We would like to add a bathroom to the basement in the most simple and fastest way possible. We need to have a functioning bathroom as soon as possible without worrying about having fancy finishes. We would like a shower but if it would be easier to get a bathtub installed we might choose that for now.
My phone is a land line. No text messages please.
Basement renovation consisting of about 650 sq ft including re-finishing the stairway.
Home is 60 years old and basement is currently partially finished but uninsulated.
Drywall walls and ceilings preferred with recessed lighting.
Install 2 doors.
Subfloor of delta dimple membrane and 5/8" Plywood subfloor overtop and styrofoam underlayment and laminate.
Homeowner in Scarborough East wants to add a Bathroom.
Job Description:
Convert an existing General Bathroom, plus the built-in Closet of adjacent room, into two (2) three piece Bathrooms - a smaller General bathroom and an en-suite bathroom.
Overall resulting space of approx. 90" x 130" is to be divided among the two new Bathrooms, each with a corner Shower Stall, Basin and Toilet.
Situation:
1955 Scarborough bungalow with original bath tub and white tile (ceramic or porcelain) over cement and wire mesh. Tiling goes up the wall. Bathtub lost its porcelain finish on bottom. Owner had it professionally re-glazed but only lasted 4 yrs. Now considering tub liner or replacement but preserving as much original wall tile as possible.
Job includes:
Breaking out first 1-2rows of tiles above tub. Remove tub. Insert a replacement tub with a soaker tub (no jets). Replace bottom row of tiles with a matching white tile or black border tile if no match can be found. Grout and caulk. Existing plumbing fixtures can remain in place.
Bathroom:
Remove and replace ceramic wall tiles
Remove and replace toilet and sink
replace lighting...perhaps pot lights
all materials will be supplied..vanity, toilet, tiles
bathtub is being done by bathfitter
floor and painting is also being done
size...9ft by 3 ft
house is 50 plus years old
Have noticed a dip in the floor by the tub getting worse. Owners before us have applied more layers of stick on tile instead of finding and fixing the root of the problem.
Need contractor to assess state of joists and floor boards and replace where necessary.
Plumbing with tub will likely need tweaks. Contractor must be able to provide wood working abilities plus plumbing. We need this done immediately. This is a small bathroom so we're hoping it's a small problem.
bathroom floor is cracked and leaking into basement around toilet. the basement is dry and good condition except where this leak is happening. There will need to be repair to the rotted wood in basement ceiling around leak. Back split house (so basement is about 4' high). Built in 1956. Would like entire b/r floor replaced along with new toilet Also - just moved into this house a couple of months ago... need a new kitchen sink, and dishwasher hook up.
Hi, looking for a nice contractor to remodel a bathroom in a unit of a commercial condo. We need to make the bathroom smaller, replace a bathtub with a compact shower, preferably that has a round shower curtain ( and not a glass enclosure) to allow more space, to maybe turn the toilet bowl (like a direction of it, to fit into space ), to replace sink-cabinet with smaller compact sink. Two walls need to be removed and replaced with new ones - thus making the bathroom space smaller. Inside the bathroom there are lights on the celling and electrical heater that needs to be dealt with (removed or moved). And all has to be done while not spreading dust all over the place - like sealing the area with plastic sheets. Also it has to look really nice and have good quality craftmanship. the Size of the current bathroom is 67 inch & 102,5 inch, needs to be reduced to approx. to 44 and 102,5. Thanks for reading, if you can assist us in this project we will be happy to meet you. We also looking for a good price, that is because it is about to be charitable organization. Thanks
Bathroom is an on suite 5' x 7', toilet, shower stall and vanity.
Have stripped down the walls to the stud 80%.
Need to install heated floor, drywall all area, add electrical lights and outlets along with replacing the service panel (changing from fuse to circuit breaker.) Have existing aluminum wiring.
Have all items to be installed in bathroom. Just need installation.
Very small bathroom not sure of the square footage but it barely fits a tub, toilet and very small sink. The house is 55yrs old. The reno is just for resell purposes so we are not looking to purchase top end products just something cheap put modern looking and functional. Please let me know approximately this would cost.
Thank you!
Jess

House is 40 yrs old. Basement bathroom has no duct. Bathroom is fully tiled (including ceiling) and has a stand up shower. Closest duct is in the hallway, approx 3-4 ft in front of the bathroom; that part of the basement is finished, which means duct is covered. Currently a good sized 3-peice bathroom with room to spare. Looking to take down a small 3x8' wall that divides the bathroom and a closet to enlarge the bathroom and make it a 4-peice with separate shower and soaking tub (shower is currently combined with a soaker tub??). All peices need updating. Floor will also need to be redone, unless we can find the exact same tile to extend to where there is currently a closet. Undecided on wall finish (ie: paint, paper, or tile, etc). Have a few ideas on layout, but need to know what's feasible - we are in a highrise condo building, and have to submit any renovation plans, along with proof of the contractor's insurance, to our condo board for approval prior to the renovations beginning. We're looking for renovation to be done this fall, hopefully, so need to get a start on the planning and choosing a contractor.
If we find a contractor we like we also have future projects to complete over the next couple of years (1 other bathroom, flooring replacement in bedrooms, living room, and some custom cabinetry throughout).
Please provide references and/or website, insurance limits, years of experience, and any other information you feel relevant by email. We will contact back only those that we are interested in receiving an in-home estimate from.
