I live in a bungalow that is approximately 45 years old. We have a problem with extremely sqeaky floors throughout the house. The flooring is a mixture of hardwood, and vinyl tiles in the the kitchens and bathrooms.
Acces to the joists exists for approximately 50% of the basement so repairs may be limited to those areas as I do not want to rip up the hardwood.
At least one of the visible joists is noticeably angled and I think it is likely a major cause of the sqeaks. I would like a good contractor to come and restore the joist and see what we can do to minimize the squeeks.
I plan on installing 3/4" solid T&G oak flooring in my kitchen. Unfortunately, the existing sub-floor is Aspenite (21/32"). It also squeeks in the hiogh traffic areas.
According to the floor manufacturer, I should have 3/4" t&g plywood, glued and screwed and screwed and screwed.
My question is, when I make a cut around the wall perimeter, the joists running parallel along one side will be under the wall, so the edge of my new sheet will not have a joist to sit on. If I cut back to the preceeding joist, I will have a slight difference (and a wide strip) of Aspenite along the wall. The basement is also finished, so access from below is really limited.
Looking to replace the carpet in the combined livingroom and dining room area. The current sub-floor squeeks so that will also need to be repaired before installing the laminate wood flooring. The rooms contain large pieces of furniture and we don't have alot of ample storage space so I would need the flooring to be installed in one day so that we can place the furniture back on same day.

- install 70 sqft of porcelain titles in foyer, side door entrance and existing powder room
- remove all hardwood flooring throughout the first floor and 2nd floor including all bedrooms, hallway (approximately 1000 sqft)

- install new 4 1/4 inch maple hardwood (pre-finished) throughout the first floor kitchen, hallway, living room & dining room and 2nd floor hallway, 3 bdrms and 1 office
- sand and stain the current stairs with the same stain as the new hardwood
- remove wainscotting in bedroom 2
Optional / Additional Scope:
- supply and install interior doors for all closets and rooms
- paint all 4 bedrooms and hallway for 2nd floor

I need estimates for changing my carpeted stairs, halls and two bedrooms to hardwood floors.
My house is 32 years old. Carpets have been changed 15 years ago but are very tired. I may want pergo floors in the bedroom depending on the prices. The house is a four bedroom house and is 2000 square feet.
I need the stairs in my house to be done with laminate flooring (black), to match the existing flooring and wall colour.
In total there is 24 stairs separated by multiple floors in my house. I do not need the landings to be done.
As well, I would like a quote on having my doors redone in white.
My husband and I have tried (and started) to install Tigerwood hardwood flooring (hardwood), it has become too difficult for us, and are looking for someone who can install it for us. There is 720sqft to be done (minus the 7 rows we did).
We live in the Vaughan area, and want someone who has had experience installing tigerwood.
Thank you.
Sheila
