Hello, I'm looking for a contractor to come and install a custom door, which will require the contractor to enlarge the current opening. We have installed stairs, but I need someone to finish them. We also have some trim work that needs to be done, a few pieces of baseboards, quarter round, and flooring transition strips.
Looking for an experienced and reputable contractor to build a landing with hardwood surface to match existing hardwood. Cost is not as important as quality of construction.
The landing base is to be 1200 mm x 1200 mm and the base material should be 2 x 6 lumber. An additional step will be required to ensure the structure is to building code. Existing hardwood in the condo is is Riverside brand engineered hardwood. The final look and aesthetic should be of superior quality and reflect the over look and finish of the condo. Please refer to photographs of condo (attached) and the existing prototype for landing (also attached).
Please provide a realistic estimate that accounts for contingencies and possible delays and set backs in project timeline and completion. The most important factors are quality of work, strict adherence to building code, and ability to stick to estimate provided to the homeowner.
We are looking to increase the living space of the top floor (master bedroom) of our 1 1/2 storey house by adding a dormer(s) on the back half. Looking for someone who has direct and recent experience in the carpentry and roofing aspect of installing dormers. References/past project examples required. If interested please contact me and we can discuss the details of the project.
On the third floor of our townhouse there is a dormer window and a piece of the framing has fallen off, I need to have this peice replaced. This is a small job which shouldnt take more than 30 minute sbut the issue is that it is on the outside on the thrid floor and would have to be accessed from outside. The house is 100 years old end unit with brick on all sides. I can email a photo of the repair if needed.

Looking to get a couple of things done in my basement.
1) Installation of 2 doors (one of them is a pocket door)
2) Installation of baseboards, door and window trims
There is approximately 150 linear feet of baseboards and window/door trims needing to be installed. It's an open concept room so there are hardly any corners.
I need a quote for the installation of hardwood flooring and baseboards for hallway (approx. 12 x 3), living room (approx 12 x 10) and reading room (approx 10 x 10). Preferred material would match what we have in the kitchen, which has several coats of finish on it for high-traffic area. As well, baseboards would need to be high-end, pre-finished. Age of house is 28 years.
We are looking for someone to help with three main projects at our house:
1. to replace and repair rotting wood around the chimney (outside)
2. to replace a patio door at the back of the house...including removing the rotting wood from the sill and replacing it.
3. Painting exterior wood surfaces, and painting and caulking window trim
In our 1950 home, in Ottawa, Ontario, a straight staircase (no turns, no landings) goes from our main floor to the basement. It`s in wood (`cheap` planks) painted white; it has 12 steps and is in good condition. It needs a handrail (it has none) and a side rail on the main floor. We want glass side panels; the hand rail itself should be in wood, in oak. Roan sells what we want... almost; the glass panels are fine but the hand rail iiself is bland, boring.
Good afternoon- We are completing the interior of a new build in Westboro (3 bedroom, 2-storey, 2300 sf total) and are seeking quotes to supply and install trim and interior doors. The project is "Craftsman-style", so we are looking for relatively simple profiles. Our preference for the trim would be MDF, we will be finishing all in white. I can supply the architectural drawings in pdf format upon request, we are ready for on-site measurements.
Thanks in advance,
I'm interested in having a few floating corner bookshelves installed in our living room in order to maximize floor space. For examples of what we're looking for, see the attached images.
In total, we'd like to have three shelves installed, each roughly 84" wide (or 42" x 42") and 7" deep. If possible, we'd also appreciate some kind of crown moulding or detailing on the front of the shelves.
In terms of how to build the shelves, I've seen it done online in a couple of different ways:
We are looking for a carpenter to do addition for our home. The house was built in 1993 and was built as a bungalow. We intend to build 2nd level and on top of existing level and completely new roof. Please let me know if we can have you help us out as well as giving us quote/estimate and timeline for the job. Thank you. You can also call me.
Looking for a ballpark price to see if my budget will allow for this project. Main staircase treads and risers need to be stripped, sanded and stained and sealed. 11 treads and risers plus a 3x3' landing.
Also need 4 newel posts installed, approx 25' of railing, and 40-50 new spindles (black metal, attach with screws top and bottom). All railing components need to be stained and sealed as well. Need old railing system removed. There is a section of railing upstairs as well (not pictured)
I will provide the railing material, looking for a labour cost (rough) for this work. Don't need anything specific, just a ballpark and then I will see about having you in for an exact quote.
