Thanks a lot everyone who came to the open house and provided their interest and quote for the work. I have made my decision and awarded the project to a contractor.
------------------------------
I will be conducting the estimate session on Monday Mar 15th. I will contact some contractors who will be invited to view the property and provide a detailed estimate. I will set time for each contractor and send it to you.
-----------------------------
I'm really thankful to everyone who replied back to my posted project. Unfortunately, I forgot to mention the taking out of existing carpet from the areas where laminate will be installed. So can you please provide the quote incl. taking out carpet and installing laminate, 1/4, cleanup[must], time to complete the full project? Some one also asked what type of laminate it will be. So I'm thinking to purchase 12mm laminate semi gloss. If you can provide me with the material at good price with good quality then please include it in your quote but please show it separately so I can distinguish between material and labor.
On a side note, if I want to do my stairs laminate or harowood, how much would it cost me. there are a total of 26 stairs to go from both ground floor to basement. There is a landing to go from ground floor to first floor after 2 stairs. I believe that area is about 3' X 3' or 4' X 4'.
Please do remember that the full basement need to be laminated. not just 16'-10" X 10'-11". so please add that portion and hallway area of first floor as well.
By the way, I would like to pitch in a little bit during the project so that I can understand how to put in a laminate floor.
Thanks

I am looking into having laminate flooring installed in our family room (the glueless, click together / floating type), which is approximately 180-200 sq ft. The floor currently has carpet. It is bordered by walls on three sides (and a patio door) and opens into the kitchen, which is tiled.
I have not purchased the board yet.
Need someone experienced, who can do a neat job on finishing, specially putting the baseboards back on, and finishing around the patio door and the 'open' side of the room where it merges onto the tiled floor. Also need to be told up front what material and how much material (e.g. if the current foam underlayer needs to be replaced, any special items to finish the open side etc)
Need about 1600 sq. ft of laminate flooring with installation.
Location: Mississauga
- Laminate should be something similar to Fireside Oak - A light oak colour
- 12mm
- installation will be thru the entire house
- new baseboards needed
- old flooring is vinyl - so can go right over it or remove
Hope that sufficient info.
Looking forward to this project!

Hi.
I am ready to hire. I want to obtain a FREE estimate for the following:
I would like to remove the existing carpet from my finished basement and the stairs to the basement.
The house is in good shape, no flood ever, it is around 30 years old.
Then I want to install laminate in the whole basement (except the bathroom) and install heavy traffic carpet on the basement stairs only. I will buy all the materials.
I need to know how much this renovation will cost me and how soon it can be done.
The contractor will be selected/chosen based on the PRICE and how SOON the job will be started and finished. The earlier, the better.
Basement dimensions (for laminate) : SQ FT 375
Basement stairs (for heavy traffic carpet) : SQ FT 45
Please call me for quotes. (my schedule is very flexible)
The job can be done during the weekend, too
Thank you!
Ray
P.S.
If I am happy with the contractor' services, I plan to completely renovate the basement bathroom as well, very soon.
Age of House: built 1955
A. HISTORY:
This is a standard bungalow with an L-shaped living room.
Not sure of square footage; it was never declared in the real estate listing.
The existing hardwood is the original strip flooring which I intend to install into my basement kitchen so ripping it up must be
done with care.
There are areas where the floor squeaks that must be corrected.
B. COMBINATION CERAMIC/LAMINATE
I intend to put down some porcelain or ceramic in a curved angle at one end of the dining room. This job requires
someone who can lay down laminate in a curved angle to accommodate the installation of porcelain or ceramic.
C. EXPERIENCE AND PHOTOGRAPHS
I would also hope that the person has experience installing porcelain or ceramic and can show me photographs of
similar work done recently.
D. MATERIALS:
1. I intend to use laminate with underlayment (of my choice) and wish to know whether you use glue or glueless installation of the laminate.
2. Edges of underlaymentmust be butted together not overlapped.
E. What type of laminate?
melamine resin/aluminum oxide laminates
E. PLACEMENT OF BOARDS:
Direction of Boards:
Boards will run parallel to the light entering the room.
F. DOOR MOLDINGS
VERY IMPORTANT
Moldings of doors must be removed prior to installation. I will not permit installation without the removal of the moldings of doors.
Baseboards must be removed, of course.

On our main floor we would like to replace the existing laminate with a distressed or hand scraped laminate plank or bamboo which would be easier for dogs to walk on and handle traffic. We would also like stone/tile at the main entrance and in the kitchen area of the main floor to match with this flooring.
I would like to put in laminate flooring in my Condo the first week of March.
- The area is 200 square feet (includes both living room & hallways)
- The current carpet and underlay will need to be removed
- Will I need quarter round or door stop? You are the expert
- Will the baseboards need to be removed and reinstalled?
My Condo requires Underlay with sound transmission properties of Impact Insulation Class (IIC) 58 and Sound Transmission Class (STC) 52.
Looking for quotes that both include the laminate and underlay as well as without as I currently have not purchased any of the products required.
We have ripped out the kitchen and removed all the old tiles including the mud pac and wire mesh. I have installed a new sub floor for the granite. I would like to put down 900 sq ft of granite on the main floor and 2000 sq ft of wood upstairs and in three rooms on the ground floor.
Start time is ASAP. I have the material and only require instalation.
Please contact me by phone

I live in a 1-bedroom condominium in Mississauga which is roughly about 700 sq ft. I currently have carpet everywhere. I would like you to paint all my walls (with the exception of the storage room) and change my carpet to hardwood (bathroom, kitchen, and storage room not impacted). I already know what colour paint I want and what hardwood I want. Ideally I would like to tell you what colour paint I want and show you what hardwood type I want and then go on vacation for a week or so and return to find all the work complete and everything back in its place. Is such a service available?
We have a rectangular family room (about 17 x 11), currently with carpet. We are putting the house on sale later this year, and would like to change the floor in this room to match the parquet already in the living room.
We are looking into 2 options:
1. We would like to install parquet here, to match what is in the living room (a common cherry color, which would have to be finalized from your available selection).
OR
2. Install a decent quality Laminate floor which closely matches the existing parquet color (since both rooms are separatedif by a ceramic tiled kitchen/dining area)
Please provide online quotes both options for the complete job - including supply and installation of materials, which would include the parquet/Laminate, a sub-floor/padding layer, quarter round along 3 walls (17', 11' and 11'), and all finishing along the end that merges with the ceramic in the adjoining kitchen/dining (17 feet)
Please only respond if you can provide a reasonable quote online before we proceed to onsite meetings and finalized prices etc.
