We are looking to do some aesthetic renovations in the kitchen and around the house. We're looking to redo about 30 sq ft of countertop - this would include removing the existing formica and replacing it with either a new formica or granite. We also want to remove about 30sq ft of existing backsplash and replace it with a new one. There is approx 1000 sq ft of hardwood that we need sanded and stained a dark colour. We need 5 rooms painted (one is large, four are smaller) the exact square footage of paint is unknown right now. The house is approx 20 years old. We get possesion of the house Oct 1, so we would like the reno's to be started then. Please give an estimate of each project seperately, as we're on a budget and it will be easier to alocate the money for the labour and materials if we know how much each project will cost. If the prices are reasonable, we may consider expanding the reno to include glazing/replacing two bathtubs and putting in new tiles backsplashes behind the tubs, and replacing a bathroom vanity.
I've listed the budget as $5,000 to $20,000, but we would like to keep it as low as possible and will probably have to cap it at a MAXIMUM of $7,000.
Thanks for your time,
Shira
We want to renovate our kitchen in a Condo in Thornhill, ON.
We need to elevate part of the ceiling and put a drywall to close the entrance to the solarium. Put new ceramic tiles (aprox- 150sqf), replace the cabinets and put new counter top.
We would also need to make 2 electrical outlets and extend the water pipe to connect to the fridge.
All materials are purchased by us , so we are just looking for labor estimate and time frame.
My kitchen cupboards are about 33 years old. I don't want to install new kitchen cupboards or spend a lot to resurface it. My living room floors are cherry hardwood floor and I tried to mimic the cherry color in the kitchen by staining the cupboard in cherry. However, it makes the kitchen look very dark. What do you recommend I do to make my kitchen look brighter and bigger without spending a lot of money.
Have a new place where the prev ownsers defaulted on the mortgage so the kitchen appliances were removed. I need new kitchen appliances, would like to redo the floor, countertops, and drawers/cupboards. Basically an entire kitchen if within the budget. I am thinking. I have an idea of what I would like it to look like. But might need some help designing it and seeing if what I want is possible.

We are a kitchen and bathroom company whose plumber did not show up to work today. We know this project is very small but the potential of future jobs with us is great. Current job requires running a copper pipe from existing sink to a 2nd sink 5 feet away. You will need to move the vent to the middle of the sink so both sinks will be as per code. Water pipes have been installed already. If possible we would need it done this weekend. Must be done by a licensed plumber has this job will be inspected by the city of Markham.
I would like to remove a wall between kitchen and dining room to expand kitchen and renovate kitchen.
Looking for high level estimates. Is the wall load bearing? I can see there is a thermostat in the wall (in dining room side) and electrical outlet (on kitchen side).
Please see the pics from both sides of the wall.
