Yesterday, I blew the main braker. I think it has something to do with my oven...I heard a loud POP soon after I started my oven then everything stopped. I don`t know if it is due to faulty wiring in the stove outlet or if it has something to do with the stove itself. This needs to be looked at ASAP because I have no stove right now.
Also, not as important but I would like my door bell fixed. It has not worked for almost the 10 years we have been here.
I have an entire cct not functioning. To the best of my knowledge the cct consists of 3 baseboard heaters (2 through common switch, 1 stand-alone) and 1 electrical kitchen outlet.
- double sink installed necessitating the replacement of old outlet with a GFCI (kitchen)
- stand-alone heater disconnected when bathroom tiling was done.
- neither of the above are used often so I do not know root cause of issue
- attempted to use outlet and blew breaker
Trouble shooting thus far:
- reset breaker - no joy
- checked schematic instruction on outlet - appears correct to my uneducated eye
- replaced breaker - no joy
- bypassed heater and reset breaker - no joy
I've run out of ideas and would like an electrician.
No ceilling fixture in master bedroom. Electrical switch controls a wall plug-in which was intended for a lamp to provide the lighting in the bedroom. I wish to have the switch control a ceilling fan. The master bedroom is on the top floor, meaning easy access to the attic to runs wires to the ceilling.
I'm looking for an estimate.
1980s home in Orleans. Three Upstairs bedrooms have no over head lighting. Would like lights installed.
Downstairs has the one switch at the top of the stairs to control all the lights. (office, hall, rec room) require 3 light switches put in.
Powder Room/Laudry room - Laundry room has extra ceiling fan. Would like it taken out and another electrical plug put in place of the switch.
Backyard - one light face out into the backyard. Wish to have another light put in on separate switch.
Electrician required to look at electrical box. lights and electrics plugs on one circuits are not functionning _ in basement. Short circuit happened when using central vaccum. All brakers seem to be on.
Outdoors plugs are also not working.
Lights in bathrooms upstairs flicker when using hair dryer.
We recently tore down a wall in the basement and require movement of an outlet, a light switch and telephone jack. In addition, we require installation of a ceiling fan in the family room and switch. Currently there is no conduit or connection so it must be done from scratch. Also we will require the same for the Master Bedroom.
Hi. I have all of the supplies, however, I would like a quote for an electrical contractor to install these. I live in an "Alcan" home in Queenswood Heights. About eight pot lights and a couple of switches (also supplied by me.)
Quite simple really. An install. Contractor would have to work mainly in the attic to install these. The insulation is not blown but is the thick pads running between the ceiling joists.
1) Like to add laundry next to or inside bathroom.
Currently there's a deep closet next to bathroom, think of using this completely to extend bathroom.
At the same time, would like to upgrade bathtub, tiles, sink, mirror, light, faucet, shower head, fan.
2) Like to upgrade electrical box to 200A.
3) Small *single* car garage currently has no concrete on the floor - just wooden board on dirt.
Like change floor concrete.
This needs to be complete by end of June, early the better.
