Remove/demolish ice-damaged, rotting second storey porch roof on duplex (side by side) both sides. Rebuild/replace porch roof same as one demolished. Roof is simple, single sloped with vertical sides. Downtown location. Aluminum clad sides and soffit to be removed, not necessary to replace with aluminum cladding. Could be done in wood and painted. Could be vinyl. Downtown location. Setback from road/sidewalk is approximately 15-20 ft.
Quote demo and rebuild as one, or quote demolition separately and quote roof replacement separately.
We live in Barrhaven - house is 13 years old - 2 story Minto home with a front porch. The shingles on the porch are really curling and need to be replaced. The balance of the roof appears to be Ok. Eventually we will replace the roof shingles but at the moment we are looking around for quotes for the porch only. Contact via email is preferred. I can always send you a photo of the front of the house.

I want to replace the top of the existing pergola with a more modern looking roof that's covered (from rain). The existing posts are in good condition and are 6x6, and are spaced approximately 8x11' apart.
The first two images are of my existing pergola.
The following two are thoughts I had as to a more modern design with a covered roof. I was looking at Toja Grid for the structure, and having a corrugated plastic roof or metal roof on top. If the roof is flat (or lightly sloped), I would use electric snow/ice melting cables to prevent heavy snow load.
Replacing flat roof
To supply and install new flat roof with existing skylight
To supply and install a waterproof membrane with a protective covering - preventing water reaching the roof structure and the room below. Either Self adhesive membrane or single ply roofing Membrane with a 2% slope run off towards the outlets and gutters. (the client is open for suggestions)
Thermal insulation - Roof deck - Vapour control layer - Load bearing supportive structure (if required) -.Maintain or build new outlets, gutters, maintain surface perforations (plumbing stacks) and replacing the glass in the existing skylight. Lead flashing may need to be replaced. The flat roof area is approx. 30 ft x 32ft = 960sqft.
Re-shingling of roof. Plywood underneath is in very good shape (replaced last time the roof was done). No interior leaks, however shingles need urgent replacement. Curling up bad in the front. Approx 600 sq ft of roof.
House built in 1971. Roof not connected to neighbors.
There is also some flashing occurring near the eavesdrops, meaning where the water is suppose to be flowing into the eavesdrop, it misses and flows down the side of the house. This needs to be fixed as well.
Thanks!
Patrick
Hello,
I would like to know approximately now much it would cost to re-shingle a 1997 Minto Paloma model home (2 storeys) with the basic 15 - 20 year life span shingles. Square footage of the homes is approx 1800 square feet. The area of the roof is unknown, however if you contact me I can give you the information you require for a ball park cost.
Thanks!

Hello,
I am looking to get my roof replaced. The home was built in 1999 and has the original roof. The time has come to replace it. My home is roughly 1600 sq.ft and is a 2 story with a one car attached garage. We live in Constance Bay, about 20 minutes outside of Kanata.
I am also interested in eavestroughing (I am sure that is spelled wrong) as the house has some, but it is poor condition.
As for materials, I am looking for 20 year asphalt shingles, and a company with proper licensing / insurance and labor guarantees. I also want the nails removed off my yard as I have animals.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

Yesterday's high winds has damaged some shingles on my 2 story home. I have some curled and lifted shingles that need to be repaired/replaced. The colour is standard 2 tone black.
Many homes in the neighborhood were affected, so it could be a repair job that could lead to many other opportunities.
Attached pictures shows the damage.
Please provide a quote in your response.
I would like to replace the roof on my single detached home in Orleans including the roof on the attached garage. I would like to speak to a contractor for a quote and to discuss options for shingles (colour and style). I am hoping to have the replacement done in September or October. Thank you.
I need my roof reshingled, hopefully before the snow flies. Although I have no leaks, the existing shingles are about 15-20 years old (the house is about 60 years old) and it is clear the job needs to be done sooner rather than later. The two-storey house is in the Westboro area and the four-sided roof is not overly large (attic space is around 600 sq ft, and the job will include reroofing the garage and a small sunroom) and definitely not complex--there are no valleys or steep pitches to deal with. I will be looking for at least a 40-year shingle. It seems almost all my flashings are in great shape and need not be replaced. There are two mushroom-type vents that will need to be replaced with one (or two, depending on the model) tower vents. Only one section of roof edging needs to be replaced on the front of the garage since the existing one was painted at some point and the paint is peeling.
I am at the end of my tether with trying to find a contractor who can not only do a good job at a reasonable price, but one who actually responds in some fashion to telephone or e-mail requests to come and provide an estimate; shows up for estimates when he is supposed to; actually follows through with an estimate after seeing the home and taking the measurments, or at a minimum lets me know they are not interested or can't get it done before winter, etc. This shouldn't be this hard, and I am fed up with supposedly reputable companies effectively wasting my time. Therefore, I am turning the tables and contractors can come to me rather than me chasing contractors to no avail.
If there is a company out there who wants to give an estimate on this job and who is prepared to do what they say they will do, when they say they will do it, then please contact me by 5 pm, Wednesday, October 17.
Single family home in Ottawa (New Edinburgh). The existing roof is approx. 30+ years old... with no leaks or other problems; however the shingles are breaking down and will soon need to be replaced. We estimate about 55 bundles of asphalt shingles & 3 cap shingles (40 yrs.) and 2 maximum vents plus paper and water shield, nails, caulking, flexible flange, etc. will be required.
Reconstruct eves portion of west side roof of two storey home and install shingles on that portion. Will require some treatment of rafter ends to enable placing of facia, 1892 construction. Wood slat eves boards required for part or all of the section. Will also need repair or replacement of leaking drain pipe from balcony in same area.
My house, located in Tunney's Pasture area has gambrel (barn style) roofing. It has newer additions front and rear. Those newer sections are in good shape. The middle older section, has a visible dip in it. The trusses are sagging quite a bit and are undersized, approx. 2X4's. Prior to getting the roof resurfaced, I'd like to have the old section of roof flattened or straightened out so the roof is seamless front to back.
I would like to upgrade two existing vents on my roof, and to add a new vent.
I would like to upgrade two existing short builder vents to mushroom style ones that are taller (that will not be blocked by snow). I would also like to get a new vent added to a 1st story sub-roof on my house that doesn't currently have a vent. I noticed that ice dams formed this past winter, and my building inspector recommended I get a vent added to this section of roof.
My house is approximately 5 years old and has asphalt shingles.
I live in a semi-detached home. My neighbour and I would like to have our roofs re-done. There is approx. 3000 sq. ft of roofing. We have looked at aluminum shingle and the price was ridiculous.
We would be looking at a full replacement of the existing ashphalt shingles and replace as necessary any fatigued aspenite.
Home was built in 1959 and has currently 3 and possibly 4 layers of ashphalt shingle which are not leaking and appear to have been reasonably well applied. I would like to have all materials including all shingle nails removed from site also. We are actually planning this for early summer next year tentatively but possibly sooner. There are 4 layers at the edge of the roof-I am unsure if this means 4 full layers. Environmentally friendly solutions for shingle disposal welcomed.
I am closing on a home purchase June 30, 2017. Building inspector says attic requires better ventilation and roof should last another few years. I would like to have two new maxi vents installed (one will replace an existing low vent). There is also uplifting on some shingles and some cracks to fill on the metal sheeting joints at the roof's edge.
Hi we need someone to assess the ventialtion & insulation in our roofspace - approx 700 sqft.
In spite of increasing the size of roof vent and having the insulation assessed by a home energy consultant we continue to have an issue with ice and icicles on the roof during the winter. We must be losing heat or the roof is not ventilated enough - need to find a solution we have just had a new roof and want to have it last as long as possible.
I have 2 roofs to be re-shingled with tar paper and snow/ice shield, and am looking for quotes to have the work completed by the end of September.
The first roof is a steeper roof with a ridge vent running the entire peak. Inside is a cathedral-style attic so the ridge vents the space between each rafter down from the soffit - no other venting is required. There is a dormer and a few plumbing stacks requiring flashing/flanges.
The second roof the middle roof as the front of the house was done a few years ago after a wind storm. Its a smaller roof with easy access from rooftop deck. There a few dormers, vents need to be checked and and a few plumbing stacks requiring flashing/flanges. I'd like to match the front roof shingles which were BP Dakota, Grey tone, 25 yrs from Beacon Roofing Supply. I will supply a few shingle bundles, half tar paper roll, and half roll ice/snow shield which were leftover from the front roof job.
Please send me your quote for each address by Thursday Sept. 13th. Feel free to go to the addresses and have a look. Thanks for your interest and potential estimates.
