Hi there,
I am currently looking for a contractor who can work on our unfinished basement.
The house is a detached and we are in Erin Mills area.
Our basement is approximately 1200sqf and we want to have:
1. Home office with a closet
2. Bathroom with deep-soak bathtub and toilet
3. Laundry room with poles to hang clothes
4. Play area appropriate for preschool children
*Basement floor can be ceramic tiled or laminated ( we have 3 young kids so I want something durable). We prefer ceramic tiles, but that depends on how much other things cost.
*Our preferred bath room style is one with a deep soak bathtub and I personally want to have a shower area outside of the bath tub, not up on the wall in the bath tub area. My husband is interested in having a bidet ( this is optional)
*I want to have a laundry area where I can hang clothes in winter (I don’t like using clothe dryer)
And if the cost allows us, we also would like to do flooring our dining and family room. But our priority is the basement.
Please e-mail me if you could give us a quote.
Thank you,
Satoko
Currently living in the basement of an older house. The entire basement is covered with stucco. Walls and ceilings and it is a very thick stucco. There are also two main supports that are covered as well. There is also a design of 2 x 4 on the wall.. sort of like a barn pattern... I would idealy like all of this removed and to have dry wall replacing the stucco disaster. I am in the stage of getting estimates only right now but am lookign to have this completed soon.

Hello,
I have a townhouse unit with neighbours on both sides. Basement is approx 19.5 x 17 feet, with some furniture.
Found mold on the corner of the outside wall, hire mold remediation company who removed partially drywall along the outside basement wall (19.2 x 7.3 feet), found two cracks from top to bottom of the foundation wall, leaking basement window and posible leak at the airconditioner/hudro entrance.
Scoop of the project:
outside the building -
move airconditioner outside, Install proper exterior waterproof membrain with possible exterior insulation, replace weeping tile, make window well, seal hudro entrance, remove dirt, reinstal patio stones and reposition air conditioner;
inside the building -
remove remaining drywall and frame on two adjasent walls (19.2 x 7.3 and 7 x 7.3), seal cracks from inside, install ridged insulation board, install new pressure treated frame, install sealed electric boxes (4), fill the walls with Icynene closed cell foam (already got several quotes to do it for 1000 CAD), install waterproof drywall, prime and two coat painting to the existing colour, install painted baseboards;
Remove remaining of the floor carpet in the basement, seal the concrete floor, find and repair basement floor drain, install DRIcore floor tiles, install new carpet/laminate
Our previously finished basement had flood damage resulting in the flooring being ripped out and some minor drywall damage.
I am looking to have the basement repaired with a few additions/changes, details are as follows:
- Basement is approx 1400 sq ft
- Add one partition with pocket door
- Add one double barn door
- Add 6 potlights
- Drywall repair
- Installation of subfloor
- Installation of flooring
- Installation of baseboards
- Rough in electrical for basement bar

Hello, We have a finished basement, however, looking to put in a bedroom. All that is required are 2 walls framed and drywall, door installation and some electrical work (seperating the current light that is shared onto it's own line).
There may also be the opportunity for a couple of smaller jobs as well. Looking to tear up a small section of carpet and place linoleum.
