We recently moved into a new home and need a handyman to do some smaller jobs, mostly in the basement. On two walls there are water pipes sticking out a couple feet from the wall- we need them cut/tucked into the drywall. We also need some baseboard and quarter round installed, a railing installed for the basement stairs, a couple of light fixtures changed, etc.
I live in a 1 bedroom bungalow. My bedroom is about 18 feet long and 12 feet wide. On the other side of that wall, is a small room with a fireplace that I use as my livingroom. I would like to move that dividing wall approx 4 feet to make the livingroom bigger. I don't believe the wall is a retaining wall and from the looks of it, it was added by the previous owner, not very well, on top of that.
I would like to know what would be involved and the approx total cost.
I am taking possession of my new older home July 17 and would like some work done to it between July 18 - 31 prior to moving in to the place. The hosue is newly renovated with a new roof but several issues need to be addressed to ensure proper waterproofing of the place:
The roof needs caulking in several areas along its seams and vents and small open areas sealed off against animals nesting in them.
The unfinished portion of the basement floor (approx 26' X 20') needs to be sealed as does one of its stone walls where water has appeared after a rainfall.
The exterior of the house requires caulking and painting the windows (approx 8 medium sized windows). Two of the back basement windows require window wells. The downspouts need to be extended 6 feet from the house.
The house can be inspected after July 17th.
We are putting our house up for sale shortly and have a number of jobs that need to be done to get it ready:
-installing a new bathroom sink
-caulking 2 bath tubs, refinishing framing around one of the tubs
-installing quarter round in a bedroom
-installing 3 light fixtures
-repairing a hole in the wall
-attaching a vanity to the wall
-fixing or reinstalling some pot lights
-reinstalling baseboard and quarter round in part of the basement
