We have a walk in shower that needs to ripped down. We bought a bathtub to install. We would like to know how much to rip out the shower and install new a bathtub and tiles would be? It is a townhouse. It was built in the late 1970's. I don't know how long the shower has been there but we are sure that there was a bathtub there before as the walk in shower is about 5 feet in length.
My ceramic floor is green and I hate it. I want to rip it up and replace with hardwood or cover it with something that will last. The house is a 2280 sq ft home and the ceramic goes from the foyer through the hall to the kitchen. I measure around 360 sq ft
I need some vinyl capping done on outside windows, doors put on in finished basement. Eventually a good relationship will lead to floors replacement upstairs, bathroom put in basement, storm door on front, back deck built, the list goes on.......
I would like to tile half of my basement and laminate flooring throughout the other half. What would be the labor rate for this job?
Also would like to install a bathtub to the existing washroom as well. Rates please.
Is it cheaper to provide the materials for the contractor? Would that make a difference in labour rates?
Please let me know.
Regards,
Vick and Terry.
I'm hoping to surprise the wife this weekend (Saturday). I have a small bathroom that needs ceramic tile installed. An easy job for someone who has the skills and tools.
Bathroom size = ~50 sq ft
Tile Size = 12"x24"
Thoughts on cost and/or recommendations?
Main entrance and hall way and kitchen are done in a weird textured slate tile with white grout. The grout is badly stained and the tile is hard on feet since its textured. Has a tile guy come and look- approx 400 sq ft he said better off restaining grout a darker colour- however tile was not laid correctly and the sealer was applied after grouting... Tile guy wasnt sure if grout stain would take
I am wondering what the cost would be for someone to either restain grout or rip up slate and replace with flat easy to clean surface?
I am in the process of re-doing my kitchen. I have installed the cabinets and the new dishwasher. I have hit a bump now. My kitchen floor has sheet vinyl with another layer of vinyl tile underneath. I have removed some of the present floor underneath the cabinets on the sink side, but would need to have the balance removed and then lay the ceramic tile. I will provide the ceramic tile. My kitchen measures 16'3" x 8'8" approx. This includes cabinet area also. So I measured the rectangle basically. I just want to get an "online estimate" of what this would cost to remove the vinyl and lay the ceramic tile.
Thank you,
Jacquie

We are in need of a well referenced flooring installer. We have a kitchen (10' x 19 ') including a hall area and powder room that need to have a new floor installed. The house is 60 years old with 2 layers of vinyl flooring currently glued down. Our plan is to tear out the floor ourselves but we need the new floor installed asap. We have kitchen cabinets, which we plan on installing ourselves, arriving June 23rd.
We need the floor to be prepped to install the tile and then have the porcelain tile laid. Ideally this needs to be completed by the end of June.
We are looking for top quality and availability .... ;)

My hardwood floors were treated with 3 coats of polyurethane only 1 year ago, and my tenants have scratched many areas (main hallway, some bedrooms). The tenants also tried to use a (regular?) marker to hide some scratches, but the colour isn't a good match.
Various small to medium sized scratches and/or scuff of varying depths.
Scratch in hallway is 10feet long.
They also broke many tiles in kitchen and foyer - would like these replaced with the extra tiles I have. Thanks!
I would like to have my old vanity and toilet in my powder room removed and a new vanity and toilet installed. I would purchased both the toilet and vanity in advance. I also have 148 square feet of old tile to be removed from a concrete floor (basement level) and would like new tile to be installed.
