Greetings,
The house was built in 2002. Basement has a finished self-contained unit. We are looking for quotes to perform the following work:
1. Check if present, and if not - install fire isolation in the furnace room, as per fire code
2. Install fire door leading into the furnace room, as per fire code
3. Supply and install fire detection device onto the furnace ductwork, as per code
4. Potentially install fire insulation (if it is not present and if it is required) between basement ceiling and main apartment above
5. Perform other work as determined on site, to satisfy compliance and obtain retrofit status
Property was sold with an outstanding building permit. Previous owner did not bother building to code requirements and sold the property prior to post-construction inspection. I want to provide a safe living environment to residents of the house and bring the property into full compliance.
We welcome you to visit us on site (during the day is fine) and survey the premises before submitting your estimates. Main intersection is Bloor/Bathurst, please contact for details.

I have a small stand alone corner shower in the basement, the floor is not even which holds water in one corner, tiles/grout are broken and molds. I am looking to have the tiles replaced and/or looking for recommendations/advise from professionals for a small renovation of my washroom.
We have a finished, dugout basement but would like to reconfigure the bathroom so that it takes up less space and has some natural light. The toilet and tub/shower would stay in the same location but the sink would move. The tub enclosure would be re-tiled and in-floor heating would be added to the bathroom.
I need to replace a basic bathtub and a vanity unit. I will also require new tile above the bathtub with simple basic tile. I removed old medicine cabinet and may need that replaced with a new one. Toilet will remain as will the floor tile. It is a typical sized washroom in a 1 bedroom condo so bathtub is basic sized as is the vanity. I am looking for a budget based on hourly or labour plus material costs.
Small basement washroom renovation project in Scarborough.
Needs: New tub, wall tiles (with water-proofing), vanity (prefer quartz top ideally with pull-out drawers), faucets, mirror (prefer with medicine cabinet), toilet, floor tiles, painting.
Also, need to replace existing exhaust fan with a model that has heating functionality. I can provide this as soon as the selected contractor can confirm the wiring can support a 1300 watt heater.
Some of the above is negotiable.
I purchased a new condo and the previous owners installed a soaking tub but did not level it. The tub leans 1/4 inch towards in the inside of the room. As a result, water flows onto to the floor each time I take a shower.
I am afraid if I don't do anything molds will get in the grout and I will have to redo all the tiles, which are same all over the bathroom, entrance and kitchen.
I tried to paste the curtain to the wall and it does not work, the water still flows even with a big towel or heavy bottle to hold the curtain..
I though of the plastic triangle too, which I saw at home depot. I don't think it will solve the problem as the water instead of flowing in the corner will accumulate further and flow over the middle of the tub, which will be more dangerous as it will increase the chances to slip off as I step out the shower.
Can I just remove caulking around the tub, level up the tub and re-apply caulking, as the caulking is over the tiles? Would that be the least expensive solution to permantely solve the problem?
Thank you for your time and cooperation,
Lise
Hi,
Please provide me a quote/estimate to convert my current bath tub to walk in shower.
See attached photos.
Jobs to be done:
1 ) Remove bathtub replaced with Shower Base/Pan. Install shower door.
2 ) The white tiles existing must remain (still in very good condition). Add tiles, acrylics or any waterproof materials on the upper part and to the ceiling.
3 ) Add/Install shower head, no need to drill for the pipe in the wall, the water supply must come from the tub water spout.
4) Remove the existing shower stall in the corner.
5) Remove/Install the vanity, toilet.
6) Finishing and painting.
Please provide estimated cost for Labor Only, as much as possible I will buy the materials.
Existing floor is marble, no need to change. Bathroom size 10Ft x 8Ft.
I’m located at Steeles Avenue West and Kipling.
Thank you so much for your assistance.
Best Regards,
Rob
I have a 2 bathroom condo in forest hill. Both bathrooms are currently identical with a vanity, toilet and tub. What I need done is to replace the two vanities with new ones (which i have found and Lowe's) replace the tiles in both bathrooms and in bathroom 1 put glass sliding doors for the tub and in bathroom 2 remove the tub and replace with standup tiled shower.
There is some small tile replacement to be done in the kitchen as well. This job can be started immediately.
I am one of 2 owners of a semi-detached house that is about 100years old. The bathroom is located on the second floor, directly above the living-room. In this past week or so, on different occasions, we have noticed a tapping noise, which generally does not last much longer then 10-15 seconds in the living room ceiling. At this stage we have not experienced any kind of water leakage. The other concern I have with the bathroom is, there is no air vent in the room.
I look forward to your reply.
En suite bathroom. Situation: Bathroom partly completed by a contractor that abandon the job with my money. Looking for some one to finsh the job at a reasonable price. It is a shower stall reno and all of the tiling is completed except for some grouting. Fixture accessories need to be completed. It needs to be seen for an accurate quotation.
We are looking to do a facelift of our existing bathroom.
The bathtub will stay but im expecting that all the tiling (including the floor) and the drywall in the bathroom needs to be replaced. The bathroom is very small, maybe 5' x 4' so if we can be presented with design ideas to maximize the space as well that would be nice.
We also only have this one bathroom in the house so getting this job done as quickly (and cleanly) as possible is a big concern for us. But we obviously dont want to sacrifice quality for the sake of rushing the job either.
Thanks.

I have a leak in my bathroom, that has caused damage to my kitchen ceiling which is directly below the bathroom. The size of the water damage is about two feet. I would like an estimate for the price to fix the water damage. I also would need to figure out the cause of the leak, however I know that can not be estimated.
- want to completely gut and renovate small upstairs family bathroom (about 8 x 7 feet)
- maintain current layout of tub-shower combo, vanity, toilet
- switch shower fixture from glass side of tub-shower to wall side
- replace bathroom window
- install new ceiling fan
- install approx. 4 pot lights
- house is older (1950s)
- bathroom is about 35 years old
Water closet (30" x 63") 2nd floor of home, needs old floor tiles removed, reinforce one joist, and have a plywood subfloor installed. No finish flooring for now. Main materials provided by owner. Toilet will be re-installed by our own plumber.
Secondly, small drywall work to be done in basement, just to cover exposed new main stack and make good to existing drywall. Also, cut away existing drywall around base of a brick support column (2' all the way around), and replace with new.
Thirdly, remove old baseboard in basement and install new paintable 4" MDF (you supply) along 96 running ft. No quarterround.
Basically as the title says we are looking to renovate the bathroom and kitchen. Ideally we would like a new tub that we can use as a stand up shower as well with new toilet and sink.
For the kitchen, ideally we are looking to install a dishwasher, possibly a pantry and counter top on the side that is bare.
Please let us know with these basic outlines and photos!
