Bought an older home (1974) with a finished basement. Past owners did not finish the small cold room under the front porch, or ventilate it, so it just creates mold issues and allows water to come into the house.
The cold room is about 3' x 5.5' and 6.5' high. I am wondering how much it would cost to properly finish the room for dry storage, and ditch the cold room concept.
I need a separate entrance leading to the basement or convert the deck sliding door into an entrance. If I do option 2, I would need to create another kitchen somewhere in the house. I am not sure how to place the kitchen. I had thoughts of adding a stair well to the basement and creating the kitchen in the basement. However I am lost at what is the best move. pls help
I'm looking for someone to take my finish my unfinished basement. It is already framed and, on most walls, dry wall and insulation is 3/4 down the wall. I would like to increase the size of the windows and I also want to make sure that it will be a healthy space to be in, so making sure concrete is properlly prepared before finishing and making sure of proper air flow, etc..
If you are an experienced contractor in this area, please contact me.

It's approximately 400 square feet ,not including the room around the furnace as well as leaving a portion of it unfinished for a cold cellar. (2 doors would be needed). I would like a few rows of potlights, carpeted floors and perhaps a simple built in for the entertainment unit. Please provide me with competitive prices as well as availability and references.

We are looking to open up a load bearing wall built out of cinder blocks in the basement of our 1965 bungalow. Please see the attached image.
The opening should be a six (6) feet wide in order to provide open concept living in the future basement apartment. The new beam can be three 2 x 10's.
We already have the permit and don't require engineer drawings.
We are looking to get this done within the next four (4) weeks.
Thank you in advance.

Looking to get a painter to finish a basement apartment (baseboard/trim, walls, ceiling touch ups). Previous contractor completed first coat—this would be the finish coat with some minor touch ups overall, a relatively small job that should be finished fairly quick.
Looking to ideally have project completed in the next few days—overall job should not take more than 1-2 days.
Thank you
Hello to all the contractors, I am looking for a good, fare price contractor that knows, the job, no complain and do the basement as is his home. You have to love what you do, and do what you love. In life is not just fast work as Mike Holmes say, just to take the money and give a crap job. is ether do it right or not do it. And you steal from costumes, and life steal back from you. What you give out you receive back All, the contractors are getting scared of my basement when they come? Why? I am telling you why, because they not real men's. You can work on basements that they are materials around. So what ? What that big deal. Who is a real men, stop complaining and do the work with dignity, value, respect and ETC. The less you are complaining the better your life it is. The more you bitching the worst it will be.
Thank you with respect to the contractors that they care a lot to help others
Regards
