I am looking to get an estimate to replace my current lighting with track lighting. I already bought the lighting so it only need to be installed. There are 2 small track lighting to be installed.
I am located downtown Toronto, close to the Fort York area.
All electrical outlets on one wall, both sides lost power. No breakers were tripped. The outlets were working fine prior. This is an older condo building and the 2 bathrooms have no GFCI's. We'd like those installed (depending on cost) We'd like the work done ASAP but it's not an emergency.
Add 4 pot lights in bathroom: 2 in bath/shower (thinking on the bathroom ceiling fan switch) and 2 above vanity (replacing wall mounted light).
Move light switches: currently behind bedroom door due to bedroom wall added after initial construction. 2 should go outside bedroom (living room), and 1 stay in bedroom, but ideally they'd go on the other side of the bedroom door frame.
Move thermostat. Similarly currently inside bedroom, but should be on the other side of the bedroom wall (only a few inches away).
Note that I'm also considering doing the work myself, so if there's anything I can do to prepare the work and reduce costs, please indicate it.
I run a small accounting firm from a live/work space downtown toronto. i need qualified help to assess electrical panel and extend additional lines to make sure circuits are not overloaded. we have a new server that needs to get going and electrical work/assessment/fix has to be done first
a backsplash to be installed, maybe 35sqft total, backsplash to run up to the bulkhead from the top of the stove with the hood fan then attached over it and backsplash on the sink wall as seen in the picture.
I could also have plumbing done, a full redo of under the sink starting from the shutoff valves to the dishwasher, baskets, drain etc.
Pictures are attached along with the hoodfan and tile to be used.
***If you can do plumbing please let me know as well***
Need to connect a bar fridge to the compressor that is 4 ft away.
There are two outlets on the compressor that connect through one 1/4 inch pipe and another slightly larger pipe to the bar fridge.
Looking for someone to come in and connect them so I can turn on my bar now
Location at Keele and Dundas
I am renovating my basement and am looking for an electrician to do the following;
a) review existing electrical setup and provide quote to to bring it to standard with appropriate permits.
b) install LED pot lights and receptacles.
c) install a 240v receptacle and move another.
Installation of bathroom fan in upstairs bathroom.
We have the fan purchased, insulated hose from the roof vent installed and wire from the switch already in the attic. We need the fan installed into the upstairs bathroom ceiling and the hose and wires (which may require a junction box) connected to the fan. Please note that attic is filled with the fluffy cotton ball like insulation. Licensed electrician required to do the work.
I live in an apartment building with some quite bad property managers, and want to circumvent their system (i.e. no repairs, and shoddy repairs when required) to install a bathroom fan that will manage the moisture in our small bathroom 7'3" (W) x 5'(D) x 7'10 (H). The existing fan does not do the trick, and black mould in the bathroom is the result. There is a healthy layer of dust behind the vent, and just beyond the fan, as well.
I would ideally like to pick up something with low sones that can handle this bathroom size. I know there are models that can gauge humidity within the bathroom and auto-operate when necessary, and would be interested to know if that is a possibility as well. A quote for installation with and without the humidity gauge ability would be appreciated.
If it helps, the current fan opening is 10" x 10".

Looking for a handyman who can built and install the following :
Carpentry - Need to have three simple wooden frames built (specific measurements) and have them installed from floor to ceiling to serve as room dividers ( look like sohji screens ).
Electrical - Need to wire and install two wall sconces and also extend current wiring/cabe to a different wall location.
Price and quality are important.
Just bought a 60 yr. old semi-detached, backsplit home.
Carpets need to be removed from Great room (dining room/living room), 2 staircases (6-7 steps each), 2 small hallways and 2 bedrooms (approx. 1200 sq. ft. total)
Depending on condition of floor once carpets are removed we may need to completely overhall the floors or just polish them. Original owners in home have always had carpet. Two rooms have already had the carpets removed previously and floor condition was great in those rooms, but we can not assume the same for the rest of the house.
Both bathrooms also currently do not have any electrical outlets. We would like one for each of the bathrooms.
Ideally the timeframe for these projets would be 2 weeks, starting February 14th 2012 and finishing before the end of the month.
The work is on the second floor. Previously we have experienced roof leaks which have caused portion of the ceiling (see pics) to cause damage to the ceiling. We believe that due to the water leak electrical elements such as the lights and other electrical fixtures in the kitchen have faltered. We require a handy man to visit the site and provide a proposal to make repairs to the ceiling and to the damaged electrical elements of the unit. The roof leak has since been repaired.
We are an organization with 15 sites throughout the Toronto area including Brampton, Mississauga, Vaughan and Markham. Although we have an immediate requirements to make the necessary repairs to the current condition as noted above we are also looking to find a company that can assist us with a number of small to medium size projects that would include plumbing, electrical and other €œhandy man€ related repairs. Perhaps this would be an opportunity to begin a long term relationship with a company that can deliver such services.

Our condo already has a 3/8" natural gas quick connect supply outlet installed. The issue arises in that the hose on our BBQ has a 1/2" quick connect, so we need the size of the natural gas supply changed to accommodate our BBQ. Please provide an estimate for the cost to complete the change described.
Estimate for an electricity service mast to be added to my single story.

Looking for a certified electrician for a small project, to safely wire a small circuit consisting of 3 computer fans, an electrical transformer, an on-off switch, and a potentiometer (low-high) for cooling computers that I have on a wooden shelf I've built. I've seen these little plastic boxes with something like a breadboard inside, but I just wouldn't trust myself with a soldering iron, and thinking maybe somebody (in Toronto ON) could lend their expertise so I could just plug the thing in with no worries.
1. to install kitchen range hood, remove over-stove microwave, remove existing fan in ceiling, connect hood to existing ducting in ceiling, patch and refinish ceiling and wall.
2. replace two bathroom vent fans with new higher capacity fans with back flow prevention and variable speed control.
I will supply, and have in hand, the two bathroom fans, and the kitchen range hood. Contractor will need to supply backflow prevention and variable speed control.
Special requirements: Because of a health condition with severe sensitivity to construction dust, dust control steps will be needed, including draping plastic sheeting over cupboards and over kitchen openings and bathroom doorways. As-you-go cleanup and suppression of dust.
Just bought a natural gas BBQ.
I have the gas access outside and the hose to connect it to the BBQ.
I believe all I need is the quick connection installed to be able to connect the BBQ hose to the gas line.
