We’d like to renovate our condo bathroom. We are the property owners.
Size of the room is approximately 10ft by 5 ft. There is currently a wall/closet in the room that will have to be removed, and a wall built between the bathroom and a closet.
We’d like to replace all items - tub (we want the deepest one you have), toilet (we have a bidet seat to install, but require an electric plug behind the toilet to attach it), sink/vanity (3 ft, approx), medicine cabinet/mirror (3 ft), and we’d like to move the stacked washer/dryer beside the sink. Also, floor and shower will require tiling. The room currently has a swing door, we’d like a pocket or sliding door to save space. We’d also like to replace the lights currently attached to the wall with pot lights above.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
The bathroom is a blank slate at the moment--bare with fresh drywall, loose plywood floors (with plumbing rough-in).
Need:
- remove existing window and fill in
- create false wall in front of window for shower fixtures
- install tub (not provided)
- install glass enclosure and tile around tub (full height) (not provided)
- install toilet and vanity (provided)
- tile floor (regular 12 x 12 ceramic or porcelain)
- install vent (electrical rough-in, no vent rough in)
I would like to renovate my entire bathroom in my high rise condo. It's a 4 pc bathroom, which involves demolishing the current bathroom and rebuilding it with new stuff. The bathroom is approximately 40 sq ft. I need new wall/shower tiles, new floor tiles, new tub, new toilet, new light fixture, new vanity with new sink faucet and new shower faucet. The current tub is standard size. The current vanity dimension is 29"W X 24"D X 31" H. I would like wall and floor tiles to be ceramic. Also, my ceiling is stucco type ceiling. I need to get rid of it and flatten the ceiling.
Please quote labour and material separately. Please provide timeline to complete this kind of reno. Please make sure the quote includes waste disposal (cleaning the site).
Also, please let me know if you are licensed.
Thanks,
Rahim
Seeking estimates for a bathroom renovation project at my house in midtown Toronto. It involves an update of an upstairs 6'x6' bathroom (convert free standing tub to alcove, replace wainscotting, tile baseboards, change toilet and vanity), improving the DIY plumbing job that the old bathroom had, and completing a basement bathroom renovation that was suspended last year due to the pandemic.
Demo of existing bathroom (Tub, separate shower cubicle, vanity and Toilet) and removal of floor and wall tiles, disposal of waste.
Electrical: Repositioning of ceiling and mirror light, install towel warmer (light fixtures, mirror and towel warmer supplied by client).
Drywall: repositioning of low wall (building out into eaves about 30in)
Move plumbing for tub and vanity. Frame and install new drop in tub (tub and taps supplied by homeowner). Tile floor and walls 12in x 24in tiles with some mosaic (tiles, mortar and grout supplied by homeowner).
Install new vanity (vanity, sink and taps supplied by homeowner)
Install new toilet (includes moving toilet plumbing sideways approx 8in, Toilet supplied by homeowner)
Paint.
We have a bathroom that we want to do a full gut on.
we will be changing everything in the bathroom including taking tub out and want to replace with rain shower with glass doors.
the size of the bathroom is small only 8 1/2 feet x 5' 1".
the counter top must be kept as the base is built into our cubbord in the hallway but we could raise the counter by 3 inches as we want to center the sink in the middle affecting the space in the cubbord below.
We need the bathroom in our condo renovated. Things to be replace: tile on floors and wall, drywall (all 4 walls plus ceiling), skylight, bathtub, sink (pedestal or vanity), toilet (low flow), shower and sink faucets, and some plumbing. We also need a heater small heater to be removed behind the toilet. There has been a leak in our roof with has seeped into the drywall and mold has accumulated near the hard to reach skylight. The condo is about 25-30 years old. It is a small bathroom but it has a very awkward shape. The height of the bathroom is about 7 feet. The skylight is about 1x1 foot and is about 2 feet deep which is weird. The sides of two of the walls are about 5 feet. The wall of the entrance is about 7 and a half feet. The last wall is 5 and a half feet and is angled joining one of the 5 feet wall and the 7 and a half feet wall.
Dear HandyCanadian.com
We are a small Co-operative building in the east end of Toronto (Queen & Woodbine). It is a 48 year-old 3 storey building with stairs only. We have three small apartment sized bathrooms (approx. 5 X 5 ft.) that would require: (1) Tub Surround (20yrs. old) to be removed, (2) Possible wall damage needing to be removed (one wall has black mould that needs to be removed safely and professionally, (3) Installation of a simple off white or beige bathroom tiles (4) All unfinished areas to be primed (5) We would prefer low VOCs caulking if possible (6) All fixtures and tubs do not need to be removed. We request the expertise of a contractor who has knowledge of mould removal with bathroom renovations. Thank you. Please email us to set up an appointment to view the bathrooms to provide us with written quotation of the project. We also request 3 business references of former projects completed and as well warranty period of your work.
Thank-you very much.
Sincerely
Adriana and Michelle
100 year old, run down house belongs to my mother. She is 88 and hard of hearing. I am trying to find out costs involved with bathroom renovation. Her house has not been updated. Old cast iron claw tub is now leaking and needs to be replaced. No shower at the moment but she would like new tub and shower unit . Plumbing pipes would need to be upgraded. Just looking for rough online estimate right now.
We need to totally renovate our tiny bathroom with new tile on all walls and the floor, new corner sink ,vanity and custom counter, new toilet ,medicine cabinet, a very small tub and a small window over tub. Although it was previously renovated (our guess is in the 80's) the house was built in 1923. The room is ( length 5' 7', width 5 '3' height 8' 5' ). We want traditional quality finishes at a reasonable cost. We'd like to know how long it will take to complete since our only other bathroom is a powder room. Please give us your estimates online only. If we want you to come to our home for a more precise price we will contact you. Thanks.
I have a one bathroom and half bathroom condo. The bathtub is old and needs to be replaced. I'll additionally likely need to retile floor and add backsplash for main bathroom. Add new vanity to guess bathroom. Looking to potentially add ceiling light, replacing light fixture, and replace kitchen sink.
We need to rip out our 5 ft x 8 ft bathroom (on our 2nd floor) and then install radiant floor heating, a new tub, new toilet, new vanity, mirror, lighting and tile the floor and walls. We would like the work done in March if at all possible and have done fairly extensive research on materials etc. we would like both online estiamtes and detailed quotes for this project.
My wife and I just bought our first home in the Dundas/Runnymede area. The house is approximately 110 years old and most of it is in fairly good condition. However, the bathroom has not had any major work done since the 1960's so it is in desperate need of a re-design and updating.
Unfortunately, we don't have a lot of money to spend right now.
It is a fairly small bathroom at approximately 25 square feet. The toilet definitely needs replacing and the tile behind the tub (and possibly the tub) need to be replaced as well. The floor could also use a bit of an update.
Please contact me if you require any more details (as I'm sure you do). Thanks in advance!
I am interested in renovating my bathroom. It measures just over 5ft by 7ft in size. The bathroom contains a bath, shower, toilet, and vanity. Everything will be staying in its original place, but will be replaced with all new material. I am interested in getting some bids for the project. I am located in the east end of Toronto (just east of downtown). Please email me with some bids or if you require more information
The plumbing comprises building the rough-in for the washer/dryer in the location specified in the drawing. To get the supply of water for the washer/dryer we can branch to the supply lines that service the powder room below. The supply for cold water to the toilet already passes above the bathroom ceiling to reach the toilet from the opposite side. We can do the same for the hot water.
For the drain we need to connect to the same stack as built so we can pass the drain across the first floor ceiling as shown in the drawing.
The H.V.A.C. should be very straightforward with the bulk of the work being the removal of a lot of excess duct work. The only additions will be the installation of individual exhaust fans for the bathrooms (highlighted in pink) in lieu of the dual acting fan in the as-built, a wye branch to combine the exhaust lines of the bathroom (highlighted in green) and finally a dryer exhaust fan and lint trap (highlighted in blue).
The added room from the moving of the washer dryer should allow us to expand the bathroom to include a walk in shower in addition to a new tub.
We have gutted our bathroom and we need someone to put
- vapour barrier up
- advise about cement board / densshield / blue drywall & red rubber paint, which one to use?
- mudding / taping
- tiling
we have a plumber. We have bought a new bathtub that will fit the old pumbing, so our plumber will be hooking it up.
Bathtub is going against outside wall. Need to install a vent (not sure if we can / should install it in the shower). We are considering a wall vent that is placed directly on the wall to the outside. Electrician has already done a rough in, but if we put the vent in the shower, we're not sure that it's been properly GFCI'ed.
We are looking for someone who can come and work ASAP. We can provide all the materials if you give us a comprehensive list of what to pick up.
The project is about a small bathroom, just big enough to fit in basic elements. Right now there is a claw foot bathtub, toilet, pedestal sink (all due for replacement) a wall cabinet and a small floor cabinet, with painted walls and composite (I think) tiles on the floor. It was renovated in the past before we bought the house, maybe 17-18 years ago. We'd like floor entirely stripped off and redone, because there may have been some water damage/rotting of the wooden beams underneath. We are not sure if the walls would need to be redone entirely as well. We are thinking either refinishing the tub and going for a "traditional" look (to match our 90-year old house!), with perhaps black and white tiles on the floor and white tiles on the wall or a very modern one with combined tub/shower with glass enclosure and possibly glass tiles on the walls. Either way, we need to include some storage to make the best use of limited space.
online estimates only please.
room is 5 feet by 8.5 feet, door is located on the short wall and window on opposite short wall , house is 50 years old, preferred materials walk in shower no tub, new toilet just installed and used in renovation, vision is to have tub, vanity sink and toilet on one wall
simple, cheap and cheerful, nothing fancy
thank you Mona

Our first priority is to replace our bathroom cabinet (about 5.5 feet long), but in an ideal world, we would also like to replace our sinks, tub and toilet. We do not want to change the layout, but the room overall is just feeling a bit tired. The bathroom (approx 11x8 feet) has hardwood floor which we want to keep (except around the toilet, where there is a little bit of tile). The house is about 80 years old, and the bathroom used to be the third bedroom, but was turned into a bathroom several owners ago.
