I have a 1970's bungalow with original oak strip hardwood floors that need refinishing, and a huge foyer/hallway that requires new tiles. I would like to take the oak floors to a darker stain, and I would like to use 18" tiles on the diagonal in the hall.
Total area of hardwood is approx 700 ft2 , and total area to be tiled is 213 square feet. All rooms are at right angles. It is mandatory that the job be finished on or before Dec. 17th. Otherwise I will be postponing til the new year, so as not to be under construction during the holidays,
We have purchased ceramic tile (24”x47”) to be installed on walls and will purchase white tiles for the ceiling of an upstairs bathroom. A diagram and photos of the bathroom layout are attached. The bathroom includes a corner shower stall, and a corner tub. The old shower stall has been partially removed, with only the floor pan remaining. A new shower stall has been purchased to replace this unit. The corner tub will not be removed or replaced.
The job consists of:
Removal of the existing tile on the walls and ceiling
Replacement of walls with new cement board if needed (materials not yet purchased)
Repair of water damage on walls (under the window by tub and over door)
Tile on window wall to continue below window to the corner
Installation of new tile (tiles already purchased) around existing tub, across to shower stall area, and over tub and shower
Installation of new shower stall (already purchased)
- Porcelain Tile installation for Standup Shower (4x5 feet); Ceiling Included.
- Drypack sloping of the concrete shower floor
- Kerdi or other Waterproofing methods to be discussed
- 12 sq. feet of bathroom flooring to be tiled
- 100 sq. feet of kitchen tile to be tiled
- 5 sq. feet of basement entrance to be tiled
Hello! I have a tile replacement and repair work that needs to be done in my mother's master bathroom. The shower area has a half wall that separates the shower from the bathtub. The tiles are coming loose on the half wall (we are concerned there might be mould behind the tiles - not certain though) and the glass panel on the top half recently broke. What we would like to do is have the tiles replaced in the shower area, any repairs done to the half wall and then the installation of a new glass panel, shower door and new fixtures. This is in a condo, so the work would need to be done during business hours as per condo rules. Thanks very much.
Regards,
Sonja W
I am moving into a new house (Pickering) and before we move in I'd like to put in new tile on the main floor. The area is a front doorway foey that turns into a hall and then a kitchen. Its about 400 square feet. I have 12x24 rectified poercelan that I'd like put down with a 1/16 grout line. The kitchen is being renovated so it will basically be empty. There is a bathroom and closet this tile will also enter on the floor.
There is currently ceramic tile down which I am willing to remove, help remove or if your price is good, pay you to remove.
Hi
We have a home in ajax and we are considering renovation.
We have a 400 square foot ceramic tile kitchen floor (and 100 square foot mud room) that we would like changed from white ceramic to a modern cream colour porcelain (we are installing new kitchen cabinets) and a 500 square foot foyer with a marble floor that has many cracked tiles and we would like to replace with a porcelain floor.
Can you please give me a price per square foot removal and installation price? We would supply tiles. You would supply all other materials.
Randy
I am Kitchen and bath renovator need Tiles setter
Location: Pickering (Liver pool and Bailey)
Area: 250 sft. in Kitchen straight forward job. Need Scratch coat and tiles setting. Tiles mostly 12x24 straight pattern matching grout will be supplied.
Time: Week of 30th Sept.
Back splash after counter top installed approx. 25 sft.same location. May be week of 19th Oct.
Contact with pricing.
We have 4 areas that we would like tiled:
-Foyer - not a large space (6'x8' approx?)
-Powder room (4'x6'?)
-2 bathrooms on the second level of house - do not have measurements
I do not have the exact square footage of each area but I would like to know approx. how much people charge for taking up exacting tile (there is tile in the foyer at the moment) and linolium in the other areas. I would think we would use either ceramic or porcelin tile for all of these areas. Also, I think the floors have some flex to them and would think that a new sub floor would have to be layed to ensure that the new tile doesn't crack.
If a contractor out there is able to give me a price by the hour or by the project, that would be great. We are quite serious about getting this done.
Patty
