I recently had travertine tile installed (450 sq feet) and the tiles themselves are layed pretty decent. However, the finishing work did not go too well. The tiles have streaks in them, which I believe is from using incorrect sealer. Also, some of the grout work is pretty rough.
It is only in certain light that you can see how bad they look.
I am looking for someone with a lot of experience who knows exactly how to clean up the floors to make them look great.
Please contact me if you think you are capable of fixing this.
Thank you.
I have two rooms that either need the hardwood refinished, or laminate installed. I also have a hallway. kitchen and bathroom that needs ceramic tiles installed. This is a small older home and we are on a tight budget so we are looking a "handyman", not a large contracting company.
Install backsplash ( all materials already purchased) in kitchen area.Total area to be tiled is about 30 sq.ft. Tile is 2 inch by 4 inch sienna white marble mosaic four sided bevelled. Interior wall is plaster and ready for tiling. Property is a detached bungalow in the north end of St.Catharines.
Three floors of hallways and two stairwells which include landings and all steps. The building has concrete prefab slab construction. Total area is approximately 1,100 to 1,200 square feet. I have already bought porcelain tiles and related materials (I have been told that the tiles are quartz based.)
I had a travertine tile floor installed in January. The tiles themselves are layed down not too bad. However, the finishing work did not seem to be quite correct for the tile. The grouting job was rushed and then they were sealed right away. There is a strange kind of texture on the tile that is not removable with heavy elbow greece and tile grout remover. I am pretty sure that the problem is the type of sealer that was used. The tiles also seem somewhat "soft" as there a spots that tiny little knicks or holes have shown.
I am looking for someone who specializes in polishing/restoring tile flooring - specifically stone floors. Again, my guess is that these floors will need to be polished with some kind of special solution and then sealed witha proper sealer - but what do I know.
Please contact me if you are confident that you can fix this.
Thank you
