Our back deck needs to be ripped out and rebuilt. We want a pergola built on the deck OR a pool house. We are interested in quotes and advice on what to do. There is water under the deck. YIKES!!
Currently, we have a deck back there, which we thought was well built eight years ago. We think the problem might be that the cement post holes might have shifted with the frost. Perhaps they weren't dug down far enough?
The deck is an odd shape, meant to fit around the semi-circle portion of a 16ft kidney shaped pool. It might be a challenging task to repair/rip out and rebuild.
We also need a new section of fencing and a gate since our neighbours installed a new 8 foot fence. Ours is puny in comparison and we want ours to match theirs, if possible.
We are a 19/20 year old 21 unit townhouse complex with aging wooden decks.
Separate from this we enquiring the replacement of the decks.
We are enquiring "maintenance" for two reasons:
1. too get the opinion of experts whether there is any life left in the existing decks
2. too get proposals on the maintenance of the new decks to get more life from the new decks
The decks were constructed with PT lumber and have received caring degrees of care.
We have 5 Sizes of decks:
1. "A" size - 12 - 10' x 12'
2. "B" size - 7 - 10' x 15'
3. "C" size - 1 - 14' x 21' 6"
4. "D" size - 1 - 10' x 21'
Should anyone be interested, I would suggest a site visit to see first hand the condition of the decks.
Thanks
Bob

I recently bought a semi detached home. The stairs to enter the front of the house are hazardous - we would like to either simply install new steps (preferably wooden, they are now concrete, but will consider concrete if I can see previous work), and if it is possible, maybe build a small porch?
Hi,
We are looking to have a quote on two projects.
1- Backyard stairs with landing and rails. Approx 7ft wide, 7 steps with 2ft landing.
2- Small deck, 2ft wide arround the swimming spa. The spa is 15ft x 8ft . The deck will be in slope area, one side will be approx 7" and the other side 24".
Let me know if you can help.
Thank you
Need Pressure treated wooden patio stairs installed. Design is for cascading and maybe angled stairs. Possibly need railings. Preferably wood with black spindles. Need like quote with/without lights in stairs. Do not need access to basement window under doors.
Patio doors done need; stairs in asap
Porch. There is new roof on the porch however the wood beneth the porch is rotting and needs to be replaced and the wood surrunding the porch top (below roof) need to be either partially replaced or painted. The whole porch (exept the floor) need to be re-painted in white.
Kitchen. Someone did bad job trying to stain it and now all of cupboards need to be replaced and likely hinges need to be replaced too.
I have a 16 by 10' raised deck that is in need of resurfacing and staining. First, though are two boards with rot that must be replaced or patched and flipped. Please provide a quote that you could pin down upon visual inspection. Spindles appear OK. Top rails should be refinished. There is no access to the deck from below. Stairs etc. could use work but not a priority.
I am looking to have a deck - approx 12x16 built in my backyard, off of my patio doors. The deck would be slightly raised from the ground. I am looking for one level of steps coming from the patio doors onto the deck, and then on one corner of the deck, an additional set of stairs (2 steps) down to the ground. I don't require any railings, benches etc. I just want a basic platform and skirting (not lattice) around the base of the deck. The deck should "but up" against my house's back wall, however, it does not need to be attached. For materials, I am looking at pressure-treated wood. I will apply any additional finishes myself.
I have an extremely tight budget and I am looking for the project to be done very soon and very quickly (no longer than a 2 day project).
We are a 21 unit single story town house project with 19/20 year old wood decks.
We are contemplating a replacement program over the next two years.
Std. size is 10' x 12' with several @ 10' x 14' and a couple slightly larger again.
Present construction is pressure treated including balusters. Could entertain some improvements but not composite decking.
Would like to develop a replacement plan with a quality contractor over the winter with a spring 2019 start.
Looking for a honest, experienced and legally registered professional builder / contractor to erect a treated wood floating deck in the backyard of my property. It will be a 'L' configuration 2-1/2 Ft. above ground. The large area is 11Ft. wide by 22 Ft. long; the small area is 6 Ft. wide by 9 Ft. long. It will include a 5 Ft. wide stair. All dimensions to be confirmed on site for accuracy by the contractor. No railings to be included.
For the builder with demonstrated credentials and competitive price; upon my formal approval, the project is to be initiated right away or as soon as possible.
Thank you, in anticipation, to those responding. Nestor (home owner).
Envision a two tiered deck. A 6' 8" x 6' area connecting the existing porch to the main deck area. An upper level area of 14' x 16' then a step down to a 8' x 14' lower area. Want pressured treated "brown" wood. I have attached a rough plan of the deck for your reference / use. Upper area is less than 2' in elevation. Also a simple wood railing would be required along 15' of the deck area.
