 38 unit 3 bedroom townhouse complex with double concrete steps approximately 5" and 10.5" in height. We are looking to install one side railing to the steps for safety reasons.
Would like to get 2 quotes; one for installing black aluminium pro built handrails with wedge anchors, and the other for installing composite rails. If possible we would like to have this done as soon as possible before the winter starts.
Thank you
We are looking to have our front porch resurfaced. The previous owner had painted it. The paint is coming off an it's just a big mess. The steps are falling apart and also need to be replaced with something nicer and full width.
We would also like to get rid of the lock block path and.
We have no idea what a realistic budget would be for this work. But if our budget allowed, we would also like to include the (double) driveway in the project.
We are open to suggestions, but leaning towards a stamped concrete finish.
Your suggestions are welcome and we would be pleased to make arrangements to receive quotes for this project.
Hi, I have a simple project: how much would it cost to build an 8' x 8' base using deck blocks, gravel, pressure treated lumber, and a composite material for the subfloor? I had to tear down my old shed because mice built a nest beneath the OSB subfloor, ate through the OSB, and plastered the shed in poop. I would like the new shed to avoid a similar fate. Thank you.
Looking to build a roughly 8x8 foot deck that is 8' off the ground on the back of our walkout bungalo in Kitchener. PT lumber is fine, nothing fancy. We would need stairs down to a lower patio or deck that is on the ground.
As an option, would like costs for a lower PT deck on the ground that would be about 20'x12' in an area where there are currently patio stones that would have to be hauled away.
I am looking to have a 260 sq ft stamped concrete or a coloured broom finished concrete patio installed . The patio will be located at the rear of a backsplit home. Access is straight down from driveway with a 5 ft drop in elevation. I may choose to excavate existing fill down to required depth if it is cost effective.
