Hello, we have purchased an older home in Bloor west. We would like to remove a15 ft wall between the kitchen and dining room, and change the tile in the kitchen (approx. 15 X 8). We would like to drop in an island with electrical and lighting overhead. May need work on a plaster ceiling.
Also, upstairs, there are two bathrooms. One has a toilet and a sink, the second has a tub and a toilet. We would like to either make one large or two small bathrooms. If the latter, we would like it joined to the master as an ensuite. Include the word accomplish in the subject line of your reply so I know you pay attention to details. We have not determined the budget to date.
Our move in date is mid July and we would like the work done between July 13 - July 30. Please confirm if you are available during this time in your reply. You must be fully insured with previous experience in older Toronto homes. We are doing a house visit the week of May 20, in the evening, and you would walk the house with 1-2 other contractors. Again, confirm you are available for a walkthrough next week.
Thank you,
Terry
Hello,
I live in a condo built in 1973 in the Keele and Finch area of Toronto.
I have a small en suite bathroom I am considering turning into a Wetroom but I would definitely need help with the design as well as the the actual construction. I've seen them in Europe and I'm not a huge fan but with the set up of my bed room I think it is the only way to add a shower to the area.
The room is
86" Height
56" Width
61" Length
So you can see when you add a toilet and sink the area is not big at all. The room has a radiator which I don't know what I could do (Floor heating maybe) now budget is definitely a concern. I know I would want it done professionally as I don't see this as a DYI I would tackle.
Please let me know what you think as far as budget or if you would need to see the room to be able to ballpark a price estimate.
Thank you
Nathaniel

We are hoping to renovate our current clinic washroom into an accessible one. We have had wheelchair patients in the clinic before, but we have been lucky as their wheelchairs were retrofitted to their own size and they were able to use our washroom. All of our doorways are large and can accommodate a wheelchair, however the washroom cannot.
Our clinic has been open since 2016 and we have been wanting to undertake a project like this for quite some time. I am asking if a quote can be provided regarding how much this project will cost and how long it will take.
It seems we will need to expand the current washroom outwards (see images) and move the kitchenette area up. We have a lot of space at the back of the clinic where the washroom is so we can expand as needed as long as it is upwards.
We have gotten permission from the landlord for this construction.
I do not expect a start date until next year (when the clinic patient flow slows down again).
The project involves remodeling our current bathroom to be more accessible for seniors and people with disabilities. The bathroom currently have 5 tiny stalls, which we would like to reduce to 4 larger stalls.
Work would involve replacing counter top and sinks, moving stalls and replacing toilets etc... onsite estimates only.
Work details
• Build accessible restroom according to building & plumbing plans
• Install toilet & sink in existing restroom with existing rough-ins
• Fix existing toilets (weak flush)
• Install electrical line for countertop commercial oven
• Improve air circulation to building according to mechanical plans
• Extend existing air duct approximately 30ft
• Drywall & framing (adjusting the dimensions of a 10”x10” room)
We're looking for a team of professionals that have respect for quality and timeliness. We are a small business and we open in the early evening (5pm-11pm). We would prefer to remain open during the renovations, but if closing is required it has to be over the weekdays as 80% of our business is on weekends.
Thank you for your time.
There are three public bathrooms in total to be renovated in a building near the CNE, built in 1912. Two are older and predate our occupation of the building, but are not original. The other was added by our consruction and renovation of the building in 1993. Most toilets and sinks are newer. There are currently 17 stalls for ladies(2 wheelchair) and 5 stalls and 9 urinals (?) for men. Space is an issue, if there is a way to maximize the space to add more stalls, that would be ideal. Finishes and lighting that allow guests to feel like they are in a castle while in the washrooms is the look we are going for. Currently, the flourescent lighting and colours look too institutional.

We have a small condo bathroom (approx. 32 sq. ft.) that we would like to renovate. We are the owners of the condo. We want to convert the tub into a stand up steam shower (approx. 10.7 sq. ft.). We found a company to do the specialty glass. We have the tiles for the bathroom floor. Our main concern is waterproofing the steam shower extremely well using Kerdi material or another trusted brand. We would like the shower waterproofed and tiled and the floors tiled. We don't have a set start and end date, we are looking for the right company with the right price to do the work.
Hello There,
I hope this note finds you well and in good spirits.
I'm currently contemplating updating the bathroom in my downtown condo (Spadina Ave and Front Street West).
I spoke with the property management and was told all contractors must be licensed and have proof of license and insurance before commencing any work on site. So that is the first requirement. Very strict!
That being said;
I would like to remove the existing 13" x 13" wall and floor ceramic tiles and replace it with potentially the same size but more modern white finish.
I would like the bathroom to be completely tiled.
I would also like to replace the vanity, sink, medicine cabinet..
and replace the shower curtains with more sanitary shower doors.
Faucets are in good condition but I'd also like to replace with more modern faucets.
Adding new accessories is on the list as well (toilet paper holder, towel bar, towel ring).
The tub is in excellent condition.
The toilet will also remain the same only installing a new toilet seat.
One light fixture to be replaced with another 48" fixture.
Overall it needs more updating than anything else.
I hope this helps.
Lucy
