I am thinking of opening up a wall, however, there is a cold air return running from 2nd floor to the basement through this wall. Is it possible to move the cold air return one stud over - use a 'jumper' to connect from the new stud run to the basement cold air return path (don't want to move that, as it is long). The issue is also that the next stud run has light switches and thermostat in it....will that obstruct the air flow at all?
We are looking at buying a new house. The owner that did the renovations to this house did not add hvac to the 2nd level, which is the master bedroom and a small bedroom. Wondering what the cost would be to add the hvac to the second level. We are trying to figure out costs before we buy the house so we know what we are getting into.

I would like to have an idea of how much $$$$ would be required to have a licensed heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) contractor to install service line, in a 1 bedroom basement apartment. The home is a 3 bedroom bunglow located in Scarborough, ON, the home has gas heating, however one half of the basement does not have any line install. Please let me know your price.
Relocation of furnace & hot water tank, including ducting from the basement center area (original location) to the east corner area - approximate distance is 6 meters to the proposed area. Please provide a ballpark estimate .. to be discussed and to be finalized further after physical assessment. I want to have an idea on the pricing, and if we can afford to proceed with this project.
Bought a 40 years old Bungalow. Now the Bungalow has got "gas-heated hot water
radiator system" and I am thinking of replacing it with forced air.
I need to buy new furnace, new A/C and installation of new ducts through out the house,
removing the old gas-heated hot water radiator system.

To my knowledge I think I need to buy new furnace, new A/C and installation of new ducts through out the house, removing the old gas-heated hot water radiator system.
Hello, I am looking for someone who can tell me what kind of humidifier would be best for whole home - water based heating - squishy pipes (don't know what else to call them). Town house is 4 years old. Would like one installed asap - this week sometime if possible. I have twins 15 months and it is way too dry.
