Our house is a two storey single detached in an old community. The house is about +/- 35 years old, it is a finished basement apartment. The only missing in this basement apartment is a separate entrance so we could rent it out in the future. Could somebody provide a ballpark quotation to provide us an idea if this proposed project is affordable budget wise. Work will cover side excavation, concrete steps, waterproofing and finished wall opening ready to receive door. For exterior steps - at least a depth of 1.2 meter from ground to the bottom landing. If it meets the budget we would like to proceed as soon as possible - weather permitting.
Based from your knowledge and experience could you please provide a ball park quotation ...to be further discussed.
Regards,
Nina

We are looking at removing a supporting wall in our kitchen and adding a covered entrance way.
The house was built in 1951.
Looking for someone to come provide us a quote.
Pictures 1, 2 & 5 show the wall, looking to have either all or part of this removed and opened up, open to options.
Picture 3 is current front door and outside and picture 4 is the covered porch entrance we are looking to add.
Remove a support pole in the middle of my garage
Who would I contact to have a support pole removed from the middle of my garage? What would be a ball park idea of cost? Explanation: The garage is a 2 car/ 1 large door. L19ft x W19ft. Walls are in cinderblock. There is one bedroom (1 level) above. No basement under. Right in the middle there is an iron (or maybe steel) cylyndrical support pole sealed at its base to the concrete floor but I cannot see what type of beam it is supporting becase the beam is encased in drywall. I assume it is a large iron or steel I-Beam like the 2 I have in the basement, which are supported in their middle by identical looking poles.
Thanks in advance for your response.

I am in the process of renovating my home doing extension and 2nd story addition. I have existing brick on the 1st floor which has to be removed and stone and brick or stone has to be installed to my home.
Option 1 - stone to the face of the house and brick to other 3 sides.
Option 2 - stone all around the house.
I need to know the price difference so I can decide whether I want to go with option 1 or 2.
