How much would something like this cost? My neighbour and I share a mutual driveway and we want to build a double car garage very similar to the attached photo. The site is clear and ready for construction. - poured concrete floor - 2 cars - solid dividing cement block wall - permits needs, contractor to arrange - roll-top doors - one access door on each side - Eglinton & Avenue road area - work to start immediately.
We would like to build a freestanding garage on a concrete pad. Garage would be 12 feet by 20 feet, frame construction, shingled roof and vinyl siding. Building site is in our backyard on level area. We do not require any wiring, insulation or drywall at this time, simply a shell. 8'x7' roll-up door and 32" man-door. Contractor to obtain City of Toronto building permits.
Garage Re-Construction (20'*23') on new footings which includes framing, vinyl siding, pedestrian door, one window up to 3'*4', reinstallation of 2 existing garage doors, roofing with shingles, eaves and downspouts, wooden fascias, electrical installation, eavesthorugh and soffit and resurfacing of concrete slab.
Need to tear down an existing single car garage which is fully functional right now, and update it with a new construction block/brick with concrete floor ,and a window on one side.
The new garage will be 14x23.
The site is easy to get in and out from , the existing garage is in fairly good shape. It is all wood.
the garage is going to be in the same spot as the one there right now
Will i need Drawings and or permits from Etobicoke? If so please include in price.
Need price for all of this including its roof electrical and possibly a water source...
all tax in price ..
let me know what the cost will be..and length of time.
In making my decision i will only consider companies with insurance and experience...
I'm shopping around.
thanks
I want a garage built in my backyard, facing a lane way that runs behind all the houses on the block. There are older garages on either side of my property and the space between them is 17' - 0". The length of the garage to the lane way would be approx. 22' - 6". I'm open to design suggestions in terms of the foundation and whether the walls should be block or frame. I assume the floor will be poured concrete. I'd like the garage insulated since I plan on using it as a workshop as well as storage for one car. I'd also like ample storage space in the attic.
Looking to build a new garage. Size will be approx 20 x 20. I will build the garage myself but would require someone for the foundation part. Access is good (non-constrained).
Please give price on the following:
-price for foundation ( 20x20 concrete slab with 4' frost wall)
Garage will be in Toronto (Lawrence and Bayview area).
Please submit detailed price along with contact info.
Thanks.
Steph
Location for the garage (for 2 cars) is in the backyard where it has 2 parking spots. The garage is not attached to the house (there is approx. 10 feet clearance to the house), both sides of the garage will be touching my neighbours' garages. I would like to have 2 garage doors (one at each end) and a door entrance.
Tear down of existing Garage... 12 x 24... OEM... was built essentially on the ground. Prefer Proper Footings, Concrete or Block Foundation, Floating Concrete Slab. Want room for 2 vehicles, end to end. Want enough height to drive into Garage with an SUV with an affixed Cargo Carrier? Want 'exit access' at the rear into yard area (barn doors scenario) No insulation required... No interior finishing required... No plumbing required... Electrical required...
New 12' x 24' Garage --> Detached

Concrete slab is complete and ready to go.
We are looking to build a garage on a serviced laneway near queen and ossington. There's a current garage in the place so it will need to be demolitioned, removed and new foundation poured. We want a green roof, car garage door and one double door for access from the backyard. Could you be in touch to discuss costs and timelines?
We have an existing semi-attached garage (shared with neighbour), which is detached from our house. It is in our backyard.
Our garage needs work (including a new roof, siding, garage door, etc,.) to make usable. Or, possibly a rebuild depending on the price.
We are interested in building a new single car garage + laneway suite with: electricity, heating, gas & plumbing. Looking to commerce work as soon as possible.
We are also interested in adding a walkout to our basement - it has been underpinned just requires an entrance to be built.
Looking to build a garage that i can use to store my stuff and need to get an idea on pricing. Its in the beaches area of toronto and looking to build a 20 x 20 , vinyl siding, overhead door and man door and window with concrete pad . Plan to start in two week.

Hi,
I am looking to build a detached garage structure at the back of the property. It would be for a single car. Pre-fab build would be fine and can use metal as well. Would want electricity to be connected for the garage door and light.
Would need foundation to be built, currently there is a parking pad with crush stone present. It faces a laneway in downtown Toronto. Would need permits. There would likely be one small tree that would need to be removed as well for the build.
Any help or estimates for the project would be great!
I'm looking for a quote for a garage build. I have my plans and am waiting to select a vendor before requesting a permit. It would be great to start/finish this project this year but given our erratic Canadian weather that may not be possible.
15.5' Wide, 20.5' Deep, 8' Tall (13' with roof).
I require the following:
- Estimate
- Firm timeline, start and end dates
- Photos/Links of other garages in your portfolio
Please give me a call or contact me via email. I will send along the plans once we connect.
Thanks,
Tony
I'd like to build a garage on an existing cement pad. The pad will need to be assessed if it is adequate. The garage will abut a fence, so that fence will need to be taken down and I'd like to keep the backyard entirely enclosed after the project, so depending on width small fencing could be required. I'd like windows in the back, electricity, I'm unsure of construction type yet, or what max height I would be allowed.
Current structure is a single car wood garage in very poor shape. Also the foundation is not reusable. Structure is in the rear yard with access via mutual driveway.
Looking for full service contractor including all permits, drawings, etc.
Also requires redoing of the driveway in the back yard.
