Hi,
Our porch is about 35" above the lawn. The concrete stair from the lawn to the porch has 4 steps (including the porch level). Each step is almost 9" high, too high for old people and children. We want to convert the existing 4-step stair into a 5-step one, with each step 7" high. We don't want any work to the porch itself, just the stair. The current stair is tiled, but the new stair will be just concrete. The steps are about 5' long and 11" wide.
Thanks in advance.

Need to work with concrete company to form and pour garage pads, ranging in size from 240 - 440 square feet. We build the pads with "curb walls". Must have experience with this type of garage pad construction. They are to be constructed to the City of Toronto TACBOC specifications. Also have concrete patios and walkways etc. work in concrete. Steady work throughout the season for the right man. We want to deal with the man actually doing the concrete finishing.
Hi everyone, will try to be brief again:
Over the years, the ice snow and or salt has caused the edge of the concrete on the stairways to crack, chip away, and is growing slowly each year.
How do we fix this, in an econimical way. Where do we find a contractor, and how much would they charge for this. How long would it take.
My neighbor has similar issues. Often it is also from watering of pots and plants that sit on this concrete. Irregardless, we need to add concrete (a new fresh edge) to this. I was told to get some wood pieces and put wet concrete on this. Not sure how exactly, but would like to know how to do this if it is a DIY. (links to this are welcome and appreciated).
Thanks again everyone... :)
I need a new concrete walkway poured around the front and side of my house after having some basement waterproofing done. Ave. width is 2'-6" and total area is approx. 155 sq. ft. Most of the old concrete has already been broken up and removed.
I'd like to get the work done as soon as possible.
I'm home on Wed. and Thurs. of this week during the day for any site visits.
Lay concrete walkway between houses and extend concrete walkway to back porch.
The walkway will consist of the following lengths:
1. First Section - 38' x 3' 1""
2. Second Section - 13' 10" x 5' 7"
3. Third Section - 13' x 4' 1 1/2"
The walkway MUST be leveled so that all water's will run down & away for houses.
See attached pictures for current view.
The houses are old semi-detached masonry (solid brick) set 4 feet apart. We had a membrane installed last fall to control seepage in the basement. Because it was late in the year and freezing, the walkway was not reinstalled. The area of the walk-way to be replaced is 2 feet by 25 feet for the first portion and widens to 4 feet for the next 9.5 feet an area of damaged concrete 2 feet by 9.5 feet that will have to be removed and replaced. The new concrete should be at least 4 inches thick over a suitable packed substrate after removing the soil that is currently level with the existing concrete. It must be graded to the front of the property and away from the base of the house.
I am looking to have a pathway made parallel to my driveway. Currently the area is mostly gravel. The approximate dimensions are 5' x 23'. The pathway should be concrete/cement as I am not a fan of interlocks and stamped may be out of my price range.
Please let me know what your estimates are or if you are willing to come by to give me a quote. I'd also like the job to start as early as possible.
The picture attached is from before the lawn/driveway etc was completed.
Hello there,
I would like to get 3 separate quotes for having a concrete driveway pad installed (PAK-1) and having the weed/grass area scrape and have new soil and sod laid (PAK-2). Then a quote for being able to both jobs at once.
If you have any questions feel free to give me a call.
Eric
CONCRETE DRIVEWAY PAD– (PAK-1)
This is what the quote would be based on for the concrete driveway pad is for. Item # & item #2 that are connected together. I'm not sure if item#2 is necessary but I would leave that for you to determine.
Also where the 4 green dots are located I would like to have some footings poured installed for possible future project. I have 4 but I think I'm going to go with 6.
Please see JPEG attached for Concrete Pad Measurements - ITEM #1 & ITEM #2
GRASS & SOD & SOIL PACKAGE – (PAK-2)
Here is want you have to work with. I did a renovation a couple a years ago and they put a bunch of gravel down and I have that nice strip of weed up the middle. What I would like done is to have it scraped up a little and then back filled with soil and then have Sod laid down. I would like to build it up to around 6" as shown in the second picture.
Please see JPEG for Grass Measurements

We are looking for someone with the expertise to place a steel lintel, and then cut through cement to create a hole for the new garage door
We are creating a garage door parallel to our existing garage door
(so that a car may drive through the garage into a parking pad)
-- Hole will be ~8ft wide, there is currently a plastic window that will be removed and encompassed in the new door
-- Our garage is made of cement block
-- Steel lintel and placement required to support the garage
I have a mutual drive in east toronto which ends in a backyard parking pad. I need the parking pad removed as it serves no purpose (car doesn't fit between the houses). This would entail cutting down the centre of the property line as the neighbour would like to keep his concrete and would likely entail cutting around the house as the drive touches the house. The concrete would then need to be removed. Also, there is an old garage foundation that is only about 6 inches thick that needs to be removed.
I am a leading Decking company looking for some assistance. I have obtained a job in Mississauga to build a new deck. The old deck has been removed but oddly there are some free standing concrete steps that need to be removed. ABout five steps high and 4 1/2 feet wide. Too heavy to lift but need to probably have it broken down and carted away. Also the old deck piers are still there. They are 8 inches in diameter and 3-4 feet above grade. These can be broken off at grade level and removed. No need to dig up the concrete below grade.
Please advise as too cost of removal and how quickly you can get it done.
Regards
Mike
• Move the HPB pile from the driveway to make space
• Dig the dirt as per the yellow areas in the drawing. Total: ~ 417 sq ft @ 16” deep from the driveway level. The asphalt lines on the driveway where the digging areas stop have been cut (see pictures).
• Install geotextile on the bottom of the areas (provided by me)
• Fill out and compact the areas with 12” deep ” clear gravel. Total: ~ 417sq ft @ 12” (~ 16yd3)
* Quote should include excavation, dirt removal, and disposal + ” clear gravel cost, delivery, install, and compacting.
Quote only if you have and excavator, truck to remove the dirt, and tamper to compact the gravel.
We have brick front steps that we had, a few years back, covered with stone tiles to improve aesthetics. After a few winters, many of the tiles have changed shape, have come completely loose, and are unsafe to walk on. We've attempted to re-secure them, but the same issue reoccurs quickly.
The top portion of the steps (as you approach the front doors), which are covered in cement/concrete and have little ridges pressed in to make them look a bit more tile-like, are very sturdy, but I'm not sure if this can be done on the remaining steps as these are layered bricks.
Next to the front steps is a sloping interlock brick driveway where the bottom of the driveway has settled over the years under the weight of cars and some concrete has cracked near the drain.
I've attached some photos of both parts of the steps. We're looking to receive estimates and suggestions on what our options are.
Require a 40' concrete encatchment (for lack of a better term) poured between my home and the neighbour's home. Neighbour's home already has it poured on their side. Width of 2', plus 1' for a french drain (because I have been told that to slope it correctly would be difficult).
Also require a rebuild of front porch concrete stairs, and some interlock work done as well.

Hi there,
Unfortunately, my new house has been neglected. The veranda is in need of repair. Along the side of the veranda the cement is falling off ... the stairs also need to be repaired as there are huge chunks of the stuff that have come off ... you are now able to see the steel rods in the veranda ... The actual veranda itself (where we walk and sit) is fine - at this time, I am not looking at repairing ... just the perimeter ...
Thanks
We need the original hardwood floors upstairs to be refinished. Approximate area is 400 square feet. Then we need laminate installed on the main floor (living/dining room), approximate area 300 square feet. We also would need ceramic tile for the entry way (or some water proof, non slip flooring), about 25 square feet there.
We own the house and it's a rental, but will be empty in July, when we would need the work done.
Also, do you do concrete work? The walkway leading up to the house (about 2 feet by 9 feet) needs to be replaced.
Front dorr entrance porch which is presently concrete needs minor repair and would like suggestions on concrete tile or other materials. Would prefer not to have indoor/outdoor carpet which was previoulsy there and has been removed.
Area is 5 ft wide and 4 ft long at bottom then 3 steps up and 5 ft wide and 9 ft long above stairs.
My concrete front steps need repair. The entire first step is made of low quality concrete and is now spalling. It may need to be replaced entirely. The surfaces of the remaining three steps are also spalling and only need to be resurfaced. I prefer the entire stair to have a consistent look of fresh new concrete and not a patched-up look.
We're having our furnace replaced this week, and the supposedly skimmed concrete floor is degraded. We'd like to have it reskimmed before we put all our things back in the area, so we're hoping for a quick turnaround this week.
It's a small area, 5'6" x 15'6"
