We have a 10'X10' deck where the three concrete bases were dug to just below the ground surface. This was done when the house was built. As a result it keeps rising during the winter months. We would like to have these replaced with 10 inch diameter bases poured to the proper depth of 3 metres to accommodate 8 X 8 posts.
I live in a 60+ year old house and I wish to replace a window with a door to the backyard of my house. I want the door to be a single entrance with some type of screen door. From that door I want a deck put in. I am not sure how I want the deck to look, but I want it to be spacious. It will have to hold a bbq and a patio set and still have space to move around.
I need to figure out the general cost to build the deck excluding the materials. I already have the cost of materials from Lowes.
Walk out home: the deck is 8' high from ground, 12' wide, lenght 18' with 4' steps to the ground.
I am looking for the estimate quotation for this job.
We have an existing deck on the house, with rear door access. We want to make an extension to the deck from the side of the house. A deck extension that will be about 31' x 5-1/2', and about 3' high. Fairly simple extension, nothing special. The hardest part will probably be converting the window on the side of the house into a door to access the extension. Just a door, not a sliding door. Price quotes please.
I am looking for someone to install concrete pillars without footings for a deck foundation into the ground along with the steel deck beam brackets. I am looking for a per pillar price including, drilling, Sonotubes, cement, beam bracket and labour. The deck height will be no more then approx 20" off the ground. Also please give a approximate schedule as to when the work can be started.
We are looking for a deck approximately 16 x 28, less than 2ft off the ground with pressure-treated wood, steps leading off all sides of the deck to the ground, small 4ft railings on each side of the deck (on one side to keep BBQ from falling off deck, other side for consistency). We are considering 45 degree corners depending on the price. Can you please give me an idea how much this would cost?
I live in north Oshawa. I have a 4 post deck approx. 10 ft high. One post away from the house has 'frost-jacked' and pushed up one corner of the deck. I think it needs cutting down a bit. Not sure if it has pulled the others up a little as well. I fear if I leave it, it may start pulling bricks out of line.
Hello,
I am currently looking to hire someone to knock out the front stoop of my house and put in a porch that goes the length of the house. It is a semi detached and I am thinking that I would like to have a concrete porch although the final decision will be based on cost. I am looking to have enough space to put a bbq and perhaps a small patio set, steps to the front door will be required. The house was built in the 1960s and the lower half is brick. Would it be possible to take a look at the house and provide a quote? I am looking to start the project in the spring, and am looking for someone reliable to complete the job. Thanks in advance for your input,
Tara

Original porch has paving stones installed on top of flagstone.
Cold cellar below has water leaking in below main entry door above during heavy rain.
Exterior waterproofing has been recently done, original concrete porch steps and footings have been removed.
Porch measures aprox. 48" x 96" on the exterior.
I would like a quote to have the porch repaired/refinished, and steps installed, and possibly a poured or interlocking walkway.
Brand New House. Need to re-cover concrete Landing and stairs. Plus adding a landing-walkway between porch and driveway. Materials flexible.
Concrete Porch Landing - 150in x 60in
Concrete Stairs 3 raisers
Landing/walkway to driveway - size fexible, aprox - 13ft x 7ft (May need to have at east 1 stair, because of slope)
Check out our simple drawing for one of the ideas we have in mind. (includes Retaining wall for flowers or plants) project might be without that)
Thanks,

I require someone to build / extend my back deck. I would like a deck that is 15 by 12 feet and 2 feet tall. The deck will have 2 stairs coming out of the house to the deck and 2 stairs to the ground I believe. The deck can be done in full or extended from the existing 4 by 14 foot deck maybe.
I have already laid out the area and it has lots if gravel that I already had from a previous structure. I assume a cost for pine, but would like a pine/cedar cost too.
If the old deck that could be extended isn't worth it, I will take that down and prepare the area for you.
One special feature is that I'd like the deck to leave a well for the basement window so that I can get light in and escape if required. That window is 34 inches wide.
I will also take care of any finishing touches such as trim and railing, but the structure I would prefer done by someone wi more experience depending on incremental cost.
I know this is short notice but I have hired someone to build my deck however it needs to be completed by September 4th as we have a hot tub being delivered and setup and they have not started anything and keep on delaying I am now looking for another contractor we have all the materials on site and was wondering if you would be able to help us out at all please let us know
Thank you kindly thank
Laura
Looking for a 6 foot high fence with 6x6 posts to be installed. ~130 linear foot total. New subdivision, easy access, no existing fence.
Also looking for a 250 square foot deck OR patio (whatever is cheaper). Easy access, ground already level.
Looking for a price/linear foot for the fence and price/square foot for the deck or patio.
Thanks!
existing patio is 144 sq. ft. (2x2 cement slabs)
I would like to extend the patio to approx. 224 sq. ft.
Are used patio slabs available for this extension? If not, what is the approximate cost of removing the existing patio stones and installing all new (2x2) for the 224 sq. ft. patio?
I live in Oshawa right on the Whitby line. I am presently seeking to do some home improvements which include rebuilding my back deck which is roughly two feet off the ground, with no railing, measuring18 ft wide by 10 ft long and needs replacing. I need an 'in the ballpark' estimate of what the cost might be if were you to build it.
I would like to know what materials you would use for the deck itself, what sort of footing support and whether its perimeter would be enclosed.
Hi,
The front porch of my house is pulling away. I believe the bottom of the front pillars are rotting and causing everything to shift forward. I want to get it propped back up into place and properly attached to the house (all brick), fix up the pillars so they look nice, and make any required cosmetic fixes. The shingles are only a few years old, so I do not want to reshingle. We are looking to also put some new railings on.
Thanks,
I am the owner of 1927 home which front porch needs to be re-built. Would like porch to continue to reflect age of home, except would like composite wood to be used. porch dimensions are approx. 7'x10'. Has concrete steps which are in good shape so would like 2 quotes, one using existing steps and one with new steps built from same composite wood.
There is existing brick pillar in front corner of porch. Railings are strong wood and maybe could be reused?
Once old porch is torn down and before new porch is built ... foundation in front corner needs sealing. Under porch is concrete room accessible from basement - seems to be dug/added post construction of home. At times moisture appears in corner of concrete room (so small section of foundation needs sealing). Ventilation needs improving in that same room.
