Looking for landscape architect/builder to:
- lay sod in backyard (25x50). remove current gravel
- build fence (horizontal slats)
- extend current deck (cement footings, steel and glass railings)
- construct cement or stone planters as well as pathways
- construct modern looking shed
- get all necessary permits
We have recently purchased a house in Nepean (new construction), and we are looking to add a patio with landscaping in our backyard. It's a relatively small yard (26'x26') and we've already paid a certified landscape designer to provide us with a drawing. We have a couple of minor changes we'd like done, and the drawing/layout can be sent via email. The overall specifications are as follows:
- Completion date, ASAP, or no later than June 1st, 2013
- Square patio (approximately half the size of the backyard, 12x10) with walkway to gate (around existing deck)
- Patio uses Permacon Trafalgar stones, mostly the square pavers, arranged diagonally
- There will be a garden at the back fence, along the patio, which will have a few key plants/bushes/trees (to be determined, and installed by landscaper)
- The garden will be flush with the patio, with no container wall
- The garden will contain a cedar privacy wall, approximately 7' tall with a minimal decorative design
- There is an existing raised cedar deck (which is mostly just a walkout with stairs). We would like to enclose the bottom of the deck to use as storage (with a gate).
- The existing downspout is diverted underground with a "popup emitter". Keeping the water away from the patio and the house.
We are looking for a quote for all of the work, including landscaping/gardening as well as suggestions for the trees/plants. We would like the work to be completed as early as possible.
Feel free to contact me and I will provide you with a drawing of the proposed patio/landscape features as designed by another contractor.
-PVC fence - approximately 125 linear feet
-Deck (composite or cedar) - approximately 19 feet by 11 feet (will need to fit around an above ground pool). Including aluminum rails on sides of the deck and one set of stairs.
-Patio area with interlock/stone approximately 19 feet by 17 feet
-Small retaining wall (approximately 1 foot high) and concrete pad for 11 foot by 7 foot shed
-River rock along fence and pool area
Hello, Every Spring, the back yard floods.
I am fairly certain it is due to the grading/ shape of the area.
Youtube and other sites suggest grading and / Trenching / installation of a French Ditch.
But this is beyond my ability / knowledge / expertise. So ... I am looking for someone to:
Install a French Ditch to channel water away, and Grade area affected.
Re-sod back yard where applicable. (Roughly 1200 SQ Feet)
Cheers.
We have an island in front of the house that needs to be redone completely. All the current plants are dwarf and for shade. Last summer we took down the maple tree in the middle. Now we need to rip the existing plants and shrubs, work the earth to remove the dead roots, add new dirt, install chicken rock to avoid erosion, and plant all new flowering shrubs for sun. We have a design with the names of the plants to be used. We need someone to do the work.
We are interested in receiving estimates for a backyard patio installation.
We would like to replace our back lawn with a natural sandstone-like patio, leaving the garden border undisturbed.
Attached are some pictures of the current yard, a (very!) rough sketch of the area we would like to replace with the stone patio, and some photos of the type of stone we prefer.
Thank you,
Michaela & Allen

New home, front, back and side of the property were not properly leveled and adequate topsoil placed down. As a result the lawn is uneven which makes mowing difficult and the seeding of the lawn did not adequately take. Would like the area to be leveled, rocks and debris removed, proper top soil added and the area seeded so that a reasonable lawn will exist next year that can be maintained.
Have a two acre lot, less house and driveway area.
Have an irrigation system installed in the front section that will similarly need to be addressed with the leveling and top soil addition. Open to other ideas of what to do with the space available.
Landscaping services required to rejuvenate lawn and planting beds in both front and back yards. The property is currently unfenced but fully landscaped. Landscaping consists of planting beds in front and back yards and around deck with remainder of yard covered in lawn. Area between our home and the neighbour's is currently gravelled. I would be interested in having this work completed before July of this year.
Services required:
- estimate of cost to rejuvenate / restore lawn to healthy state (open to alternatives from re-sodding to extensive top-dressing and re-seeding)
- recommendations on the best layout and demarcation of planting beds & estimate of cost to refresh planting beds including best perennial plants.
- estimate of the cost to remove waste material between houses and add additional gravel ~2" including in widow well
- recommendation & estimate of cost to finish step from deck to area between the houses.
Hi,
The project is small and quite simple (aren't they all!) lol.
Landscaping: Front of the house
As you will see in the pics, there is one step coming down from the concrete landing. And, it has moved quite a bit over the years. We would like to either straighten what is there and/or start over and create an additional step, making it a two steps down.
If you have questions, let me know!
Thank you,
Nicole
I am a new homeowner in the Orleans region of Ottawa. I am looking for landscapers who would be available to landscape my yard. I am looking for something nice, something simple that is easy to maintain. I have a rough budget of 8,000$ for this project. Please contact me if you are interested.
Thanks,
Dan
Hello,
I am looking for a landscaping company to take care of 46 properties over the summer. This would include:
1. Lawn mowing
2. Tree/shrub trimming
3. Area around property cleared of debris, sticks etc
4. Leaves raked/blown
5. Weeds removed from walkways
Weekly/bi weekly service.
Thanks!
Ansley
I would like to receive a quote to have one corner of my house regraded away from foundation. I am getting water pooling against the foundation from the downspout runoff. The area that needs regrading is approximately 20 ft. In addition, the two steps from the driveway to the front walkway are buckled from frost heave. Would like that fixed as well. This is not a huge job, but would like the grading done properly with the right fill.
Thanks.
This is a back yard project. I want to have river rock removed and replaced with sod. There are two options: 1. move rocks to a different location of mine or 2. keep the rocks (they are in demand). The space is approximately 20' x 30'. I would like to have the work completed as soon as possible.
I have a three sided retaining wall around my driveway. Stone is cracked etc and has collapsed in one area. Need the stone carted away and a new wood retaining wall built. There is an exposed wire to an electrical plug which was in the stone wall. Would like this retained, but may need to be moved. Not sure of dimensions - the two sides are maybe 2 feet high, the end maybe four feet. Driveway is a standard two car.
We have a small retaining wall in an urban back yard in Ottawa. It is approx 14 ft wide x 3 ft tall, backs into a sunken back yard (2 wooden steps down), topped by a gravel laneway/parking area. Original wall (100 yrs old) was made from creosote rail road ties, these were replaced 12 years ago with pressure treated wood, which has begun to rot out, entire wall needs to be replaced. Would also like to increase in height by 6 inches or so and regrade parking area in order to improve drainage. Work needs to be done be Labour Day.
Hi, I have a section in my front lawn that I would like to put sod on. There area to be covered currently has mulch and river rock on it. Over the years, it has become too much to maintain and is costly to replenish the mulch.
The work will include:
1) remove the mulch
2) remove plants
3) level the land (there is an area where water seems to accumulate)
4) add sod
In the pictures provided, the areas to be sodded are the mulch and river rock areas. Approximate size 600 to 800 sqft, irregular shape though.
Thank you!!
I have already purchased natural stone blocks (smooth cut on top and bottom).
The old wall was leaning and at risk of falling because it was poorly engineered. It has since been knocked down.
For the new wall, the soil needs to be dug up, and a proper foundation/footing prepared. Then the new wall needs to be built using the stone blocks.
Wall makes an "L" shape. One side of the L measures 30 feet in length, the other 20 feet. So, in all, about 50 feet with a 90 degree right-angle turn. About 2 feet high.
Located in the Glebe.
Looking to have this done in the next few weeks.
