Just bought a 60 yr. old semi-detached, backsplit home.
Carpets need to be removed from Great room (dining room/living room), 2 staircases (6-7 steps each), 2 small hallways and 2 bedrooms (approx. 1200 sq. ft. total)
Depending on condition of floor once carpets are removed we may need to completely overhall the floors or just polish them. Original owners in home have always had carpet. Two rooms have already had the carpets removed previously and floor condition was great in those rooms, but we can not assume the same for the rest of the house.
Both bathrooms also currently do not have any electrical outlets. We would like one for each of the bathrooms.
Ideally the timeframe for these projets would be 2 weeks, starting February 14th 2012 and finishing before the end of the month.
I need to get the insulation and drywall installed immediately also hardwood flooring if possible (there are a couple of other items that can be incorporated depending such as the concrete front steps & driveway
I NEED AN EXPERIENCED DRYWALL & TAPER who is available immediately - Either I supply materials or you do - |Also I need to be able to pay in monthly installments (credit is fine and the bank is willing to provide an equity line of credit - but they need to see that the house shows its value and in order to do that I need the drywall and flooring completed before they send out the apraiser.
Most of the renovations on this project are done but I need to get the drywall in so the electrician can finish up. I am looking for someone that can work with me at a reasonable rate - this is not a big project iit's a small bungalow.

We are taking possession of our house on January 17 2012. We need the hardwood floor in the main floor and staircase to the second floor (around 600 sq. ft.) sanded stained and varnished. We want to replace the existing baseboards with higher new baseboards. We would like the job to be completed between January 23 and January 27. The floor and stairs are in good condition. The house is 16 years old. The floor plans are attached.
Provide detailed quote please.
Thank you.
I'm looking to get hardwood floors in two adjoining rooms (just under 300 sqft total) refinished. I'd like to get a quotes for both with and without staining and I'd like to get the work done between Oct 12-15.
I would also like to get hardwood flooring installed in the master bedroom (10x12ft) and would be looking for a quote for that.
Both these projects are in an older apartment that I have recently purchased. The existing hardwood floors are standard oak, narrow slats and I would be looking to install something of a similar width in the bedroom. I haven't purchased the materials yet though and I'd also be looking at the possibility of installing engineered floors.
We need the original hardwood floors upstairs to be refinished. Approximate area is 400 square feet. Then we need laminate installed on the main floor (living/dining room), approximate area 300 square feet. We also would need ceramic tile for the entry way (or some water proof, non slip flooring), about 25 square feet there.
We own the house and it's a rental, but will be empty in July, when we would need the work done.
Also, do you do concrete work? The walkway leading up to the house (about 2 feet by 9 feet) needs to be replaced.
Purpose: I'm interested in getting a quote to refinish some hardwood floors.
Area: It will be for the main floor of a bungalow approximately 600 sq. ft. (living, dining, hallways, 2 bedrooms).
Details: It will need to be sanded, stained and varnished. There are some stains and possibly some staples on the floor.
Timing: Ideally the work should begin near mid June.
I would like to get the Hardwood floor refinished. The house is 1200 sq ft with (1) living room (15 ft x 11-1/2 ft), (2) dining room (12 ft x 11 ft), (3) hallway, (4) Bedroom 1 (12 ft x 10-1/2 ft) , (5) Bedroom 2 (12 ft x 9 ft), and (6) Bedroom 3 (10 ft x 9 ft). All rooms have hardwood floor.
I have hardwood floors in my front room and hallway, 11 steps, upper hallway and two bedrooms that need refinishing.
There are two additional bedrooms that don't have hardwood, but that I'd like to refinish in some sort of wood.
There are two additional rooms with laminate that I may consider updating.
We are looking for a qualified company / individual to provide a quick quote for the repair work as seen in the pictures attached. We recently removed a wall and you can see the existing footprint. The flooring will have to be massaged a bit to make as it was never touched. Please supply and install the flooring, it is an oak color but you can come check it out and get a sample upon successful project assignment. This is needed asap and would llike to keep the time and cost competitive and sufficient. We have pulled the quarter round molding from the floor to make for easy access and convenience.
Good work and results will lead to further work on future projects. We are currently looking for a certified, insured and licesed hardwood installer and please have your WSIB clearance certificate handy. Thank you for your time and look forward to the repsonses. Contact my cell directly for immidiate response. Shawn
Hello, I have a couple of projects in mind and need an estimation with regards to price. The first project concerns "staining" I have just bought a 2 year old home (approx. 3000 sqf) which already consists of hardwood floors throughout and maple cabinets in the kitchen, however i wanted to stain the floors as well as the staircase a shade darker (to an espresso dark brown colour). I also wanted to stain my kitchen cabinets if possible. Here are the measurements:
Family room: 16.99X14
Living/Dinning room: 21X11
Den: 10X10
Staircase
2nd Project: I need granite countertops in my kitchen which also has a small island.
3rd Project: crown moulding throughout
4th project: 25 potlights
Our arranged contractor fell through and we are moving in to our condo on July 10th. We really need to have the kitchen floor sanded and refinished before we move in. We have permission from the condo corp. for this work to be done on Monday, July 7th. We are very anxious to find someone who could squeeze this small job in. It is about 150 sq ft with an island in the centre to work around. Thank you!

Hi, we would like to know if it is possible to refinish our floors and change the colour to something like a more natural colour. White/Light oak colour is what we would like. Current colour is not too dark but has a little orange. Stairs are quite dark.
Included some pictures, note they are realtor pictures so the size and colour looks a little off. This is the area I would like to redo:
Second Floor: 13.2'x10.2'
Third floor:
Bedroom 1 (9.2'x8.5')
Bedroom 2 (13.5'x8.8')
Hallway
Two sets of stairs
We take possession of the property on March 19 and would like to complete the refinishing as soon as possible while the unit is still empty.
See the following link: the colour she is going for is what my wife would like.
Would anyone like to talk about how possible it is to achieve the colour we are looking for?
I have a quick and simple project ideal for a 1 or 2 man team.

2) Re-painting of the apartment (Living area, Kitchen, and Hallway)
The Apartment is located downtown Yonge / Bloor (area)
This quick project is Top priority and am looking for someone that could start immediately as this project must be completed within a week at the latest.
So please only contact me if you can commit and start immediately.
We have just purchased a house in the Lytton Park area of Toronto and take possession on August 12th, we will have exactly two weeks in which to have the carpet - which is throughout the entire home removed and the hardwood floors refinished. Additionally, we require the entire house to be painted prior to moving in on August 31st. The house is approximately 60 years old and we think the square footage is approximately 2400.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

I have an older house in East York (Toronto) and I'm trying hard to restore as much of it as I can to it's earlier, original condition. Currently, I have a stairway that goes from the first to the second floor - it's made of wood, (gumwood, I believe), however the stairs creak a lot when you walk on them - and they need to re-supported from underneath and refinished a little bit on their surface.
I'm looking for quality, someone who can help take the house back in time.
This is the only house I have (and will ever have) and I want to restore as well as I possibly can.
I would appreciate getting feedback from anyone out there who likes to restore older wood to promote the craftmanship of yesteryear.
THANK YOU!
We just bought a "fixer upper" house, and the first thing we would like go get done is the upstairs wood flooring. I have been researching to do a DIY , getting quotes via family/friends, but thought I'd get a professional quote and feedback. I have wood flooring across the upstairs (3bedrooms + living room + dinning room + hallway + short staircase). They are a light color, have many scratches from furnitures, and just worn out overall. Therefore, we would like to get the best feedback/opinion of the best options which is cost effective and worth it in the long run (next 5years).
