We installed a new laminate floor, and I attempted baseboards on my own. Well it turns out, I'm unskilled at mitre cuts. We live in a stacked townhome, on the first & second floor. It's approx 1100 sq/ft. but I don't know the linear footage of the baseboards needed. I don't know if you can guesstimate, or give your price per linear foot.
I would prefer prices via email. I will contact you once we've decided!
Thanks a lot!
I have a few different things that I am interested in having done:

2. sanding and restaining existing main floor hardwood
3. sanding and restaining existing hardwood stairs
4. replacing all baseboards on main floor (no quarter round)
5. removing and installing new carpet on upper floor
6. replacing all baseboards on upper floor
7. removing and retiling one tub surround and one stand up shower
I want to build a brand new staircase to the basement from my house. I have a door from the side of the house comes to the mud room ( which currently has washer dryer) I want to break the floor of the room and build a new staircase to the basement. There is a bed room in basement below the mud room so we can use that room for the stair area as well i want to relocate the washer and dryer next to new staircase.
We just bought a detached house. We have a basement apartment where my parents will be living and we need to put in a seperate entrance. The house has a staircase basically in the middle of the main floor going into the basement. We'd like to take those stairs out and give them access to the basement from another part of the house. So we would need to either have the staircase in the backyard going into the basement or from the garage to the basement. Another option that we have is a family room on the main floor that won't be in use . If the staircase could go down from the that room that could be another option as there is already a side door leading into that room.
Looking for someone for this small job - replacing the existing crown molding in the hallway, + puting-up molding in living room and dining room. ideally, would need someone that will get the material and install it. This is a condo - unit on the 14th floor. Job to start sometime early June.
Interesting in doing some crown moulding in a 5 bedroom home - open to suggestions in terms of what product we want - but looking for cost of labour + POTENTIAL cost of product.
We are looking to do crown moulding in:
(Maybe) Kitchen - more details can be provided if requested.
I have a room with three doors that are just slightly too large (2 closets and an entrance door). The carpet has underpadding and the doors no longer swing closed properly. The room is on the second story of the house. All three doors have hinges and should be able to be removed.
I would be appreciative of a quote.
I need a flat rate estimate (material and labor), for changes to the staircase (14 steps), shown in the photo:
1- removing the carpet and installing solid wood treads and risers
2- staining it the same stain of the hardwood in the foreground (including railings, post etc)
3- how much would it cost if we install pieces of the same wood where it is marked X in red (see photo)
4- if estimate are reasonable the job would be expanded to installing laminates and hardwood in some rooms
5- the job should be done between Aug. 31 to Sep. 6 (location Mississauga Mavis & 407)
I am replacing interior doors on 5 bedrooms, closet doors in 3 of the bedrooms, doors in 2 bathrooms, linen closet door and front hallway door. I am also replacing baseboards in 5 bedrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room and hallways (house is 1900 square feet). Also, replacing some window casings and door casings. All materials have been purchased and I'm looking for a quote for labour only.
This is a small job to provide installation materials, cut and install both chair rail and crown moulding in the one washroom. We dont have any contractors so if we establish a good relationship with someone, it will most likely lead to other jobs we will be contemplating in the future.
Approx 220 linear inches of chair rail to be installed
Approx 250 linear inches of crown moulding to be installed
We are in the middle of a renovation and need to get our staircase redone in preparation for hardwood. We live in a raised bungalow, so there are two sets of staircases. One with 7 steps open on one side, and the other with 4 steps boxed in. (Pictures attached)
We are unsure if we can keep the current stair treads and risers and refinish them....or if we have to cap the stairs...or if we have to totally replace all of them. This is definitely something that would have to be assessed in person. We have attached pictures of the stairs to give an idea of its current state. We have ripped out all the flooring, spindles/posts and handrails.
We would like to have stained treads with painted white risers. The spindles would be simple square pickets either in metal or painted wood. The posts would be square either painted wood or stained wood. The stain would have to match the hardwood that has been purchased: Preverco komodo. We have the hardwood on site.
We would like to have someone come meet us on site so that we can assess what can be done and to provide a quote.
Recently opened up my Master Bedroom closet and now would like to put in some custom shelving to finish the project off.
Closet dimensions are 109.5 inches wide by 96 inches tall by ~25 inches deep.
Also have another smaler closet (nursery) that I may consider doing as well.
Open to discuss materials and finishing.
