Potential knob and tube going to a 3-switch box in main floor entrance hallway. Need to run new wire from bsmt (bsmt will be gutted so no problem opening walls/ceiling down there). Need to re-wire one circuit from box to front porch light, one circuit to main floor hallway light. Need to move 3rd circuit out of box (making it a 2-switch box) to another wall inside first room on main. Need to wire a new outlet in front room. There is some new framing on main floor btw hallway and front room (to put outlet and possibly new switch box)
MUST have someone look at it tonight (Wed, Feb 4) around 7 and start/finish work tomorrow. House is at Dundas/Dovercourt.
I recently purchased an old townhouse, and one of the bedrooms (on the second floor) does not have power. The light fixture does not work, nor the electrical socket in that room. There is no power at all to that room.
I had a bathroom renovation done in an adjoining room, and I suspect perhaps a wire was cut or became disconnected during that process. Not 100% sure this was the cause, but it's likely. It might also be unrelated.
The wall is plaster and wire mesh, not drywall. So opening the wall will be messy. Just so you know.
I know there is a number of things that could be the problem, from as simple as a disconnected wire to as complicated as having to rewire the room. So if you would prefer to charge me a fixed fee to come and definitively find the issue, and then give me an estimate to fix it, I can accept that too. However you prefer to work.
Or if you're confident you can fix the issue for a fixed amount, I'm OK with that too.
Ideally, you will be able to come in and fix the problem all in one day. This includes fixing the wall (if you need to cut into it), and cleanup. But again if you need to come in and do an estimate on one day, and come back to fix the problem after, that's OK too.

- re-wiring + proper grounding of some outlets + possibly lights
- wiring of various new outlets across the house: some kitchen receptacles (inc. electric oven + range hood), laundry room dryer outlet, 2-3 other convenience outlets + an electric fireplace outlet

We require selection and installation of electrical heating and cooling for an approx 650 sq ft finished house loft.
The loft currently does not have direct heating, nor electrical service for a heater (ie only standard wall outlets).
Our electrical panel supports 240V and has room for additional circuits.
The loft has a deck and access to outside air.
We seek a contractor who is able to:
1) Assess the loft space to understand its capabilities and constraints;
2) Advise and recommend heating/cooling equipment options;
3) Acquire and install agreed-upon electrical heating equipment, including new electrical service;
4) Perform the work in a manner that complies with Covid19-related practices to protect all parties.
Quality of work for long-term peace of mind is important to us.
Availability to complete the work prior to Oct 15 is an asset.
Hi - we have two issues that might be connected. We have two wall plugs on our ground floor that no longer work (I tried the breakers to no avail) and separately our front hall way light switch that controls the exterior and interior light stopped working. Could you please provide a quote?
Job in detached house
Move sub panel higher on the existing wall- wire too short ( junction box needed )
Disconnect old wires in kitchen
Install 6 spot lights in kitchen
Install 3 way switch
Run line for fridge and stove -10 ft from electrical panel- same wall
Run lines on outside of wall to 2nd floor and connect stackable washer and dryer
Move 4 receptacles lower on the same walls.
Run 2nd motion light off existing motion light on rear of house.
I'm looking to have a power outlet installed in a laundry room to accomodate a new washing machine. The room has a 220 plug which we will still use for the dryer. The old one was a combo unit and only needed one outlet - now we need to add a 110 outlet to it. There's a ceiling light in the room as well if that helps at all.
We're in a condo in downtown Toronto and looking for some competitive estimates.
Thanks,
J
Hi,
I have a very old 100amps electrical panel in my house that woudl like to replace wtih a new one that has more room for extra breakers. My house is small (1700 sqft) wtih no unusual power requirements.
No other circuit testing or re-wiring will be required at the time of panel replacement.
I would liek to know the cost of such an upgrade.
Regards,
Bea
I own and live in a raised bungalow in North York. I am being forced by my insurance company to upgrade the electrical panel from 100A to 200A. I am looking for a licensed electrician to complete the upgrade from A to Z, including all materials, permits, inspections, etc.
Please also let me know how long the job would take, especially the power outage.
Thanks.
I'm in need of an electrical sub panel box.
I need a 100amp connection or sub panel which is located in our warehouse about 70-80ft from the main panel. The total length going up and down and across is roughly 120-140ft. In the 100amp sub panel i'll also need 1 30amp connection/outlet and 2 x 110v 15amp outlets/connections.
