We live in a new build house (less than 2 years old) and the kitchen just isn't meeting our needs. We find it to be small and cramped and not suitable for entertaining. We want something new!
Our vision that we would like to get some advice and pricing on to make a reality.
- remove wall between living room and kitchen
- install beam (if needed) to make kitchen, family room and dining room open concept. This would be taking down the wall by the pantry and keeping the two columns in the family room ideally. I'm not too sure how much of a structural beam will be required
- install new cabinetry along the new long wall from rear of house to powder room wall.
- install centre island in space currently occupied by dishwasher to fridge
- fridge will go on wall backing onto powder room. stove will remain in current position. dishwasher and sink will move to centre island
To save on costs, I will do the demolition and changing of flooring from hardwood to tile. I will relocated existing cabinets and countertop to the basement for future finishing.
We don't need a 100% solid wood kitchen. We can do the maple/oak doors with the laminate white wood interiors. We would like the extended uppers and the crown and valence moldings as well.
Countertops similar granite to what we have now. We have a supplier we liked to use the first time and would use again.
Price wise, we haven't an idea of what it might cost so we need your help!
Hi,
We are looking to renovate our kitchen and are looking for responses from contractors who are able to do our project without too much delay. I would ideally like to start on my project asap. So please response only if you able to accomodate the timelines.
We have a clear idea as to what kind of kitchen (its not too big, approximately 14 by 12) we want including the design, materials and budget which can be discussed in details during the quote process.
There are also few extra bits of work around the house which i would like to complete after the kitchen provided everything works out to the plan.
Thank you in advance for your response.

my kitchen is 14' X 11' approximately. we need new cupboard top and bottom. new counter top, and a new floor to ceiling pantry. i would also like a breakfast bar. a wall cut out to the family room. the wall is a supporting wall so it will need reinforcement. we have 2 , 3.5' doorways and one 6 foot sliding door to the deck. we are keeping and working with/around existing stove, fridge, sink and dishwasher.
Home is around 26 years old. When we bought the house 5 years ago we did some renovations such as remove all carpet and add hardwood floors and painted kitchen cabinets, replaced countertop etc. We knew we wanted to redo the kitchen but this would be a project for a later time. Well the later time is up. In the spring/summer of 2014 we want to do this. We have ideas but welcome other ideas and suggestions from pros on how to make our kitchen more functional and have more storage and space to move around and yet still be something we look at and love. I don't have the square footage so you will need to come by and take a look. Budget is to be determined still.
We remodelled our kitchen approximately 10 years ago. Walls opened up and all new solid wood cabinets with granite counter tops. We now would like to refresh it up, with new cabinets or possibly re-facing them as they are in good condition. We want to replace the floor porcelain tiles we had laid with hard wood to match the rest of the house. If possible we want to reuse the granite tops. We also would be looking for pot lights to be installed in the kitchen.
Hi, I had a kitchen remodel done in 2014. At this point I would like to update with the following enhancements
1. replace countertops with quartz
2. expand opening width for fridge
3. possibly replace vinyl tile in laundry room (depending on budget)
Looking for someone who can do this/get this done.
