I have a kitchen that I'd like to remove the vinyl and install ceramic tiles; the outside of the kitchen flooring is hardwood.
The kitchen is ~ 180 square foot; it does have a fridge, stove and dishwasher that we'll must do under them and finally the baseboard moulding needs to be put back/replaced.
The home is built by Minto in 2006
Tiling required for between a new fireplace and the mantel and In front of the fireplace. (Basement fireplace)
Precision is required because of the small area. (I expect the grout lines to be very close to the same size and tiles to be level. ((Visually appealing))
Levelling will be required for both the mantel area and on the floor. Previous tiles still on the ground to give height. You can remove if you like.
I went to a local DIY store and bought tiles. It ended up that the tiles were neither square nor 12x12. A comparison between two tiles showed a quarter of an inch difference. This variance is just too large. Theses tiles have been returned.
I would appreciate direction finding quality tiles so that your job is easier. (Impossible to make things square when the tiles aren't even 12x12 nor 90 degree sides)
